  1. Good news for once in AN, and the headline here in Cambodia (Saturday 2 September 2023): Hun Sen, president of the Supreme Privy Council of the King, expressed his sincere congratulation to former Thai Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra, who was pardoned by the Thai king. https://www.khmertimeskh.com/501353351/former-pm-congratulates-thaksin-shinawatra-who-was-pardoned-by-the-thai-king/ To all the "anti Thaksin" brigade, and IMO, I hope he will remain under observation in hospital then be released on compassionate grounds and for good behaviour! No further comment from me.
  2. Breaking News on "The Nation" FB page here on my computer in Siem Reap: (from 8 years down to 1 year). Well done, Sir.
  3. For reference from link to OP: On the road, the authorities found the lifeless body of a store worker, (passenger) Seat belt???
  4. Dump a load of chicken manure at his house!
  5. I wonder if the doctor advised him not to drive?
  6. Thanks for reminding me. The main petrol station where I lived near Nong Rua (Khon Kaen) was ESSO. PTT and PT were out of town. This ESSO station was the only one that gave a free 1.5 litre bottle of drinking water at that time when you purchased 1000 baht of fuel. Not much, I know, but useful on long journeys when the other outlets gave you s-d all! PTT stations were just comfort breaks for me (7-11 and toilets), not for filling up with fuel.
  7. Khon Kaen, Udon Thani, Nongkhai??
  8. Nothing wrong with me at all. I lived in the North of Thailand throughout the entirety of his tenure as PM and I witnessed all the good he did for the Thai people especially across the North. With respect, were you living in Thailand throughout his tenure as PM or have you just jumped on the "anti" bandwagon?
  9. Well done Sir. I wish you every success from here in Siem Reap. You will soon be back home.
  10. Great news - another dinosaur heading for extinction!
  11. Looking at the photos, my thought as well. Thanks.
  12. Yes, thanks, I totally agree. For people living in the North of Thailand (with flights not having to connect with International flights at BKK) DMK is far more convenient. Most Inter Provincial buses from across the North, stop at Future Park Rangsit which is just a few minutes by taxi to DMK (just down the road). With Inter Provincial SRT trains now stopping at the new DMK station IMO DMK airport will be even busier. Will be great to see a third Terminal. I have used the Rangsit - DMK route on many occasions.
  13. With the island's reputation, maybe to prevent this:
  14. Out of a Thai population of 71.6 million (2021 Google)! (No further comment from me so do not bother to reply).
  15. Courtesy "The Beatles"- Roll up for the Mystery TourThe Magical Mystery TourIs waiting to take you awayWaiting to take you away… ........... to see the beer and go-go bars, sex clubs, pot shops, beach brawls, an unfinished towering concrete monstrocity, etc.etc.
  16. Like those now running in India - without balloons and bunting of course?? https://www.mechanical-farm.com/solar-train/
  17. That must have been hair raising!!
  18. I wonder what was being sung at the time. Perhaps "My Heart will go on"?? ( Celine Dion from the film "Titanic")
  19. Whatever the sarcasm, bitterness, hate and praise being posted on AN about Mister Thaksin, he is entitled to a hospital visit from his daughter, just the same for you should you end up sick!!
  20. You are welcome - I am glad I have brought some happiness into your life. Cheers!
  21. If only a few passengers and not commercially viable to do so - why keep? Freebies for local dignitaries will disappear? For reference:- Thai Vietjet also fly from BKK. Thai Air Asia, Nok Air and Thai Lion Air from DMK. So plenty of flights.
  22. Thailand has MICE cities, now a PUP one (Punch Up Pattaya)?
