  1. Electricity is expensive. 100 watt amp stereos are ridiculously overpowered a bar. The City should have regulated size of stereo amperage decades ago. Annoying and will damage your ears Musicians, like guitarists only use 20 watt amps in a normal size bar. Plenty loud
  2. Internal combustion Engine = 2,000+ moving parts, EV only 20 moving parts. Simply do not care about whiners who need to "get somewhere" and cannot spend the time to charge their EV. EV's are simply better, and better for the future. Polluting the air that others have to breathe has got to stop ... Very sad that governments do not ration fuel to those with personal cars who do not transport goods and services. Driving is simply a distraction, a way to kill time, or simply fun for the speed freaks. Just because you can afford gasoline, does not give you the right to burn it is my philosophy Foreigners cannot buy firearms in Thailand, simple for government to say foreigners cannot buy personal ICE vehicles as well. Want to take a trip? Public transport is your option
  3. I believe that is what backpacks are for!? Cannot image why you want a single thin strap cutting into your shoulder when you can use a backpack with padded straps when travelling. To each their own, travel light or travel whatever way you like! 5555
  4. No worries, they will be having some really great makeup sex later tonight. A good woman is so hard to find, she obviously just wanted to stick him a little bit as the knife only went in about 1/2" ????
  5. True, not a good sign having these 2 vying for the POTUS ....long way to first primary in February 2024 though. The whole categorizing is what is wrong IMO. Human pride month instead of Pride month.. Human history month instead of Black History Month. Do we need to categorize every month with a "cause" or agenda? It is time to accept and move forward with logic, not fear. We have lived with diversity our whole lives, just accept it. You can still live your life mostly with others who you prefer to be with if that is your comfort zone.
  6. It is once a year, you are retired, you have time. Never had a hassle in 5 years doing it. Paperwork and going to immigration by yourself takes about 2 hours for Non-Imm O Lets see, pay agent 12K - 20K ? I can think of a lot of things I would rather spend my money on personally
  7. Personally, I think the number of coffee shops and fruit shake shops/stands are ridiculous. Cafe Latte 30 baht to 140 baht (Starbucks) Fruit shakes 40 baht to 160 baht. Yes a NEW fruit shake stand inside Royal Garden mall sells them for 160 baht! New shops opening inside Royal Garden are great to see, but there are simply very few customers as the mall is pretty much dead except for the 3rd floor Ripleys on weekends. I have noticed a few weed shops closing or changing names, but more are opening as well. Crazy high overhead as they do open "stores" with rents likely 30K-40K baht a month. Am happy they refurbish many of these older places before opening, at least the owners are benefiting from the upgrades these leaseholders do to their buildings
  8. Say it was brake failure and sue the guy who rented the bike, am sure he has insurance 555 Sad the young buck crashed. Family should thank Thai and Thai doctors and pay the bill. 20K Euros or Dollars does not seem like a lot , Gofundme is for those who cannot pay
  9. People are fine, it is the fossil fuel burning polluting automobiles they drive that is the problem. Also, I mentioned "retired" which means you no longer do "business" in your life. Shopping, banking, entertainment can all be had without driving a personal car if you live in a city here Where in this world of "free countries" does it say you can cause harm to other peoples respiratory health because you want and can afford driving an ICE vehicle? This is where the big disconnect is in society. Governments all say they want to provide for your health and safety, yet let anyone drive a car, which provides neither
  10. Amazing to me how people always "need" a car. How many road trips do you "need" to take every year? For those trips, simply rent a car, go by bus, train, or van. The idea that now in the 21st century anyone with the money can still buy an ICE and pollute the air that others breathe is ludicrous/wrong. If you have to commute to work, get an EV. I suspect 90% of people could easily get by with an EV commuting. Personal ICE transportation should not be a "right" , it should be on a needed basis. If you are retired, no way you "need" to have a personal vehicle if you live in a city. It is a convenience, for which there are always alternatives. Man up, quit being a slave to the Big Oil companies, and learn alternatives to getting from point A to point B is my motto
  11. Never loan money without collateral. Helping out with 200 baht to buy some food is OK now and then, but anyone under 60 years old needs can move to a place they can get employment if they do not have employment where they live now. from Google.."May 22 (Reuters) - Thailand's unemployment rate hit a three-year low in the first quarter, the state planning agency said on Monday, declining to 1.05% from 1.15% in the last three months "
  12. Sad thing is, with all his money, we taxpayers will still have to foot the bill. Otisville federal prison is a cushy medium security federal prison where Cohen, Kenneth Starr, and many other white collar criminals went. In New York Catskills
  13. Cannot book a hotel in Thailand at 17. Considered a minor... Likely found someone to stay with and is having a grand ole time!
  14. Wow, the kid looks more like 13 than 17 to me. Fair haired young man with no tattoos should be easy to spot in Pattaya, Most of us are 40-50 years older with no color in our hair at all. 5555
  15. Gross or net income? If gross, then employee cost deducted, your own time deducted, ingredients deducted, space rent deducted, then you are likely losing money or working 12 hours a day for a few baht.
  16. How does one hold share in something "inactive"?
  17. I thought all reputable companies here are required to help you get your work permit? But yes, you need to change Visa first
  18. True, yet some people get caffeine from Coke and diet cokes. Caffeine is the addiction and I have had it for over 45 years. Just logged onto this topic so am only responding to this latest by Jingthing. Always appreciate your posts ! No comment on weed other than it does go up in smoke when you exhale it! 5555
  19. Yes, but not at 62, and not with just one woman! ???? Am 65 and want another 15 years at least before I die in bed
  20. One guys scooter grazed the others and they stopped to settle it. Boo hoo, my 30K baht Honda scooter got another scratch, now I will stab you. 25 year olds should all be walking home for pete's sake . If your little honda scooter becomes something to fight over, your life is pretty meaningless IMO
  21. Sisu is pretty amazing, filmed in northern Finland...the Laplands . One man, actor Jorma Tommila is like the John Wick of Finland in 1944, taking on the Nazis. 1337X
  22. Sorry you are having so much consternation over this. To play by the rules, put over 800K in a bank account today and do a border run to get the 2 months needed before applying for your Non-O VIsa. Problem solved. The 2 months will pass quickly and years from now you will forget all about it
  23. Strange prophesy as the first actual primary is not until 2-24, 8 months away. A lot can happen in 8 months. Trump in 2015 had no lead at this point, but became a contender after the first debate First debate September, which is 4 months away. Anything can happen.
