They are delaying at the request of the Chinese so that the Chinese can say the Sinovac vaccine was first. 

They'd rather put their entire population at risk to save face of their cousins the Chinese. 

China trying to displace the US Dollar. They have little chance as nobody trusts them. Will be useful for Chinese trying to launder money into Thailand.

I understand this sentiment, however this type of thinking is exactly what Asians exploit in Westerners. Effectively, what you're saying is that there are no meaningful differences between countries, cultures, governments in how much they lie. And, such thinking is of course entirely false. 

The Asians know they are trying to subvert you but you inherently trust them more then they trust you which puts you at a strategic disadvantage

There is a continuing stream of new variants like UK, South Africa, and Brazil's P.1 that all vaccines must deal with. The US just reported the first 'recombinant' event between the UK and a new California strain.

Remember, Sinovac's vaccine is what China is selling overseas. Recall China's belated warnings about the virus as it bought up up the world's masks. The CCP frequently demonstrates its lack of interest in the world's well being. Do you want their vaccine?

 

Best post I've read in a very long time. Your last 2 sentences sum the situation nicely and what people need to keep top of mind when considering various claims, especially from China, as to the efficacy and safety of their vaccines - from all China manufactures, not just Sinovac. China, after all, is notorious for vaccine scandals.

@sandyf I guess this is sort of what you have been talking about for months. The Thai domestic tourism is going to take over. No need for the foreign tourism anymore. You were correct.

14 million Baht is TINY. Fraud at THAI would be orders of magnitude larger than this, probably.

I suspect their books being looked at in detail by the restructuring teams, especially the foreign members on behalf of foreign creditors, has revealed a bunch of issues and THAI (and the government) are admitting to something small to deflect attention from far larger frauds.

Very unrealistic. The full economic fallout is not even in effect yet. Many knock on effects will hit this year, particularly after they realize nearly no tourists are coming this year, and very few next year again. Property market will tank, many jobs will not return, there will likely be conflict in the region with China. 

They better start getting real and stop playing childish games.
