  1. Just a comment. . 54 Billion USD spent worldwide to battle Covid in one year. World governments need to spend like this replacing ICE with EV every year. Climate change is the long term death, governments only focus on short term as elected officials only are in for a short term.... So short sighted, unfortunately. Yes driving habits will have to change. As I have mentioned in other threads on several forums, governments need to classify fossil fuels as unsafe - harmful. Driving ICE is a privilege and not right, and has to be phased out sooner than later. Yes power plants in Russia and China will be the last to follow ... everyone else should be on board Governments need to stop letting Big Auto and Big oil corporations run things as they have done for the last 50 years. Peace Love and EV's
  2. Fortunas Forzas Finos Fords Farangs Too many cars, motorcycles, and strange foreigners 5555
  3. Fine with me if they can all enjoy the white sand beaches of Bangkok! 5555 LOL
  4. Does Japan need an increasing population? Why? Sustainability is key for any country, more people does not mean more wealth, just noise, congestioin, stress, less parking, more infrastructure challenges, etc..etc... Countries like Haiti decimated their arable lands because of uncontrolled population and now starvation, poverty, and malnutrition is rampant.
  5. I enjoy their wonderment and for some of them, their absolute lack of knowledge. Saw one guy knocking on the back window of a Baht bus and then jumping off the back. Think it was just past Soi 6. Hahaha Many many families with children walking down Walking Street. Got to see all the sights before we travel elsewhere!
  6. And why would you not want sex with a woman before and/or after a date. Even feminists and women's rights advocates have sex with men. It is part of the Biology and Physiology of almost every animal on earth
  7. Yes, at 70 your friend needs a wife he can leave his pension to. You cannot take it with you, so leave it to the Thai lady, along with your house and car. It's all good for everyone
  8. I found it fragmented this first episode = hard to follow. Starts 1968 skips to 2003, skips ahead to 2023, the post apocalyptic world. Reminds me a bit of Walking dead, The Strain, Colony. Unseen virus devastates the whole world/country, then military rules... so far nothing too fresh and new IMO
  9. I am a U.S. citizen. Grew up in Arizona, Lived in Washington and Alaska as well. My main thought is many Americans are into "stuff". Cars, jet-skis, motorcycles, quads, boats, trucks, travel trailers, and all sorts of other stuff! I know a guy who collects guitars to this day and does not play anymore. It is like they just want stuff to show off. Good for the economy I guess, but not so good for saving for retirement. Also all my friends and acquaintances from U.S. have only visited Canada or Mexico, some only one, some neither. They consider Hawaii a "very long" flight 5555
  10. Am confused. Have you been diagnosed with prostate cancer? If so, you cannot really worry about the price as the alternative is metastasis and death. You need MRI and biopsy every 12-24 months ....not a doctor but this has happened in my family
  11. Not really "news" unless some type of documentation is presented. If you are reporting that hospitals and crematoriums are full , it seems like photos or videos could be had and shown for a bit of verification of what you are saying. This is a communist country I realize so no doubt more difficult to report on, so why do it? Even the WHO cannot get reliable data from China, so doubt a reporter can
  12. I did not know Bangkok had "ports" for pleasure boats, ferries. Do you know where they are located? Can you send a map link? Would like to know as well for the future
  13. I disagree. Thai wife will get the house. "legal" marriage in Thailand means everything you had or have is now property of your Thai wife....here in Thailand. AFAIK. As someone said above, never invest more than you can walk away from.
  14. It is "baht gold" in Thailand. How long have you been in country? Never seen a gold shop? Best not to marry unless you are having a child together. As someone said above , only invest what you can walk away from. Since this was just something your "girlfriend" brought up or her family brought up, really makes no difference as you did not state you are engaged or planning on marrying. Maybe learn some Thai as well. Have peace and be kind. ????
  15. Very true, Thai girls will help you spend that 6K Euros every month no problem 5555
  16. Yes, milk is for baby cows. 555 Know a guy who always talks about the dangers of alcohol yet drinks at least a liter of milk a day at 63 years old. He looks very unhealthy IMO and has got a huge gut. Really cereal and milk is just for kids, but realize I like it once in a while as well. Have no problem with almond milk or pistachio milk as only use for coffee and some cereal or in Oatmeal a couple times a week. Have been on simvastatin here in Thailand for a few years, want to switch to the rosuvastatin as my cholesterol is still 210.
  17. You have to pay enough sinsod to cover the money she would be making at a high class bar or gogo for the next 5 years...Unless you let her keep working and sending money home to family 5555
  18. Yes, get all the young motorcyclist off the streets. I agree. Young people need to learn how to walk and take public transport since they cannot control their speed on a motorcycle. Plus it is bad for the environment and increases profits for the Big oil and Big automotive corporations, who care nothing about people. Can you say Honda? They almost have a monopoly along with their brothers Yamaha and Suzuki. Buy local products that help Thailand economy, not the Japanese economy I say, and try a bicycle or e-bike and use your muscles to get from A-B
  19. I am a white guy in Pattaya, one of thousands, so never chosen to be a "token white guy" I do seem to attract the attention of toddlers, they are just at right height for viewing my white legs 5555
  20. What do you call using a Visa agent to skirt the rules and get the proper stamp in your passport? Not totally "legal" in my mind, but never bring that up with someone who uses this method
  21. Wow. Fentanyl comes in cars and trucks through legal crossings by citizen smugglers. 9-11 terrorists came in through airport immigration. Get a clue dude, you listening to opinions from Fox, which are all fabrications and zero "news" https://www.cato.org/blog/fentanyl-smuggled-us-citizens-us-citizens-not-asylum-seekers#:~:text=But the opposite is true, person crossing the border illegally.
  22. Yes, day drinking! Only done it a few times at the corner of Soi Diana and Soi Buakhao. Then after a couple beers down Soi Honey for some pleasures with a willing lady. Was interesting to talk to the other over 60 gentlemen, always entertaining to a point. Think some of them like to drink early, get a <deleted> (as the Brits say), and then go home watch some TV and go to sleep early. Some just like to watch the world go by for a while and have conversations. To each their own as the saying goes!
  23. There are cheap cargo shorts at the Pattaya night bizarre across from Central Festival/View Talay 6, second road. Also Mikes shopping mall seaside and even the old Mikes near Walking street entrance. Yes, wearing a backpack is sweaty and uncomfortable.
  24. Excitement happens if you want it and pay for it 555 For me retirement is giving back to those still working for a living. The idea of a new wife and a house is not practical or affordable for me. I gave that up when moving overseas. My close family in the U.S. have all passed away, so keep busy with the little bit of philanthropy I can afford each day. Makes me happy and sometimes can be exciting beyond my childhood dreams. The lure of a young lady and intimate times with ladies keeps the heart and mind young. Variety is the spice of life. Walk, buy street food, take a songthaew, sit on the beach at a Thai run umbrella place, buy a coffee, buy a massage, buy some beers, rent a companion etc... Pretty much everything I do is to help the Thai people living here. Eat at restaurants owned and operated by Thai families, buy coffee at a small Thai run business (Never Amazon or Starbucks) , massage by Thai ladies, etc... I did everything for myself and family when I was younger and now feel the need to do for others as much as possible, This is where I live, so spend most all my money on supporting Thai people in and around my province. Helping others so they can raise their families and hopefully prosper is the only humanitarian thing to do when you are retired IMO. Do not own a car or motorbike as I polluted the air for 45 years driving, and it is simply not necessary now. Use Bolt, a baht bus, or walk. Buses or vans to go further. Yes, am an odd man in many ways, yet to me the sexagenarian boasting that he just bought a new 350cc honda motorcycle or new car is ludicrous! Do agree that motorcycles are very exciting, yet speed is just not a healthy or worthwhile pastime as you get older. You should have gotten that out of your system by now 555. "Slow down, you move too fast You got to make the morning last Just kicking down the cobblestones Looking for fun and feeling groovy" Paul Simon Tom Cruise was 23 years old when he said, "I feel the need, the need for speed ", most retirees are at least 40 years older than that now. Bones are much more brittle and recovery times are more than tripled. All that is left is to be happy with how you spend your time and money, stay active, laugh and love as much as possible, be kind, and get a good nights sleep.
