  1. I don't know if it was included in the private insurance policy.
  2. I sold my house in Australia, bought a condo in Thailand. I don't understand why the OP can't maintain a bank account in the UK. I have one in Australia, plus investments. The last time I visited the bank ( actually a credit union ) was over 10 years ago, everything is done by internet and phone. I have two Australian debit cards for use in emergency. My will ( Thai and Australian ) states my assets in Australia are to go to my son there, my assets in Thailand go to my Thai GF. I found selling the house freed up a lot of capital, cut rates and insurance to zero, and I no longer had maintenance to concern me. It would be prudent to set up a joint account with your Thai partner, with sufficient funds for her to live on, while probate is settled in both countries. I understand Thai probate takes about 6 months. My GF has enough funds for 18 months in our joint account.
  3. You have a suspicious mind. My GF has no involvement with the private insurance, I am handling that.
  4. The only posts I give credence to are those with facts, data, trends and evidence. Conspiracy theories don't fall into those categories, neither do your posts.
  5. No thanks, one GF 23 years younger than me is quite enough. If I go to a massage shop or bar where I am not known, all I would have to do is say I don't have a GF. Photos on websites can be doctored, in the flesh can't.
  6. You'd be surprised. I once stayed in a Sheraton in New York with threadbare towels and a filthy windowsill.
  7. The CTPI is compulsory. Whether you do or don't have private car insurance is irrelevant.
  8. I don't insist on breakfast where I stay. I head out to the biggest hotel in town, which almost always has a buffet for 250 - 400 baht.
  9. Too late for me, I'm afraid.
  10. Don't have to worry about lice, do I?
  11. You don't have a GF to make your own adult movie?
  12. Can't remember, something with the word Pine in it. Coming into Mae Hong Son from Pai, a soi on the left just before the police station.
  13. Never felt the need to ghost anyone. One f##k off from me is usually enough.
  14. Big bed for me and my GF, clean linen and towels. Functioning aircon and plumbing. Price range 500 m- 800 baht/night. I always ask to inspect the room before we commit. My GF gives me the thumbs down or up. I remember one motel owner in Sukhothai who would not allow us to check, we walked out and got back in the car. Best room was in Mae Hong Son, huge with a very well cooked breakfast of scrambled eggs and bacon. IIRC 550 baht/night. We normally travel in low season, most of the hotels are near empty and pleased to have guests.
  15. It's a problem not having a copy of the current policy in the event of an accident, yes? I don't know if Roojai failed to deliver the policy to Phan post office, or whether the post office lost or mislaid it.
  16. It's obvious from your two posts bashing me you think too little.
  17. The food is cooked in a restaurant kitchen. I wait for it, then take it back to my condo to eat on my scooter. Don't bruise yourself jumping to conclusions.
  18. Keep It Simple, Stupid. Clippers only, no comb attached. All over, repeat every month. 2 weeks for the beard, which seems to grow twice as fast as the head hair,
  19. That's the insurer I am dealing with.
  20. I have had no problem transferring the equivalent of 800K baht in AUD.
  21. In case you have not noticed, there is something of a language barrier when communicating with a Thai insurance company, even when they are communicating in English.
  22. I'd rather track it from the kitchen to my scooter. Thanks for stopping by.
  23. The insurer has acknowledged I have paid the premium. I have a receipt. As other posters have pointed out, it's only the Por Ror Bor insurance which should be necessary. I am now thinking my GF tried to renew the registration without the Por ror bor, and has confused the two.
  24. It's not making much sense to me either, I am trying to navigate this from Australia.
  25. I suspect either my GF or the DLT official is confused.
