Australian Aged Pension
LosLobo replied to VOICEOVER's topic in Australia & Oceania Topics and Events
Sorry I was under the wrong impression that you already had some notification from Centrelink. My policy in life is why worry about something that might never happen. Nevertheless you still have a requirement to notify Centrelink when you are going to live in another country. You still might be getting some supplements which change after six weeks away and a rate which you are not entitled to. See some of the rules below: When you get an Aged Pension, you need to tell us you’re leaving Australia in some situations. You need to tell us about your travel if any of these apply. You: are going to live in another country will be away for more than 6 weeks get Age Pension under a social security agreement with another country are leaving Australia within 2 years after coming back to live and started getting a Pension or you or your partner are getting income from employment. If your Centrelink online account is linked to myGov, you can tell us about your travel plans online. If you don’t have these, you’ll need to create them. Australian Aged Pension
LosLobo replied to VOICEOVER's topic in Australia & Oceania Topics and Events
My letter was to tell me that I had been overseas for a long period and they wanted me to declare my intention to permanently live in Australia and the reasons why I was now claiming resident status for the aged pension. I suggest that you should not lie to them as that can carry penalties. Obviously they know that you left Australia and will know when you return. At the moment I suggest Centrelink only cares about their rules and regulations and have no interest in your tax liabilities or residency status for Taxation purposes. They are not like banks etc who need to know of change of address so they can arrange withholding tax. I don't understand your reasoning for not wanting to download your response on MyGov and then phone them to notify them so they will access it. -
Russia: Wagner mutiny shows real cracks in Putin authority - US
LosLobo replied to Social Media's topic in World News
The mutiny also shows real cracks in Putin's future Russia, which must be evident to Putin a self-professed authority on Russia's past glory and history. 'Those who cannot learn from history are doomed to repeat it' Georg Santayana 1863-1952. Today, I watched an interview with an interesting perspective about how today's conditions in Russia are now similar to those that predicated the past two major regime changes in their modern history, particularly the Russian Revolution and the demise of the USSR. The similarities were Russia's failed wars, WW1 and the Russo-Afghanistan War, the population suffering the wartime economic pain and loss of life, systemic corruption, all due to oppressive autocratic leadership. And the mutinies that eventually led to these events. Russian Revolution: Causes, Timeline & Bolsheviks | HISTORY afganwar.pdf (washington.edu) Why Did the Soviet Union Collapse? | Britannica -

Poll: A historic number of Americans don’t want a Biden-Trump rematch
LosLobo replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Your average life expectancy statistic is based on a male at birth, Trump in reality may have another 10 years and Biden 8.5 years so 2028 is statically probable for both. Though with Trump's past life style and obesity that might be a bit of a stretch, and that's not taking into account Trump's challenges from possible incarceration. I would also suggest that Trump's past choice of VP along your suggestions are no improvement over a political albatross. -
Australian Aged Pension

Looking at the video, I suggest that the form does not say that you cannot send the form online but only suggests that it should be posted. I have received similar when I applied for the pension in Oz after living in Thailand. I posted it back and they lost the form although their mail office had a record of it being received. Even though they still cancelled my pension application. I downloaded a copy of the form onto MyGov and phoned them and all was OK. -
I agree but the judge can influence repeated trials and DOJ “Jury Shopping” for a conviction for the same offence could be problematic. It could further exacerbate misguided public opinion and the House majority's even current unjustified perception of DOJ's bias, even more than it already has. hung jury | Wex | US Law | LII / Legal Information Institute (cornell.edu) How Many Times Can DOJ Try a Case After a Hung Jury? Assault on Kiev: Russian helicopters swoop above Ukraine's capital
LosLobo replied to Chris.B's topic in The War in Ukraine
Beside Prigozhin, there seems to be some difference of opinion between Putin, the Minister of Defence, and some of the Russian Security Services (ie the FSB, SVR, FSO and GRU). The Security Services are all administratively independent of one another and all should eventually report to Putin but the GRU seems to mainly report to the Minister of Defence. But the GRU forces seemed to have sided with Prigozhin here, so it is all very confusing, the whole structure is not marching to the same beat. And even the FSO is at odds with the GRU. I can foresee Putin may soon have to embark on a purge a la Stalin to remedy the situation and cement his control. -
Assault on Kiev: Russian helicopters swoop above Ukraine's capital
LosLobo replied to Chris.B's topic in The War in Ukraine
I agree very weird. There are a lot of unanswered questions here. I suggest that we only know what Putin wants us to know Something it not quite right! Who gave the order for Prigozhin's Wagner Group to be attacked? Who is in charge Putin or Minister of Defence? Why has Putin come out of this smelling like roses? Prigozhin absolved him of any blame saying he received bad information and the military are solely at fault. Why has Prigozhin only been exiled, normally all those involved in this sort of kabuki would be summarily shot? -

Australian Aged Pension
LosLobo replied to VOICEOVER's topic in Australia & Oceania Topics and Events
You have posted 408 posts on this forum all about the same very specific subject ie tax on the aged pension due to Australia non-residency. You keep on posting repeated information without adding anything new. This particular forum was previously well respected for informative constructive discussion over the 13 to 14 years before you came here along. Once a virtual book of knowledge, it is a now a former shadow of itself, now being clogged with your detritus. With respect, please give it a break. Or maybe consider opening a separate forum for yourself on your own pet subject. Some people still have an alert on this forum as the information here was once important to them. -

House GOP ponders action against DOJ in defense of Trump
LosLobo replied to Social Media's topic in World News
It is obvious why the GOP have censured Adam Schiff in the House over the Russia probe. He is very good at his job. What I find is rather curious in the above video is that Durham states: 'I don't really read the newspapers or listen to the news, I don't know that. ' Then in the video below he states: 'That's what I have read in the news' and then 'I know that I have read in the media' So he must either only watch the news on muted TV and read the teletext or read online news for these two statement to be true. I suggest he is just being disingenuous here and trying to be obfuscate the facts. -

I am basically lazy and I now find analysing data somewhat tedious and prefer others to do work for me. I am not a legal guru though I have a good understand of common law having studied commercial law, I am more of a numbers 'wonk'. In a past life, I was a Managing Project Data Analyst in the Aircraft Industry and cut my teeth post IT studies producing CEO reports and organisation's periodical technical/engineering publication. from raw data,
