Well they have had this on the TV news for 15 minutes flat here on friday morning. You would get the idea a horrific crime has just happend. I assumed she was in the hospital but no she is a doctor, and seems to have no injuries. So did the swiss man shove her? Was she pushed or did he hit her but no black eye or bruises? They are hyper spewing. 'Lets go after this a Swiss miscreant ... oh yeah, and his nasty abuse spewing wife'. JUSTICE. Garf Thai media loves to do this I have to quit watching this junk & yes I am sure he is a jerk but looks more like a 'make up news', after that taxi motor cy rider attacked the German tourist earlier this week, excuse sexually assulated the German tourist.

Use Taylor Swift disappointment to fuel Thai soft power
Dcheech replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Slipped through their fingers, . More like the Poohbahs that be, never had a clue about Taylor Swift, until the Singapore concerts were announced. Singapore on the other hand has been on this for years, & that is how they got it. Flashback for soft power dreamers. Lady Gaga makes a fun quip about a fake Rolex in Bangkok& the Thai government has a hissy fit, then doubles down with yet another hissy about the Thai flag on her motorcycle. A couple weeks back the VIP section for Ed Sheeran’s concert got out of hand as only Poo-Yai Privileged are allowed to in Thailand. You reckon this has happened many times before, just not reported in the media. All reasons why Taylor Swift is going to Singapore. Perhaps the Thai Enquirer journos can get on this, albeit after a deep rethink of yesterdays opinion piece on punishing western tourists & expats for South Koreas immigration snubs to Thai citizens. That type of vindictive thinking, those ideas, do not lead to Soft Power, by the way. -
Thai doctor’s allergy leads to fatal dinner at Florida Disney World
Dcheech replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Always have. It is a long standing tradition here on Thaivisa, Asean Now. BTW, why are you questioning the culture of this forum?! -
Uh huh Korea gets heavy on Thai nationals for the same reason Japan & China do. They see many as not tourists but immigrants, illegal immigrants in search of jobs. Taking jobs from the locals. However the Thai Examiner true to its core values, pull s up “disrespecting Thailand”. A catch all phrase that Thailand has used since post Tom Yum Gung 97 economic meltdown to great affect. Suddenly it is DISCOVERED that western tourists & expats are the racist & mysoginistic ones. If Thailand can do little about Korea, and by extension China & Japan. They can refocus locals attention & ire on westerners. Moreso as tourism from China suffers another grim year due to their economic meltdown post Wuhan which shows no sign of stopping. This is a very good tactic. Admitting that you blew with the Sino-Slavic tourist push is too truthful. Best to go with what you know; deflection, blame, & fakery. Yawn.

What about Ferrari Joe or Joe Ferrari? He has entered the black hole of Thai news follow up. No clue what he is really doing. I would like to think he is in jail ... doing time. Still once the news curtain descends ... who knows.

Chiang Mai Air Quality and Pollution
Dcheech replied to Cheesekraft's topic in Air Pollution in Thailand
For all the heifers concerned about Chiang Mai AQ. The last 48 hours have seen a high pressure wave spill off the Yunnan plateau. This morning Doi Suthep as clear as its been since December. OTOH pretty fricking cold if making that 0600 gym run, gear up! -
Thai Airways confirms mega aircraft deal with Boeing
Dcheech replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Thai Airways and or the Thai government have a long standing, close working relationship with Boeing (and airbus for that matter), that is why you never hear anything about the 2001 737 bombing which killed one flight attendant and wounded 7 others. It got 'officially' and superficially blamed on Boeing. Boeing had to say nothing, as did Airbus, or no more airline purchases. At this point Boeing needs to sell more than airbus. Likely a very good price. -
Thai Airways confirms mega aircraft deal with Boeing
Dcheech replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
During Boeings twenty-five year, race to the bottom, “workplace diversity” has never, ever, been mentioned, until three weeks ago. Elon Musk and Donald Trump, noted aviation industry experts, came out with half baked statements, & no backing. I did not expect anyone to take these fake news makers and noted liars seriously. As usual I underestimate just how how hooked on political trolling & feuding people are these days. As for Boeing, twenty five years of "JackWelching" the company has brought it to this. It will soon be part of the US Socialist Aviation industry. Funded by taxpayers for military hardware as they cannot sell to private business. Like Lockheed, Northrup Grumman & General Dynamics. -
Ed Sheeran concert uproar prompts Paetongtarn to deny VIP noise
Dcheech replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
1 They are Pu-Yais, action cannot be taken against such special people. Still that it makes the news is a good sign. Usually this would be self censored by the Thai media. Then again it is likely because of the T mans kid it made the news at all. If it was a Generals daughter, a politician or rich families scion, they would kill the article, all to protect da sacred Pu-Yai. However the T man has enemies so his kids antics, and by extension, all those other Pu-Yais, cavorting in their VIP section, are fair game. YES! -
Why release of Thaksin could be a tipping point for Thai politics

Why release of Thaksin could be a tipping point for Thai politics
Dcheech replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Much ado & handwringing about nothing. I do not see why Thaksin is any different than the Leaders who did the bloody crackdowns in 92 - 76 - 73. They were all rehabilitated, obviously responsible for far greater misdeeds than the T Man. -
Most people with a brain the size of a walnut knew there were no WMD in Iraq and or if there were, nothing in an amount that would endanger other countries. Still a Republican President could lie & convince enough halfwits with a propaganda network help; FOX news, the rest is history. The world and the US is still dealing with the blowback from those lies TBL. And yet you want another potentially more dangerous Republican liar in charge?! CRAZY.
-
Republican long-term goals have always been the elimination of both Social Security (‘US Pension’) & Medicare, which they consider entitlements. Donald tried to drastically cut funds for Social Security in every one of his yearly budgets. He also promised to gut both during his second term. I smirk just thinking if this actually went through, how many of his supporters & general right wing blowhards on Asean Now & in Thailand in general, would have to up sticks and leave. This jaundiced attitude is a result of age, general oldfartitus and the fact while it would affect me too, it would be minor. Still there is something heartwarming about these right wing yellers & bleaters, getting a blowtorch applied to their hineys by their own man. Bring it on.

Thai Airways sues over passenger’s flight diversion criticism
Dcheech replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Sounds like a "Thai Netizen" quote, and what would you really expect from them? They a re trying to get more people to fly with them? Last flight was a Rome RT in 2014. After that trip NO MORE. After this lawsuit that is a DEFINITE NO for another couple years before I even look at you again. So much for getting this passenger back. By the way, Thai airways, what discipline did you met out for that pilot who punched a stewardess because she would not go get him a meal, was trying to do her job?! Nothing?!! Did she have to wai him for getting a fist in the face too? How about the company guys (pilots?) who would not give up their seats for passengers when you did not book properly? Did they not delay the flight? See, we potential customers remember that pucky, and how you let it fly, just like we will remember this. That means no Bangkok Airways too! You got your work cut out. Good luck- 341 replies

Foreigner Begging for Money in Bangkok Sparks Investigation
Dcheech replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
These backpackers have no initiative these days. If only they would take a look how down on their luck expats get by. Go out there & get a job in a call scam center, exporting or importing narcotics, or a finder for loan sharks. Many technically illegal but respected occupations here in LOS. Need to get out of the henna tatto parlors & show a bit a gumption. -

Altercation Turns Violent: Englishman and wife injured in Knife Duel
Dcheech replied to webfact's topic in Pattaya News

Northern Thailand Sees Major Decrease in Forest Fires
Dcheech replied to snoop1130's topic in Isaan News
On the Nan Phayao north loop trip (HWY 1148) a couple days back. Big swaths of recently burned new growth scrub forest. Poor region so what you going to do? Stop the Ban Nok people from getting some mushroom money when the rains come. -
Disrespecting Thailand yet again. How long o Lord, how long, and when will it end?! Yawn

Fobs (keys) For both Honda & Yamaha were a important item on checklist. Love the convenience but as much hassle as. Yamaha Filano, back up fob on initial bike purchase, 900 B. If you buy later 1500 B. If you lose both Fob & do not have backup, plus lose ID number. You are now in deep do do. Not just more money but painful hoops to jump through. That for the Yamaha.

Good to know. That said the TV news networks are going Full Metal Oratai this morning. It was bad enough for the last three days or so, but now with the confession they can keep going over (and over) the shocking details, the savage nature of the killings ... by ... wait for it ... Evil little Chocolate, Alp dwelling, banking, gnomes of evil .. naw my bs there ... Farangs in general as the differences between farang are a moot point to the local audience. Looks like they found a gift horse. WE are over 30 minutes Straight Oratai coverage right now with no end in site. Before the apologists arrive, we watch the morning news and Thai killers no matter the savagery, rarely get this kind of coverage. Ah well only a problem if you plan to live here long term ... like me. *$^# !!
