She will not be working 24 hours a day, most of the time she will be sitting around texting her friends, or watching lakorn on TV. Or sleeping, I am convinced Thais can sleep anywhere at any time. Women in my GF's village earn 200 baht for an 8 hour day in the rice fields. That's only during planting and harvesting, the wages averaged over a year are 2-3K baht/month. For them, 15K baht/month for housework would make them village HiSo's.

Trump wins Iowa caucuses, cementing frontrunner status in 2024 race

Bumbler in chief? IIRC Trump was busy playing golf and charging the American taxpayer $800K a round for accommodating his security detail. Meanwhile, thousands of Americans were dying of COVID because masks smudged his makeup, and they were trying his quack remedies. You certainly do have your blinkers on today. -

AFAIK Israel makes its own war material, some of which is very innovative. Hamas has committed to the destruction of the state of Israel. Wake me up when they no longer do. There is no reasoning with rabid dogs. You either exterminate them, or die yourself. The regional war is being backed by Iran, using the Houthis as proxies in the Red Sea. New Zealand is dependent on the free flow of shipping, be careful what you wish for. Diaper Don avoided conflict, which encouraged tyrants such as Putin, Xi, and Kim. It's called appeasement, or kicking the can down the road. If Trump gets back in, Ukraine will be toast, NATO will be history, and Europe will be invaded by Russia again. Obviously, geopolitics is not your strong point. -

Try reading the economic data coming out of America. No wonder Trump is publicly wishing the economy and stock market will tank. The Afghanistan exit was a poisoned chalice left by Trump's incompetent administration. -
Go looking for ugly ones, 15K /month would be reasonable. Contract the sex out. With health issues, it might be infrequent anyway. If your original handmaiden won't accept 15K, walk away. Do not, under any circumstances, disclose what assets you have. Or what you can afford.

IMO the GOP would probably win if they nominated anyone but Trump. He's a gift to Biden. Conversely, if the Democrats retired Biden, and persuaded someone such as Michelle Obama to stand, IMO she would walk it in. Cue the squawks of outrage from the Trumpers. -

Australian Aged Pension

Let's say I have $100,000 in savings which I have accumulated prior to January 1, 2024. I can remit what I need without being taxed, and accumulate the OAP in an Australian bank account until said savings are exhausted. Perhaps you missed that part of the briefing by Mike Lister. Many Australian retiress in Thailand are married to Thais too. I might join them. My research proves you have your head up your @rse. -

I'll be applying to the RD for a tax number next month, but keep on making your dumb assumptions. Thailand's tax is on income. Anyone who can prove their funds come from savings accumulated prior to January 1, 2024 won't be taxed on those remitted funds. Sloppy research on your part. Show me what other posts have calculated is the Thai tax on income for an expat married to a Thai, on the OAP alone. I suspect your comment is another trolling attempt. -

If one is married to a Thai, anyone on the Australian OAP will be taxed very lightly, with the various allowances. Those amount to 560,000 baht. On current exchange rates, the single OAP is about 605,000 baht. Therefore, tax payable in Thailand is 2250 baht. I think it would be amusing if someone mounted a class action against the Australian government for failing to observe a double taxation agreement with Thailand. -

You may be right, JFK certainly did not want Johnson as a running mate. -

Every Trumper on this thread focuses in on Biden, with adjectives such as doddering and incompetent. They conveniently ignore the fact Biden surrounded himself with highly competent people. It shows in the economic data, and what his administration has got done. OTOH, Trump hired toadies and yes-men, and fired anyone who tried to inject reason into his meetings. Then showered them with abuse after they were gone. Only deeply insecure people behave the way Trump did. I guess his insecurity has gone exponential nowadays. -
Songkhran usually lasts about 4 days in Chiang Rai. I either hole up in the condo, or travel by car. I won't get on the scooter, too many idiots that think it's funny to throw chunks ice along with the water.

This is miraculous news. It's the first time I have heard of a baby being weaned after only one month, and eating cake instead.

Which is why the Ukraine - Russia war is being handled intelligently. There are no American boots on the ground, just military equipment. When there is a GOP senator blocking service promotions until he gets his way on abortion, it's pretty obvious Republicans should not be allowed to run a lemonade stall.

The risk of a reinforced hose bursting is very low, more likely to spring a leak. I always turn the supply taps of a washing machine off when it is not actually operating.

Obviously, you have never heard of selective intelligence. It's what one has when they are smart enough to retire at an early age. Supporting Trump is the antithesis of intelligence. Did you enjoy the work you did? I would still be working if I could. -

Assuming someone who buys Trump trading cards has the education level of a five year old is probably being charitable. -

If Americans want a dictator, they will get it in Trump. However, I wouldn't equate strong with someone who goofs off to play golf, and surrounds himself with sycophants. IIRC Trump achieved nothing during his presidency. No wall, no successful trade war, no healthcare plan. In 2020, he did send the US into a 25% rise in debt to GDP ratio, which illustrates his penchant for borrowing. -

Afghanistan was a poisoned chalice, gifted by Trump to Biden. The USA has been sending all its obsolete equipment to Ukraine - material which was going to be scrapped anyway. True, Putin has not been stopped. Only his death might do that. He certainly has not won either. On the economic front, he is losing badly. Perhaps you would prefer the alternative, a new USSR back at the West German border.
