  1. Population of The Falkland Islands voted to remain part of the United Kingdom. Anyway, it doesn't matter even if UK had no Navy. NATO has to back-up any member nation if invaded.
  2. Unlimited data, as is the norm for wired internet in Thailand. 12 month contract. Already have 300/300 at shop and speeds are always 'up there'. Can recommend!
  3. Many fibre internet special offers appear on my Facebook. Starting price 399 baht per month for 300/300 with free router and installation. I messaged True and received reply in excellent English.
  4. A good idea. I always carry two phones everywhere. I know there are such things as power banks but a phone provides more functions!
  5. I never asked, they offered to help for less than my agent charges. Best if you take a Thai person with you as they 'understand' each other!
  6. My IO operate a 'book system'. After each extension you can pay 2,000 baht and your name goes into the book for them to do your 90 day reports for you until your next extension. A tip gets you the VIP service i.e. telephone appointment, no form filling or questions, just hand in your passport and bank photocopies and they take your deskcam photo. They're always offering to help me in some way!
  7. In my own case that wasn't necessary. The IO asked me how much the agent charged and offered to 'do it for less'.
  8. Then your agent will either have to submit your 90 day reports upon your behalf or supply you with the address they've given to the IO so that you can do them. If you can't resolve this you could try going to the IO in the area you're actually living in and explain. If they're anything like my own IO they will jump at the chance to undercut your agents fees.
  9. Mine told me two criteria; 1) Married 2) Resident minimum 12 months.
  10. LatPhrao has provided a most superb solution. You need to obtain a copy of form TM30 from your landlord. 90 day reporting and extensions must use this address. No need for your agent to do your 90 day reporting for you (unless you've already paid in advance for the service). Easy to do at Immigration Office/by post/on-line.
  11. LatPhrao has put in into a nutshell. The key is the TM30 by his landlord. When he has this he'll know the address the IO have upon their records. He will then be able to make 90 day reports and apply for extensions with utmost ease.
  12. Don't think it's wrong, more of an alternative method. Also, everytime I log into my mobile 'phone account I seem to find more and more features. Problem is it's difficult for some of us to keep up-to-date with technology!
  13. You only ever use one address, always the latest one (and one 90 day report) at a time.
  14. Can confirm that my agent registered me at her apartments for the purpose of obtaining Non 'O' Retirement Visa combined with 12 months extension and the opening of a Bangkok Bank savings account. Before my first 90 day report fell due I moved to another Province and registered my new address with the local Immigration Office. No issues with 90 day reporting and my 'first' extension or since.

    Ear Wax

I suffered severe earache. Mrs knew of a very popular ENT doctor in the next town who has his own private High Street clinic. He said my ear canal was narrowed, infected and needed wax removing. Surprisingly, he did this immediately via suction tube, prescribed and dispensed antibiotic ear drops, antibiotic tablets and painkilling tablets. Resolved in a few days. Cost 1,200 baht.
  16. It states information will be 'of use' to police. Having an outstanding arrest warrant doesn't stop anyone leaving (or entering) the UK. Border Force are not police.
  17. Thanks for this. There's no 'SIM card switching' option on my 'phone. Therefore, I'm sure it won't!
  18. The OP is concerned that should his home country SIM lose signal, his 'phone will switch to his Thai SIM and use mobile data at expensive roaming rates. I'm certain that 'phones do not do that.
  19. That is exactly what I do when in UK. If your home country SIM loses signal your phone will not switch to using Thai SIM for mobile data.
  20. On my dual SIM android 'phone under settings - Dual SIM settings - you can select which SIM to use for default mobile data and also the default calling SIM. Can also completely turn off either (or both) SIM's.

  22. Enabling roaming doesn't cost anything. Ensure you turn off 'mobile data' and don't answer any calls. SMS is always free to receive.
