Thai economy set for boost as tourism and domestic consumption surge
racket replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
If consumption increases, then that will give BOT to raise rates further, especially if inflation picks up with all this expected inflation coming to fruition. Thai have a record high of personal debt, so this "consumption" could be debt driven, which isn't always as productive. -

Before you even think about buying property in Thailand, it is crucial to educate yourself with two essential books. These books are: 1. "Buying Property in Thailand: Essential Guide" by Rodney Waller 2. "Pattaya Property and Thailand's Real Estate - How to Buy Thai Condominiums, Apartments, Homes & Villas" by Nick Pendrell You can find these books on Amazon. It is essential to invest time in proper education and research. Never let FOMO push you into purchasing anything in Thailand until you are absolutely certain that the property is legitimate and secure. Keep in mind that corruption exists throughout the country, and foreigners have often fallen victim to scams like these for many years. Despite numerous complaints against such practices, it is disheartening to see that the authorities in Thailand have taken no action to address this issue. This lack of action speaks volumes.

To address this issue promptly, one immediate solution is to adopt a market-driven Darwinistic approach known as Capitalism. By allowing companies like Uber, Grab, Bolt, and other third-party providers to take over the subsidized monopoly, we can bring about significant reductions in taxi fares due to increased competition and supply. This shift would eliminate the need for relying on non-verbal communication cues, as the pricing would be clearly stated upfront, enabling customers to make informed decisions without any hassle. Under this system, efficient and reliable taxi companies will be incentivized and rewarded, while underperforming ones will naturally be phased out over time.

Mai Sai back to back visa exemption (UK passport)
racket replied to damole's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Land border crossings are allowed 2 times per calendar year, except for flying in and out. The 45 days exemption has been returned to normal 30 days, which is what she will get if she does a border run. Once done, she can do another border run as well. Nope, I don't see any reason for being denied entry at all. Edit: Chiangmaivisarun a reputable company in Chiangmai that do border runs to Mae Sai. -
Lol, he knew from the beginning he wouldn't become PM. This whole thing is just a show off. He'll be fine, probably get a high paying job somewhere and some well deserved P*zzy down the road. It's a freak show folks!

Thailand’s Democrats deny seeking to join Move Forward Party-led coalition
racket replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
The entire election in Thailand is nothing more than a facade; true democracy is non-existent. The manipulation of elections has been occurring consistently since 2014. It is difficult to fathom how he can manage to secure more than 60 senators unless he drastically changes his stance and transforms into a mere replica of the Pheu Thai Party, essentially becoming a Pheu Thai Party 2.0. -
Move Forward Party to Submit 45 Bills for Amendments and New Laws

Move Forward Party to Submit 45 Bills for Amendments and New Laws

Tell that to Thais who can't afford quality health care, or northerners who suffer from hazard polluted smoke that kills and injures thousands each year... To make such a comment, ridiculous! -
Move Forward Party to Submit 45 Bills for Amendments and New Laws
racket replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Priorities, lol! I just hope and pray this party isn't aligned with the woke globalist agenda. If these people are selected by the Davos/WEF crowd then the young Thai voter will be screwed yet again for another generation. Who is this guy Pita Limjaroenrat anyway, and where did he come from all of a sudden? Wikipedia says he's a student of Harvard and MIT which makes him a perfect candidate amongst the globalist elite. I'd suspect the IMF can't wait to offer billions of $$ in loans to ramp up spending and set the stage for large foreign financial corporations to slowly sneak into the Thai economy and start the robbery. Feels like young MFP voters are having their Barack Obama moment, which was a A big trojan horse! Too early to celebrate, but if the 100-senators doesn't vote him in; there's no way he becomes PM. Plus, the more parties they cooperate with to form a government, the less of these bills comes a reality. Thailand certainly needs a young fresh leader, but I'm not a fan of someone making useless priorities by putting gay marriage their 2nd top enactment. Plain and stupid!- 127 replies

Taxes always increase overtime, even if you think its not a lot in todays environment. So it's a bad proposal to begin with.

Move Forward Scores Surprise Victory; Pita To Become PM
racket replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
In the realm of politics, individuals can receive praise without any notable accomplishments to their name. This particular individual is a young and fresh face, which is precisely what Thailand requires. After decades of hopelessness among both the young and old, who have witnessed nothing but corruption and polarization between the impoverished and affluent, a change in leadership is desperately needed. However, transforming the direction of the nation will require years of dedication, and the powerful internal establishment will be closely monitoring every move made by this individual. While it's a promising beginning, the effects of their actions won't be immediately evident to those seeking change, as progress will take time. -

Thailand’s struggle with high household debt and political promises
racket replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Inflation have made things worse, and having the government to subsidize loans and hand out money to ordinary people, is the root of all debt problems to start with. Government need to step out of the way, and let the market handle it. Those who have lent out money must take responsibility if they are not getting paid back. -

What if her business requires a car? Her children also need to attend school. The fact of the matter is, social media has played a huge part of this problem. Everyone wants to show off stuff they can't afford, to impress others who don't seem to care anyways. -

For those who don't know. If you own a bike in Thailand; you have to have mandatory insurance and pay annual motor tax. The insurance you get will cover health care costs as well as third-party costs should you incur damage to others. Hospitals will get reimbursed from the insurance company. If you are a tourists renting a bike. You'll definitely need health insurance that covers motorbike accidents, but you must (in most cases) have a drivers license and should have wear a helmet during the accident. Otherwise, the insurance company won't pay any liabilities. Be careful out there, and hopefully the 25 y/o man gets back to normal soon. -
I have been off deodorants completely. Instead I use Aloe Vera for my under arms. I also use it for my hair and face cream. It doesn't smell anything but it definitely keeps you dry. You can buy them in Tesco or Big C. I think they are about 180-200 baht and lasts for months. Way more healthier than all the chemicals you get from deodorants.
