British man sentenced for rape in UK flees to Thailand
The Fugitive replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Disputed doesn't mean they are wrong of course. The pathologist involved was 'suspect'. Those police officers would not only have fitted up Dr. Crippen during their careers. Pardoning Dr. Crippen would open up a can of worms. The British Criminal Justice system is rotten to the core. -

Meaningless fees and amounts. Without the power to arrest or force entry into your home there is no way of collecting the debt. -

Doctor Crippen fled in disguise because he knew the police were going to fit him up. 97 years later, DNA evidence proved that's exactly what the police/pathologist did. -

Very good point. Can anyone be convicted in their absence? Doesn't seem right that you haven't had the opportunity to defend yourself. -
Pot Player was definitely around in 2011. https://lifehacker.com/the-best-video-player-for-windows-5822672

You need to have a word with lopburi3 (above post but 2) before something dreadful happens! Seriously, we don't know what else noshowjones has installed upon his laptop. I have found things from time to time that don't work without rebooting following install/uninstall.
-
Don't do that. You are so close. If one media player ever gives problems it's easy and free to download another. Restarting your laptop in between uninstalling the existing ones and installing Pot Player is important.
-
Don't worry. Important thing is you must be doing things correctly because it works OK on your desktop. Sometimes you can have too much installed and get conflicts. To make life easy, I would uninstall the MPC-HC and VLC. Go to Control Panel/Programs. Then, restart your laptop, and install instead the very good media player called 'Pot Player'. Download from this page. It's totally free. https://potplayer.daum.net/

If your Windows installation is fully updated you should not have any issues with display (that's where your graphic card and updated device drivers come into it). Is the problem lack of graphics or sound or both? Or is it that clicking 'open with MPC-HC' just does nothing?
-
I install and use it on two laptops and my desktop. Works equally well and in the same way on all three. Did you see any warnings at the very beginning when you installed about graphic cards?

Cannot understand that. I download the regular updated versions from one of the three links in the page I posted; https://codecguide.com/download_k-lite_codec_pack_standard.htm Download: Type: Location: Hosted By: HTTPS Server 1 Codec Guide HTTPS Server 2 Codec Guide HTTPS Server 3 (external) MajorGeeks

K-Lite Codec Pack is absolutely free. I use it now. Been using it for years.

My District Office was particularly resistant. Initially told must be legally married to a Thai and resident 12 months. When both applied requested yellow book again. Told to go back to British Embassy and obtain another translated and certified copy of my passport. They already had that from marriage registration. Gave up at that point. Three years later, by chance, at a local blood donor session my Mrs spoke to the head of Amphur Customer Services. He told his staff 'enough was enough' and to copy over the scanned image from our marriage and use that to issue my yellow book/pink ID card. Immigration take a photocopy at each retirement extension. Previously they took a copy of Mrs's blue book.

Most consistently reliable media player I have found to be; https://codecguide.com/download_k-lite_codec_pack_standard.htm The standard version here includes the actual media player plus all the codecs and settings most people are ever likely to need.

Agree! Holland (and Belgium) I found pleasant and friendly. No issues with the food but I'm not adventurous. Cafes, snacks, coffee, beer and especially their chocolate is great. For islands; Malta is great weather wise, Cyprus OK but Madeira does it for me. As regards North America, Mexico City and surrounding towns have everything. in South; Colombia, Brasil, Uruguay and Argentina are good. Chile less so. Spent 12 years in Paraguay but the poor (and worsening) infrastructure plus road blocks with all document checks was too much.

Very slow and VeePN proved unreliable in this case although Browsec did unblock the particular website. I subscribe to Surf Shark and it's never failed. Money well spent IMHO.

Totally agree. I thought I could manage (with a lot of patience) to view geo-blocked websites for free. However, I just tried Browsec and VeePN. On one blocked website VeePN failed to open it.

Have you tried a Panasonic Repair Centre? I've taken all sorts of things electrical and electronic (all makes of course). Once they told me the fix was simply a clip on a pipe that needed pushing back on. They didn't charge for that and they wouldn't accept a tip either.
