  1. The total is not insignificant. Not asking anything personal but my guess is this process is done by folk with ties to Thailand. Be that family or whatever. Personally find it strange that any tourist would come to Thailand with those requirements. Welcome back.
  2. Extensions based on retirement do not require insurance unless had a non O-A. In that situation you change to non O
  3. Can you give approx all up cost for your ASQ, Insurance, etc etc
  4. Thai court was not mentioned or implied. It was response to an incorrect general comment.
  5. For sure 100%. Phuket has so many foreign and Thai workers from various parts of Thailand. Personally I never bought that 75ish vaccinated level. Perhaps folk living in Phuket can provide better info as to number of workers from Myanmar etc. Only guessing but don't imagine that they were vaccinated. Thinking the return of workers from neighbouring countries back into Thailand will be of interest.
  6. The term "open up" is being applied to open up to tourists and also open up Thailand in general. Schools, bars, etc etc. It's 2 completely separate things. Fully vaccinated people coming to Thailand do not need quarantine. True need some monitoring. Vaccinated tourists in itself is not the issue. You mentioned Phuket....the biggest flaw was to have them in any type of quarantine. Simple rule stay on island for 14 days. Again with testing schedule. If someone wants to visit Thailand with all the bars shut etc and curfew then fine. Let them come without quarantine fully vaccinated of course. The numbers imo won't be that significant.
  7. When would the students families be fully vaccinated. I mean by what date. Guess teachers also
  8. Lyrics from his favourite song....(Peter Allen) And soon they'll all know his name He'll have fortune and fame When he gets his name in lights That'll be his name spelt right
  9. OP, find your post strange. As you mention yourself ....there is a multitude of info regarding PE Visa and Non O retirement in existing threads. Choose what best suits your needs. As for importing household goods etc there is a forum with much advice about that.
  10. Perhaps I misunderstand. When things change quarantine wise (hopefully during October) he can only avoid quarantine by being fully vaccinated prior to entry into Thailand.
  11. Maybe your a cup "half full' guy. Clearly it wasn't just a once off comment. Had been a few. From my perch, covid has little effect on me financially etc. I would rather be talking with farang that are doing charity to assist others than pointing out the discounts available due to covid. "Positives in a bad situation" spare me.
  12. OP, I can hardly understand your issue in the sense your making it an issue by even giving the guy the time of day. Recently I have sort of cut off a chap I know over years here in Bangkok. He was taking glee in the fact with current covid situation he was able to obtain cheap condo stays for various trip and the roads were great with no traffic. I suggested that I would prefer to have crowded roads and Thai businesses busy for benefit of Thai rather than his childish attitude. He hasn't contacted me since and visa vera. Cut ties with your "friend". He ain't worth it. Misery loves Company.
  13. Your between rock and hard place. Any neighbors aware of this and can talk about it? Sometimes strength in numbers good idea.
  14. Yes. The cover period will be for the period remaining on his permit
  15. OP, I have heard nothing about what your talking about. When does your current permission of stay end?
  16. Good. Try and wait. No guarantees but chances are that soon...ish you may be able to arrive Bangkok and not have to quarantine. There may be restrictions such as remain in Bangkok province for that time and obviously fully vaccinated but financially and mentally much better than current requirements.
  17. If you return with reentry permit you will need 100k covid insurance for duration of what is left of your reentry permit
  18. Really enjoyed that article. Thanks. Bit of a Rendell fan. I was able to read it by continuing with Google account.
  19. A lot of these points made in various posts are irrelevant. There is a saying about 'Perception' posted below. So this morning I check the emails and one of my tenants is vacating. The agent can deal with that. For kill time I decided to look at a rental share app that I've used previously. The site shows places for rent and also folk looking to rent. What struck me is in the 'share accommodation' some people listed non-smoker etc. Some listed "fully vaccinated". What's that tell you about directions. Non vaccinated folk buckle up. Perception is more important than reality. If someone perceives something to be true, it is more important than if it is in fact true.”
  20. The other thing that comes with ownership is the neighbors. I rent a condo and made sure it had couple of features important to me. First up No private ownership. Along with strict management. Other requirements naturally. Why was no private ownership important? .....any takers
  21. Won't read all the replies. This is perhaps unrelated but I find interesting. I'm not anti purchasing real estate. However......... Opposite me there is new...ish development. After completion some adjoining properties did some extensions. On TOP of existing homes. See pics. Would you like to have purchased lovely new condo opposite. These monstrosities are virtually against balconies of some condos.
