  1. In Pattaya you can walk or take a baht bus to any of 3 Fascino pharmacies (that I know of) and get prescription type drugs for most common ailments and medical conditions. Why I live here, do not have to rely on the "online" stores
  2. You may get a bigger surprise if the family of your username has a lawyer contact you. It is illegal to use celebrity names online as your username here or elsewhere. 5555
  3. Bad plan, a month off work so he loses his job, cannot put walked for one month on his resume. Woman says NO, why you not drive a car? And now you lost job! I not marry a man without a car and job! 55555
  4. Maybe put a down payment on one for her high school graduation. If she gets all A's and a job, give her a loan if she really wants to spend that kind of money. A loan to be paid back to you of course, unless she can get a loan at a bank. I got a $1000 USD loan from my Dad to get a car when I was 17, but was already working part time after school Assuming this is in Thailand, some thoughts on phones: Xiaomi redmi phones are great for under 10K IMO, same or more storage than an iPhone. Apple products do seem to last, my son has an iPhone 7 and still works great.
  5. It is companionship, intimacy, and passion (hopefully) Those 3 connections suffice for many men as we do not seek monogamy
  6. Best to start with one hour, then overnight, then a couple days, then start over. Pattaya is not a town for finding "girlfriends" and doubt he has enough money to afford it. Only read OP, will catch up later. Good luck
  7. Yes, buy them cheap food all day please. Anything to keep them off the streets and enforcing anything. Why I live here, never see police anywhere at anytime other than their photo shoot out in front of Soi 9 at 4pm daily. OK, I do see the motorcycle checks in a few areas run by police, but since I do not ride a girly scooter or any scooter like many guys here, the check points are not a problem for me. - OK veering off topic here Seems all these young and old men here in Pattaya do not realize that motorized scooters were historically designed for women and still are. Of course, to each their own. if you cannot walk or pedal or sit in a baht bus, best to take a Bolt then risk your life on a 2-wheeled Scoopy or Vespa or end up paying out money at a police check point IMO
  8. Exactly what or where do you find a "guest house" in Pattaya? Not a Hostel and not a Hotel from what I understand about guest houses Did not read the whole thread so sorry if this has been answered.
  9. Only the Big and Little Diomedes islands are split between Russia and U.S. The Aleutian Islands all belong to the U.S. I lived on Unalaska island / Dutch Harbor. BTW, the U.S. still has a large air force base on Shemya island, the last island in the Aleutian chain. A United States Air Force radar, surveillance, and weather station and aircraft refueling station, including a 10,000-foot-long (3,000 m) runway, opened on Shemya in 1943 and is still in operation.
  10. And sometimes the "son" end up to be he lover or Her "brother" could really be a husband (not legally) or lover as well, as we have all seen on this forum in other tales of true love with a Thai woman
  11. To each their own, and the OP is 80 years old so understand he wants the convenience. Am only 65 years old, but that seems totally too much for someone who has the money in the bank and can get the simple bank letter himself and paperwork. I have never waited more than an hour or 2 at Chonburi immigration in each of the last 5 years. Even in the U.S. when I worked a high paying job I only made $50 - $70 an hour, 8000 baht is $230 U.S. I do like to support Thai businesses, but this is something I cant go for. 5555
  12. <deleted>, why marry her now? He is only 53, must have to work another 10 years or so. Is he going to work from Thailand after marriage? I doubt it He sounds like a glutton for punishment as the old saying goes. Doubt anyone can change his mind. This 38 year old Thai lady has hit the lottery ! 5555
  13. Arrested for what? Did the female cry robbery? Is the female under age? What exactly was he arrested for? Plus RTP always shows photos of those arrested ( blurring their faces) Hope to hear some actual news about this arrest soon!
  14. Advice from a "Doctor" who can only say a "new substance" was added. <deleted>? maybe send it to a lab and find out what the substance is before claiming anything. Cannot believe people claim addiction as it is self-limiting IMO. If you cannot work, you cannot afford your addiction. If you are truly addicted, you will likely lose your job - then with no money you cannot feed your addiction. If you steal to feed your addiction you wind up in jail and can no longer feed your addiction. All self-limiting.
  15. the DOD in the U.S - Pentagon people claim no real strategic information can be obtained from these balloons that the Chinese do not already have from their 260 orbiting Satellites. Lets face it, a balloon 60,000 feet in the air is not a hazard to commercial aircraft or to U.S. intelligence. Just another non-issue for congress and senate to cry about while they earn their money and do nothing for the American people they are elected to represent
  16. Don't look back. Something to think about...yet I do not drive, but when I had a bicycle here, it did not have mirrors and I was fine.
  17. Well said. Agree completely Am a boomer and have a real dislike of men here in Pattaya who use derogatory terms when describing a woman he has casual sex with, yet praise themselves and their conquests with the beautiful young ladies, and do not see the irony. We all have addictions. I could never understand how drug or alcohol or sex addicts really happen. Simple logic is, you cannot feed your addiction unless you are working and making money, if you do not work because of your addiction, then you run out of money and the behavior has to stop as you cannot afford the addiction anymore. If you are working, then what you do with your time after work is up to you...yet again, if your "addiction" causes you to lose your job, then the addiction has to stop, as you have no money to feed the addiciton
  18. Switch to e-bikes, no license or registration needed. No one needs to drive , plenty of options for public transport/ car hires. You obviously are living with a fantasy first world mindset, yet you are in a third world. Reality is that the world is not fair and the more complex you make your life the more you will be disappointed
  19. You could say the same about coffee kiosks and shops, cigarette carton sellers, orange vested motorcycle taxis, and watch sellers. Somehow they keep "working" just in the hopes of making a hundred or so baht a day. I swear Thais will do anything other than get a regular full time job at a hotel or restaurant, even though those businesses are in need of employees nowadays Back to the OP. I have not found any weed other than online that was very good quality for under 350 baht a gram. Siam seeds had a good selection around 200-250 baht a gram but they are constantly running out. Local shops in Pattaya I have tried a few, but for the price just is not worth it IMO, online is the way to go, yet you likely need a Thai bank account to pay for many online sellers, I believe some will deliver COD
  20. According to google, Amazon Residence was completed in 2014. I live in a condo in south Pattaya that was completed in 2015 and it has a sprinkler system, so I had the idea that it was part of building code here.
  21. Strange they had no fire sprinkler system in the rooms and hallways. Photo does not show any water spraying from above?
  22. You are not retired if you need a 5% return on a savings account IMO. Understood, some people always want more, they can never have enough.
  23. I could not disagree more. Have met many expats at my condo building, 95% from other countries. We talk about everything from where we grew up, where we worked, local restaurants, local politics, girls, transportation etc..etc.. Most people who travel and live here are open minded and interested in other people and their experiences in life. Been out to bars with a few in the evening, but none are daily drinkers like you see on Soi Buakhao daytime here in Pattaya
  24. Yes, good idea to have money in a Thai Bank as you have "retired" here!!! Put 800,000 or more in there and you can save 20,000 or more per year that you pay your "visa facilitator"
  25. According to BKK post, February 6th is when the first Chinese tour groups are coming. Likely those hotels are getting ready. Have you not seen any activity at the closed hotels near you that cater to the tour groups?
