British Embassy Affirmation of Residence
DrJack54 replied to FruitPudding's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
That's fine...and many offices will accept a TM30. From the OP earlier... "Speaking of residency certificates at CW, do we need to take along evidence of TM30, or just latest 90 day report?" The OP is dealing with CW and as a result requires a confirmation from embassy OR certificate of residence from immigration. TM30 will not cut it -

Read thread heading. It concerns UK embassy no longer providing confirmation of residence. Along with Oz and USA and some others. Phuket is one office of 75. -

Cannot apply by post. Do not require TM30. Most important is your current TM47 (90 report) Copies of basic passport pages. Note will take approx week for them to post out the certificate of residence. 200b -

You won't be able to obtain certificate of residence from CW without a TM47. You could obtain a COR at another province with a TM30. Messy but possible. -
Yes they do. Regarding you comments about appointment slots ....they are readily available from Monday. Make an appointment and make hard copy of confirmation email. Doc check will want that along with basic copies of pp. TM7 with photo and TM30 (screenshot from condo will cover it) There is photocopy shop to left side immigration entry.

Given that information thinking you could look into obtaining a non O retirement in Oz. That would make opening a bank account in Thailand easier. Do you know where you plan to live in Thailand? -

I'm not sure. Bit off topic but....I was chatting with an Oz woman that happens to work at Oz embassy. Living in Bangkok for quite some time. Asked her about the "income letter" thing. Why did AU embassy stop providing that. She explained that Statutory declarations cannot be certified for use outside of Australia. Also should never have been providing that service. That's all according to her FWIW. -
From the OP.... "A foreign national recently resigned from a private Thai company to work for an NGO and obtained a Non-Immigrant "F" Visa to work for the said organization." It's the old "friend of mine" IMO a nonsense thread. Very vague at best. The OP has not posted since starting thread. Speaks volumes.

British Embassy Affirmation of Residence

What are you typing about. Recent reports of an office charging 500b. Various immigration offices apply charge for certificate of residence from zero to whatever. Some offices (smaller ones) provide option on same day service. CW as one example only provide mail out service. Cost 200b. No other option I did this few weeks ago at CW and received COR in 5 days. -

It's part of living in Thailand. I go with the flow. Most I have seen posted is 500b. Can't recall the immigration office. CW is 200b and it's mailed out EMS. Cannot receive same day. -

AU embassy in Thailand does not provide confirmation of address. Apart from UK ...I think USA also stopped the address confirmation. I have only needed Oz embassy in Bangkok for renewal of passport and real estate sales in Oz. Expensive yes but no one cares. Bit similar with those embassies note supporting annual income statements. Both examples involve stamping Statutory declaration in case of AU and Affidavit in case of USA. That is not valid and previously misunderstood. -

Do you have an existing Thai bank account? You could consider entering Thailand visa exempt and applying for non O retirement in Thailand. You would need to be able to transfer 800k into your Thai bank. You would require 15 days + on your 30 day entry stamp to apply for the non O. To buy more time you could obtain a 30 day extension. -
This is what you need to do. Go to HH immigration office. I looked through past threads and can confirm reports of combo method being accepted at HH. Vaguely recall ubonjoe suggesting that monthly income equalling 400k for the year and the additional 400k for the required 2 months prior and 3 months post application being the recommended combo. They won't be happy. More work. This link is short but posts confirm possible combo at HH https://aseannow.com/topic/1262900-renew-retirement-non-o-combination-method/

Your first extension from a non O starts 90 day report clock. For that first extension some offices will accept a rental agreement. Some will want a TM30. Seems you are on 12 month extension from a non O. In that case you can travel to other provinces, stay away from your usual residence and do not need to file a TM30. Also you can travel internationally and "protect" your permission of stay with a reentry permit and when return you do NOT need to do a TM30. If you change your usual address eg move to new location (change of address) then you will do a TM30.

No. You can obtain a certificate of residence from your immigration office. The cost varies. -
