  1. I guess you have achieved ROI on your solar system.
  2. I will leave that argument to our resident pot stirrers.
  3. I have marked part of the quote in red to show we are using time not monetary value. A simple example would be, the EV depreciated by the same amount as the ICE but much earlier on the ownership timeline. Both EV and ICE depreciated when leaving the dealer with the EV depreciating a significant amount more. Note, the above is a fictional example, please don't take it seriously.
  4. But only behind a keyboard for sure.
  5. There's a lot of fuzzy logic in these EV topics which is likely why the confused emoji is so widespread. Perhaps we should start handing out badges to our wonderful EV owners.
  6. Indeed, below is photo taken from behind the pits.
  7. So far my attempts to obtain details from dealers for a family member has provided inconsistent answers and copious quantities of verbal diarrhea. From what I have collected to date, the MG lifetime warranty appears to be a black hole based on how MG evaluates vehicle use, possibly using data collected at each service. One dealer said I could own the vehicle for 15 years and continue to be covered by battery and motor warranty if conditions of use were met. He could not provide detail for this scenario. I await copy of terms and conditions from the MG mothership but wont be holding my breath.
  8. Works well for simple fans but I would not use that method for the OP's fan which is a remote control version with solid state switching of the speed windings. You are right about using a dimmer, the noise at low speeds would drive someone crazy.
  9. Very likely a faulty PTC relay, cheap to replace and have a resistance value in ohms. Take relay and capacitor to shop for replacements. Refrigerator compressors are quite robust so there's a very good chance the motor has survived any overheat which is normally limited by an overheat switch.
  10. Screed to level then tile adhesive, a method rarely used in Thailand. Some big floor tiles set on adhesive with some rotavator assistance.
  11. Please place me on your ignore list.
  12. There will be a terms and conditions revision. I see no problem with long battery warranty periods but they will need to include degradation clauses. A second hand car salesmen in the future might say this car has active lifetime warranty but it will only take you to the local 7 and back on a full charge. I am off to Bangkok with the BIL this week, we might visit the MG mothership to ask about manufacturers warranty terms and conditions.
  13. @vinny41 suggested someone read the terms and conditions of MG lifetime warranties but it would seem some here prefer to have valid suggestions or questions like these flagged as troll posts. This of course only confirms what's already been said about the sensitive monitors of this topic. I too would like to read the conditions attached to this amazing lifetime warranty. A search reveals lots of excited media people repeating the same MG announcement but no one revealing the important detail. Is this a one million kilometre battery and motor warranty? If so what are the conditions.
  14. Its exactly what you are thinking, allows the screw terminals to be pulled out.
  15. I told you to follow the subject in a previous post, if you had listened; there would have been no need for you to make such ridiculous post. Having said that, please let me know if you are having difficulty keeping up or struggling with the technical side and I will make exceptions.
  16. My comment "The recipe for a throw away product" is specifically targeted at cell-to-body production where battery replacement might not be cost effective. If you read the past few posts beginning with new BYD vehicles, the subject flow is quite easy to follow.
  17. No doubt they can be replaced; but how much extra work does it involve compared to a regular self contained pack. Perhaps you have a link to the detail I cannot find or maybe share some insider info. I follow the development of ICE and EV technology and would appreciate any detail on how manufactures plan to make batteries that are integrated into a vehicles frame serviceable. There are many body-in-white diagrams explaining the idea but no in depth detail about repair and service.
  18. The recipe for a throw away product.
  19. BYD has started using cell-to-body techniques in production which I guess includes these new EV models. Would be interesting to know exactly how this has been implemented and does it make faulty battery replacement more difficult. There is much discussion around how this weight reducing method can make battery replacement difficult and is it the beginning of a true throw away vehicle.
  20. Making sure I pass all information in a link cooks my goose, it's a choice based on fact not opinion.
  21. Its not always a good idea to remove URL parameters because they often contain important information about what choices a visitor has made on a particular page. Examples would be multi product variants languages and map locations. URL parameters allow the browser to keep state and pass that state to others if required. Example - mywebsite.com?color=blue&size=20&language=english&location=TH Better to shorten the text and add the full URL like this. https://th.aliexpress.com Or this Click to view.
  22. Maybe he picked up the info here :-
  23. Yes and regen braking was around in 1905.
  24. The Toyota 1NZ-FXE Hybrid engine shown in your video post is currently used in several vehicles example would be the Prius. Toyota hybrids are a continuous improvement program using mostly the same technology. People define new technology in different ways which can lead to argument.
