I have noticed several big pharmacies in Chiang Rai have closed down.

IME authorised service centres are money machines who are mainly interested in how much they can extract from a customer's wallet. For years now, I have had two independent mechanics in Chiang Rai. They keep my car and scooter in perfect running order, and cost considerably less than a service centre.

I have been using Lazada for 3 or 4 years. Recently, its system decided my password is incorrect. Which is absolute nonsense, as my password is copied and pasted from my Bitwarden vault. Attempts to fix this problem over a week have been unsuccessful, when I go into the forgot password route the system keeps telling me I have made too many attempts. Multiple calls and emails to Lazada have got me no further along the road. Enough, I am switching to Shopee. Are there any pitfalls with their system I should be aware of?

I've been off alcohol for the past seven months, so my post is solely out of academic interest. Prior to that, I preferred Sangsom over beer for dietary and taste reasons. Here, the only drinkable brand of beer seems to be Lao Dark. Many years ago, when I audited the laboratory of a large brewery in Australia, the chief chemist told me beer has a shelf life of six months at most, less in hotter climates. It's probably why beer here is variable in taste. I don't worry at all about what people think of my eating and drinking preferences.
