30-day Extension to Visa Exempt Entry❓
DrJack54 replied to Skeptic7's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
What you are referring to is that without a visa some airlines may wish to see onward flight. -
Application for a non O visa requires proof money from abroad. Money in bank for extensions does not need to be shown came from abroad. Yes you can use two bank accounts. There needs to be activity every month at some offices. OR Provide 12 months of bank statements. OR You use an FD account Application for non O in Thailand from visa exempt or tourist visa only needs to be in bank on day of application.

DrJack54 replied to Mercurialm's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
I stated... "Which office will you be using? Reason being that I'm well aware Jomitien requires two months seasoning for non O application. I'm not about to qualify every post I make re non O or whatever with exceptions to the rules. Jomitien plays its own games. -

Passport copies for retirement extension?

Which immigration office? That should not be required. When you obtain a passport renewal the details of the non O are transferred -

Non-O Extension and Visa Exemption
DrJack54 replied to Mercurialm's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Not completely clear where you are. If in Thailand you can do a border bounce enter visa exempt and apply for non O at your local immigration office. Yes you could then obtain 60 day extension to visit wife however not required. You can obtain the non O immediately at local Thai immigration office if you have Thai bank account in your name only. -
Non-O Extension and Visa Exemption
DrJack54 replied to Mercurialm's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
You have not read the thread link I posted. For money in the bank method to apply for non O based on marriage or retirement only needs to be in Thai bank account in your name only on day of application. That will give you a 90 day stamp. In last 30 days of that permit with funds having been in bank for 2 months you can obtain 12 month extension -
Non-O Extension and Visa Exemption
DrJack54 replied to Mercurialm's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
It is possible to enter visa exempt and apply at local immigration office for non O based on marriage and subsequent 12 month extension. Why need extra 60 day extension to visit wife? Process outlined in this thread https://aseannow.com/topic/1315828-visa-exempt-to-90-day-non-o-spouse-visa-conversion-in-thailand/ -
Three scenarios /options
DrJack54 replied to charleskerins's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Never suggested he could. He is returning to USA. His current permission of stay is gone also the non O obtained from agent. He plan is to reenter Thailand visa exempt and obtain a non O at immigration office with 800k in Thai bank (his own funds). After 2 months seasoning of the 800k he will obtain the subsequent 12 month extension. -
Passport copies for retirement extension?
DrJack54 replied to proton's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
It's unfortunate that surprises can occur. I recently had my stamps transferred to new pp and CW requested photocopies of all pages of bank book and account update. This has never been a requirement. Doesn't Samut Prakan have photocopy stall? -

Three scenarios /options
DrJack54 replied to charleskerins's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
The OP is very unclear. Confirmed that current extension was agent assisted (didn't meet financial requirements) Perhaps does not realize that an agent can obtain another extension. Mentions is OP mentions 800k in Thai bank. Perhaps aim is to provide the financials and do it all himself. If that's the case he would need start over. Who knows -
Re-entry by air on a METV
DrJack54 replied to Nedrapter's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
You need to be aware of you "enter before date" on your visa. That sets when you need to exit and reenter Thailand to obtain another 60 days -
You can use funds from that account as long as remain above 800k for two months prior to application for extension.. Don't follow why you require another 800k however yes the funds can be in two different accounts. The financial requirements at outlined earlier in the thread. Where are you obtaining the non O (retirement)
