  1. Not limited. You connect your own choice of router to the ONT and use WAN login detail provided by TOT.
  2. TOT installations vary between areas. Ask your local office if they can supply an ONT only which makes using your own equipment easier. Example - TOT ONT in our office.
  3. The video makes a good point when you consider the following. Unlike liquid fuel, power delivery for EV charging stations is a lot more complex than simply placing an order. Some locations will have capacity to meet a stations maximum demand where others might need a diversity plan to limit power when all chargers are in use. Diversity calculations happen at all levels of power distribution. Not all EV owners will be charging at home and demand for reliable high output charging facilities will increase. Link to article about capturing diversity
  4. If you can't handle a public forum that includes all walks, take your discussion to a private safe space. The signalling platform will be greatly reduced but at least you won't be suffering us low level simpletons. Attacking peoples education standard because they don't understand something is low but comes as no surprise here. One would think that people who have confidence in their choices along with the education to explain the technology can handle the negatives without personal attacks and compartments. On the other hand, it’s understandable that people will be a little sensitive after parting with large chunks of cash for products that lack a solid track record. PS In the future you might consider using the superior education to write a clear OP. This is a discussion about EVs available or coming to Thailand. This is not a discussion about Chinese cars
  5. Update I forgot to mention - There is a chance your receiver contains the dual voltage transformer but has the voltage selector omitted for the US market. An electronics repair shop can check if your transformer is dual voltage but hard linked at 120V.
  6. The Onkyo SR-606 rev-04 schematic shows voltage selection.
  7. Insurers will of course take control of this emerging hazard, they move quickly when something new tips the balance sheet. Personally I will sit on the fence and watch the EV gold rush develop, lots more entertainment to come that's for sure.
  8. Let me guess, he talks rubbish because your extensive experience and knowledge of Africa does not align with his opinion. Please enlighten us, the topic is - AFRICA -Have you? Would you?
  9. An introvert who went from a well paid teaching job in Japan to the Jungles of Africa. The demise and subsequent odd behaviour began with rejection of the Japanese work ethic and a series of videos aimed at crushing the dreams of anyone wishing to live and work in Japan. All of his original video content has disappeared.
  10. This guy appeared at my sister-in-laws rent rooms over in Banglamung Nong Prue M1 a few years back. He was living in Japan at the time and looking for a new adventure in Thailand. A lot of reasons to hate Africa https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sbTtvZVxMHY
  11. Which I would expect our so called DIY & Electrical Forum Expert to fully understand and not belittle people with jelly bean nonsense.
  12. I forgot to knock off nothing. Does not matter how much jelly bean nonsense you apply, my answer and the diagrams result are correct. There is a reason why the diagram shows 33V at the output and its not a mistake. Educate yourself and all will be revealed. PS Its possible the widely used diagram was taken from here https://rayshobby.net/wordpress/24vac-to-5vdc-conversion A little more help understanding half wave rectification with and without filter. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N7EUf1GAQuI
  13. The output voltage of 33V given in your diagram is correct (approx) for half wave rectification with filter and no load.
  14. Yes and its a good idea to start the BMS and new cell pack life with a clean slate. Balancing packs of large cells can take some time though.
  15. Not everyone is nervous, for some; DIY solar is a hobby and take ROI far less seriously. I on the other hand closely monitor the returns from solar systems parked on packaging sheds owned by my Thai family. It is of course wrong to claim solar is powering your home at no cost before payback is achieved. Towards the end of the day when work consumption drops off, our electric lift truck grabs a tiny amount of solar power but I never claim its surplus and free from cost.
  16. That is just crazy and you really should take this to Sofar before attempting any more firmware changes. It is possible they have several versions which changed in production over time. They should know what version you have from the serial number. You should send this to Sofar and ask why it differs
  17. I posted a photo of the manual to see if you have the exact match. They do not use any apps. Data is collected from the inverter and separate energy meter manually. My brother-in-law commissioned the inverter, he is very thorough when checking to see if the street meter shows any negative metering. The owner prefers not to give PEA any net metering evidence and always checks his meter after switching to no export. In the correct manual pins 15 and 16 are CT, pins 5 and 6 are the meter RS485 which is an alternative to using a CT. It would be interesting to see how the table in your manual differs from the table below. Anyway, to avoid complicating the issue with more checks I will leave you in the hands of Sofar.
  18. Small update. User of same model inverter as yours reports zero export when anti reflux is enabled and its power set to zero (2kw strings set independent). He checks this by viewing the street meter and a bi-direction energy meter on the main feed when solar production is greater than house consumption. His display reads Reflux Enable when anti reflux is enabled and goes back to Normal if the CT is disconnected or reversed. There are many variations of firmware inside these inverters often based on the country they were intended for. Having the incorrect manual in the box and the inability to change country code is a red flag. I hope Sofar have not got crossed wires over your inverter type and sent the wrong firmware. The proper factory included manual for this range of inverters is shown below.
  19. Google results can make you crazy - look at this one for 18AWG https://portablepowerguides.com/how-many-amps-can-18-gauge-wire-handle/
  20. You are likely not missing anything and picked up a result that has taken length into consideration. .5 or .75 multi strand cable will suffice for the short length you require. Most PC power connectors have the shared ground (black) doubled up.
  21. There are EV's on the road which are 5-6 years old have clocked 160,000+ kilometres and are still reporting 100% state of health at the battery. Can all manufacturers achieve this result, we have to wait and see.
  22. True and the setting to no export should result in a tiny import of about 10W. The inverter trends on the import side to avoid the meter creeping backwards.
