A clear majority of Germans have already been vaccinated, little surprise then that polls indicate majority support for the vaccines, restrictions on the unvaccinated and mandates. Added to which, it’s the unvaccinated who are at significantly higher risk of serious illness or death. Each serious illness and death will bring home the necessity of vaccination. There is no growth in unvaccinated people and no political future in unnecessary sickness and death.

Epidemiology 101, when a health problem is present across large parts of society, look for s society wide cause. Nobody chooses to be fat or suffer lung diseases, heart diseases or diabetes. These problems are a direct result of the Tobacco and Food Industries, both of which have used the identical misinformation and lobbying campaigns to protect their profits against the promotion of public health.

You are making a false equivalence (which has been explained to you already). You are also misrepresenting the ‘use of medical services/hospital’ issue. Uptake of medical services by people suffering ‘life style diseases’ is a known near constant demand rate. COVID outbreaks create exponential demands on health services and present the additional problem of COVID patients placing health care staff at risk of infection.

Perhaps a little more humanity is required. 5.23 million human beings, mothers, fathers, children, brothers, sisters, husbands wives. 5.23 million people who loved and were loved. Go ahead, minimize this vast human suffering, doing so really does help your arguments. Some ‘Humanity’ would be an improvement.

I would never advocate denying anyone the medical treatment they need. There is however a flip side to the deal. First the ‘Rights’ side: Medical treatment will always be given, paid for by others and provided by people putting their own health and lives at risk. Now the ‘Responsibility’ side: The Government mandate makes it a responsibility to get vaccinated, reduce your risk of becoming ill and requiring hospitalization and all associated costs and burdens on others.

Because, as you are fully aware, no vaccines prevents 100% of infections. They reduce the chance of infection, and greatly reduce serious illness, hospitalizations and deaths. They do not remove 100% of the risk. The doctor who you refer to, like all medical staff treating COVID patients would’ve have been very aware of that. His death is not a subject for your cheap (and failed) wise crack.

My observation was countering the suggestion that Thai motorists don't follow the rules, I observed most do but those who do not act with impunity. I chose to live here, I follow the rules, especially the rules of driving.

You’ll find the side effects of Pfizer-BioNTech listed in order of frequency in the attached; diarrhea is not listed so very odd that three people should have it. Perhaps they shared a meal that was not as healthy as it might have been.

Most people do follow the rules. Some don’t and it’s seldom they are called to account.

The information you have provided is useful, so thank you for posting, as is the information posted by others of actual experiences. This said, the title was odd, given the OP provides information, I suspect it might have reduced the audience, which is a shame. I suggest reading the final post of the thread to which you refer for a better understanding of what it was about.

Can somebody explain to me what is going on?

In two very short paragraphs you manage to completely contradict yourself. Well done. -

Then why the constant criticism of public health measures that are keeping millions of others safe? Millions who don’t live in semi-rural environments, cannot effectively socially isolate, may be subject to health conditions that raise their risk, or who’s work that places them at increased risk?
