I understand your frustration and sympathise with you.

AFAIK all the offices run the same system, however each office can ask for more information from us if the feel the need.

To change from a retirement to a marriage extension this August I took perhaps 30 hours work on my part and at least 5 x 130 km round trips to immigration, 3 with my wife, before it was accepted and granted after 30 days "consideration".

I must have used and scrapped over 200 sheets of A4 printer paper and at least a dozen sheets of photo paper.

IMHO as they use the computers so much, It would save them time, money and storage space for every extension for every farang, if we could do it all on the PC then copy to a memory stick which they could run through a virus checker before loading it into the IO PC.

I am changing at Jomtien this month ,what was it that was wrong with your paperwork ,i have myself done all that Ubonjoe listed and from the list they gave me ,luckily its not far to drive ,unlike yourgoodself.

Watching the French TV series "War of the Worlds"

(mostly English language soundtrack with a bit of French)

Bloody awful, only an over the hill housewife can kill the alien robots (dog sized).

French police seem to all aim their guns in the air when they shoot, so can't hit the 'easy to kill' slow moving monsters.

Automatic rifles littering the roads, but the good guys can only pick up and miss with hand guns.

Thought it was quite good ,far better than that awful British version with the bird from Poldark in it ,that was rubbish.

  3. I see in the papers today that the pope has a piece of Jesus'es original crib ,it was given to the church in the middle ages ,considering that Jesus was just one of dozens of Phrophets at his time and it was at least 100 years before the church recognized him as THE ONE,wonder why anyone kept the crib for all that time in the first place .?

As I read it the internet speed is not the issue at all. The OP is stating that the issue is transferring (torrent already downloaded) from his HDD/SSD to an external source (thumb drive, external drive).

OP, are your destination drives USB3 (can usually tell if they have blue plastic inners at the connection)? And more importantly, are you plugging them into corresponding USB3 ports on your source machine? If not, you will still get transfer if plugging a USB3 into a USB2 (or even USB1.1) but the speed will be dictated by the source port.

OP, USB 3 to USB 3 should be no problem with transfer speeds. If you have a problem here (as you seem to be) check your drivers on your computer are up to date, especially chipset drivers. Try a different USB port if you haven't already.

Up until a short while ago i did not have a problem ,its just recently also once i have downloaded something ,i put them all in one file ,that is taking ages as well

And the internet speed as such satisfies your expectations?

What ISP do you have (3BB, ToT, AIS, ...)?

As far as I know, torrents are a popular target for throttling by the ISP?

If it is throttling, a VPN would be the easy route to bypass.

I am using 3bb i did have it instaled by a computer shop ,who i have used many times ,they did a great job saved everything i had on xp ,i use a vpn ,and no problem downloading fro torrents ,its just once its on the computer it takes ages to transfer the movie etc to a usb . all my usbs .
