  1. Agree. For some reason the immigration officers seem VERY fussy and strict about this. There have been threads where someone has slipped up by eg 300baht and corrected very quickly yet still rejected. Bit weird when you think about it. Personally I leave the funds above 800k all year round. Avoids slip ups and side benefit is makes io job easier.
  2. I did clarify why the "6 months after the initial 3 months was not correct" and again post referring to 7 months " The number of months or days balance above 400k varies. What's important is to count 3months post application and 2 months prior for following application. ......requires 800k+ Not below 400k at other times. Outlined here..... "The number of months between each extension can vary as application can be made on day of expiration of permission of stay or up to 45/3O days prior. Forget the 6 month idea."
  3. So true. I had a chuckle thinking how this rider almost needs to be on every thread. In fact I believe there is an immigration office that requires the 800k THREE months prior (can't recall which office)
  4. Two weeks is a good idea. Can be done up till day of expiry but seriously not a good idea. 30 day extension will start from end of your current permit. Doesn't hurt to clarify that with the io at the very start.
  5. Must be the amount. Once sent small amount 7,500baht to Vietnam bank account and arrived same day. However certainly not minutes. The transfers to Thailand were 400k to one million. I always put reason "general living expenses" Have been many threads about speed of transfer. Never understood why. Surely people can plan in advance. Wise fix the rate when you confirm transfer.
  6. Certainly not instant in my experience.. I have Kasikorn and the gf has Bangkok Bank. Have transferred amounts of 300k + into both accounts and it usually comes within 48 hours. Probably have threads in "banking finance" forum .
  7. No has not changed. Just that your post was specific re not below 400k for next 6 months. The number of months between each extension can vary as application can be made on day of expiration of permission of stay or up to 45/3O days prior. Forget the 6 month idea. It's 2 months prior and 3 months post 800k and not below 400k at any other times
  8. On the day you apply for 12 month extension the 800k needs to have been in the bank for 2 previous months. Then maintained for next 3 months then can be reduced to not below 400k and back up to 800k two months prior to day of next application
  9. Not sure what you are asking about. Perhaps looking for reassurance. Having 2 week overstay can be detected at any time. Traveling via bus unlikely to be checked, however pretty poor planning. Pity you need to travel upcountry a bus Pattaya to BKK would be bullet proof.
  10. I have a reentry permit and from experience of flying out and back to Saigon monthly over years I have the passport page opened at reentry permit so that airline clerk not looking for visa. Penang to Bangkok AirAsia will want to see onward flight if flying visa exempt entry to Thailand
  11. The airline requiring the onward flight at departure has been mentioned in every post. And it's the airline that will be responsible if refused entry by immigration upon arrival. Most often you will be returned to where your flight originated from . It's the airline that will be dealing with the issue.
  12. For a 3 month stay only? You would be better off with a tourist visa (60 days) plus one 30 day extension OR Enter Visa exempt (45 days) and do one border bounce for a second visa exempt entry via land (45 days) Both give total 90 days. Require longer ? Then you can obtain 30 day extensions to each entry.
  13. TM30 is not required unless person is planning to obtain extension (eg 30 day extension to visa exempt entry) or have dealings with immigration. Immigration at the very least can send you away and come back when TM30 has been filled and receipt provided.
  14. I'm sure the OP is aware of the financial requirements for non O retirement and subsequent. For his own reasons he has inquired about agents. Perhaps he either doesn't want to deposit (and maintain) that level of funds in Thai bank account or does not have the funds.
  15. That's correct it is 21 at CM. Not many require 21. CM think they are unique
  16. From places such as Phnom Penh, HCMC etc into Thailand you WILL be required to show onward flight at departure using AirAsia.
  17. Neither had I untill last one recently. (October). I have made more than several extensions CW. The io was very young. Could not engage in any way. When I tried to point out her error (I got out 2 words) she did not reply in any way and sent me to her superior. That area L32 had track suit type pants on and polo top. From the start and first greet I thought ....is this an apprentice. She made error in bank book pages.
  18. AirAsia will require onward flight if flying without visa or reentry permit. Google 'rent a flight ' Some folks have used onward flight.com
  19. You will not be asked to show funds. Regarding the TM7 you can do both . Namely take it along with you all filled in with photo attached. Or obtain it at immigration and fill it in there.
