Australian Aged Pension
Lacessit replied to VOICEOVER's topic in Australia & Oceania Topics and Events
Ever thought of minding your own business? -
I really can't see the sense of alienating allies with tariffs, and wrecking your own economy with them as well. Already, Kentucky bourbon makers have lost $1 billion in sales to Canada. Converting allies to someone who wants to punch you in the mouth is insane. The DOGE scythe is cutting down Republicans along with Democrats. There is nothing selective about it. How do MAGA's rationalize such actions?

$2000 for a premature ejaculation. The ladies will have more fun with that than you do. -
Australian Aged Pension
Lacessit replied to VOICEOVER's topic in Australia & Oceania Topics and Events
Ever heard of a money belt? I have flown cash (AUD) to Thailand multiple times. It gets exchanged at a better rate than via interbank transfer. I am not suggesting anything. I am saying Centrelink has no way of knowing whether any person on a pension has purchased property in Thailand, unless that person tells them. -
Australian Aged Pension

I have not updated my asset details with Centrelink for about 5 years. While I trade in and out of stocks and precious metals, my asset balance does not change. I spend pension income and investment income as I get it. If Centrelink really cared, I am sure I would have been contacted by now. -
Genrikh Grigoryevich Yagoda (Russian: Ге́нрих Григо́рьевич Яго́да, romanized: Genrikh Grigor'yevich Yagoda, born Yenokh Gershevich Iyeguda; 7 November 1891 – 15 March 1938) was a Soviet secret police official who served as director of the NKVD, the Soviet Union's security and intelligence agency, from 1934 to 1936. Appointed by Joseph Stalin, Yagoda supervised arrests, show trials, and executions of the Old Bolsheviks Lev Kamenev and Grigory Zinoviev, climactic events of the Great Purge. Yagoda also supervised construction of the White Sea–Baltic Canal with Naftaly Frenkel, using penal labor from the gulag system, during which 12,000–25,000[1][2] laborers died. Like many Soviet NKVD officers who conducted political repression, Yagoda himself ultimately became a victim of the Purge. He was demoted from the directorship of the NKVD in favor of Nikolai Yezhov in 1936 and arrested in 1937. Charged with crimes of wrecking, espionage, Trotskyism and conspiracy, Yagoda was a defendant at the Trial of the Twenty-One, the last of the major Soviet show trials of the 1930s. Following his confession at the trial, Yagoda was found guilty and shot.

The Florida Keys are transient land. The next hurricane could demolish them. Freedom of speech is no problem for people who keep their mouths shut. -
The USSR is in the dustbin of history. Please keep up.

I would not be saying anything to an American. However, if they openly supported Trump, I would think of them as deranged, and disengage myself ASAP.

I guess that's why just about every nation west of Russia pleaded to join NATO.

Ukrainians have a different language and alphabet to Russia. Anyone who Googles the Holodomor knows how tragic Ukraine's history is. It's the reason Ukrainians hate Russians. It was genocide, and the Russian apologists on here are beyond disgusting. Both countries are Slavic. On that twisted logic, Slovakians should all be speaking Russian.

I guess the Kentucky bourbon makers are not finding Canadians pathetic. They've just lost a $1 billion market.

You are talking with someone who is a fact-free zone. I don't even bother to read his/her/its posts anymore.

Trump Bows to Economic Reality With Tariff Delays and Exemptions
Lacessit replied to placeholder's topic in Political Soapbox
Imagine the squeals to high heaven. Can you even imagine the damage Canada can do to the USA? Already, US liquor producers have seen $1 billion in sales vanish. When they come back is anyone's guess. Canada supplies electricity to New York and New England. They would be plunged into darkness. Washington, Oregon and California would have to introduce blackouts. A sensible country would reduce its dependence on the American market for oil, by seeking other markets. That is what Canada is doing now. Only someone truly illiterate in economics would tariff an import they are getting at a discount to the world price. America's auto industry is ailing. It depends on Mexico and Canada for critical components. Trump has rung a trade bell that can't be unrung. It's the same as when Putin tried to use Russian gas to blackmail Europe. My forecast is a world-wide recession. Whether Americans have the nous to realize Trump's transactional ideology is the cause, is another question. -
Trump Bows to Economic Reality With Tariff Delays and Exemptions

"The Art of the Deal" is ghostwritten, by Tony Schwartz. Trump has the attention span of a goldfish. Canucks and Mexicans are responding in kind, and it's costing Americans their jobs. "Reticence" is BS. Those countries circled the wagons and loaded up for bear. But keep thinking that way if it comforts you. -

Any of the Scandinavian countries. -
I met an American about a month ago who was apologizing to all and sundry for having Trump as President, so he did not share your view. After Trump has triggered a world-wide recession with his trade wars, and sold out Ukraine to Putin, check out how many non-Americans want to pat you on the back.
