  1. If you are doing all the giving, and she gives nothing back, what are you waiting for? Go.
  2. Toast and Vegemite. Two poached eggs. Bran, stewed apple and ginger, topped with yoghurt. Washed down with a cup of tea.
  3. Being too sore for sex is a huge red flag.
  4. Perhaps one of the questions is redundant, given it's automatic someone opting out of submitting a tax return pays no tax.
  5. Absolute BS. You're the one peddling misinformation. What part of my wording " maybe a bone graft" did you not understand?
  6. IQ is a function of education, in a country where the system is designed to inculcate obedience and conformity. Development of students who question the status quo is dangerous to the ruling elite. Statistically, the difference between an IQ of 89 and one of 90 is meaningless, as is the relevance of your response.
  7. I agree. However, vote buying is less repugnant than voting with a gun pointed at you.
  8. Or have someone who will always do the ironing for you.
  9. I had one bout of gout in my big toe, could not bear the weight of a cotton sheet on it in bed. Doctor prescribed Indocid ( NSAID ). Pain gone in a few hours, I've never had a recurrence.
  10. I have had 3 implants, and can vouch for them. Two are nearly ten years old. Beware of any dentist who promises an implant within a couple of weeks, they have a high failure rate. A proper implant with maybe a bone graft takes several months, the success rate is 95%.
  11. I'm guessing you have an ample supply.
  12. You've never been kicked in the goolies? If not, don't worry. You're not missing anything.
  13. The last thing any government would want is for Thaksin to die in jail, it would make him a martyr to his supporters. While I am not a fan, the northern Thais I know much prefer him over Prayut, who they dismiss as a criminal.
  14. You probably can open an online account with some of the niche banks, here are a couple of links to try: https://www.ubank.com.au/ https://www.mebank.com.au/ I did have an interest-bearing account with mebank, opened and closed it with no fuss. I can't remember if they required an Australian address, I'll bet any bank will require a tax file number.
  15. Good for you. We all count our memories and achievements in different ways, according to what we love doing. At 80 yo, I know death is not all that far off. I prefer to focus on living.
  16. My GF and I joke about me as the ATM, I guess that means we are both comfortable with the term. Every Thai I meet for the first time cracks up when they ask for my name, and I reply ATM. Having said that, ATM's do have withdrawal limits. So do I.
  17. The only form of retirement poorer Thais have, is when they are no longer capable of working. Then they have to rely on what the rest of their family can provide. 600 baht/month at age 60, 700 at 70, 800 baht/month if they make it to 80. Most of the families in my GF's village work on the rice farms, some go further afield as tradespeople or laborers. The average family income is around 3000 baht/month. There's a very aged woman who walks between two villages to help clean up after funeral parties. She gets paid in food and the occasional 20 baht. She's quite delighted when I stop on the road and give her 100 baht.
  18. I would like to have had the knowledge of women in my youth that I have now, I would have avoided two very expensive mistakes. I have been able to move on, fortunately. Some never do.
  19. Everyone's physiology and response to medication is different. Cannabis oil and morphine do absolutely nothing for me. OTOH, I find kratom extract is very effective in terms of euphoria and pain relief. It's a matter of each person finding what works for them.

I only buy Michelins here, IMO the best for wet/greasy road conditions. Price is irrelevant, what's a life worth?
  21. You may mean chloral hydrate. Very powerful, it used to be known as a Mickey Finn in the days when people were shanghaied or robbed when incapacitated.
  22. Atarax is an antihistamine similar to Codiphen. I buy my Codiphen in Chiang Mai at Peera Pharmacy, 50 baht for 10 tablets. I have seen it as high as 130 baht in Chiang Rai.
  23. Everyone is different, that would have me peeing like a garden hose.
  24. If one wants to be up half a dozen times during the night peeing. Alcohol is a diuretic.
