Hi guys,
I cant remember how many but i saw some topics about going out of thailand and do a new visa and come or or likewise. And im not following the news closely since i read all type of visas are safe to stay till 31 July. My visa is NON-O multi and it expired on 5 may already. I already did my last 90 days so i must go to Savanakhet and get a new non-o.
My question here is is something changed with 31 july Auto visa or not? NON-O multi is still safe or not even though its expired already?
thanks a lot.

Do you have a source of that info?
All visa types are safe till 31 July, right? so why need a travel to SAV right now? Did i miss something? Because my non-o multi expired 5 may (1 year finish) am not safe?! im over stay?? Something changed about 31 july?
thanks
-
Why do you want to go to SAV to do a visa right now? All visas are auto extended till July 31. You dont need to do anything but wait.
My NON-O multi visa expired 5 may (not 90 day, 1 year finished may 5) Im waiting at home so far for July 31, then i will go to SAV to do my new NON-O multi.
Borders are open only for neighbouring countries nationals if im not mistaken.

Well my non-o visa expired 5 may. (2 days ago) Im little bit panic (common we all know the feeling, overstay or likewise) but i know im safe till 31 july. Although some borders are opened and they are for thai nationals and i think for pass holders (laos, myanmmar ..etc.)
Yes you are safe till 31 july, just stay at home.

Can I ask where you live, where are police asking for a passport at traffic stops ? I have never heard of a passport being asked for at a traffic stop, most people would be concerned if that is starting to happen.
im living both in Khon Kaen and Bangkok

Not sure where you get the idea that there will be military roadblocks during or after the lockdown. After the lockdown and its business as usual, you may encounter a police traffic stop where a license is required.
The whole "must carry passport" is a bit of a myth, 99% of people living here have never been asked to show a passport at a police stop or otherwise
In the rare occasion , if at all, you get asked to show a passport, a copy will most likely be fine.
well im always being asked when its a traffic stop. 1st my driving license and 2nd my passport. Although once i heard from someone saying normal police cannot ask your passport, must be an immigration officer for that around.
-
Im not very sure it is going to work or not BUT i know some people around me doing it. Though so far no police stopped them and saw the result.
BUT my question is, what are you going to do if police says he THINKS it can be fake, its a copy at the end of the day, right? You need to go to police station with them, then call someone to bring your original passport and so on...
I also personally think its a funny idea. Seriously how can someone be sure its real? its a printed piece of paper... You know what magics you can do with photoshop these days. 15 years in Thailand and I will be very honest, never stopped by a police in any kind of public transportation and asked for my passport (doesnt mean i wont be asked) But yes when im driving my car thats the first thing they ask, interesting.
My suggestion is, just do like thais. Buy a small waist bag and put things in it.

If they anticipated the borders opening any time soon they wouldn't have extended the automatic extension amnesty to July 31st. It may be opened in between for Lao citizens to return, but not foreigners.
If you need to cross a border for any reason, I wouldn't lose any sleep over it as your permission of stay is already extended to July 31st and thereafter pending further announcements.
Lao, Cambodia confirmed cases of Covid were identified much later than Thailand's first case, so effectively they are behind and yet to peak and decline, as is currently the situation in Thailand.
Just my own opinion looking at the bigger picture, at least August, more probably September before we see any land borders opening to foreigners.
agreed. They wouldnt give another 3 months PLUS 22 border opened since last saturday for thai citizens only. I think lao too.
-
In my friends case, they also asked a letter from his work showing amount of his salary. Plus if i remember correct also last 3 months payment slip. (this one can be only 1 month though)
Also you need to apply with your wife, they will come to your house and check the reality of your marriage and talk with neighbors about you and your wife.

Thank you.
You are welcome and enjoy your free 3 months ????
Although i strongly suggest to do your new visa or new 90 days as soon as possible, can you imagine how many farangs will be in savanakhet to do visa? I scare embassy there will take some actions such as appointment or likewise. They sure know whats coming!

You are safe till 31 july. Im kind of in the same situation with you. The government official website Order no 9 clearly puts non-o visa type in this 3 month auto expansion.
Although some borders are opened last saturday. Im not sure if its only for Thai nationals. I think its not for farangs.
Shortly: you are safe till 31 july

yes but I think we should think about getting a new NON O visa before JULY 31, as i guess everybody will wait and consulate will be overcrowded in august.
i think now the borders are close. So we have to wait till they open again. And also we need to be sure thai embassy is also open and ready to give new visas. I have another question here.. are they going to ask a hospital report saying you have no corona?

Can you also confirm that if you are here with a Non-O marriage (multy entry visa allowing 90 days in the country) that will expire soon (before July 31), you do not need to leave the country until JULY 31 ?
Thank you !
Thailand is good after all ????
same situation here, most likely we are safe. Enjoy your 3 months

Does the Thai version of this document say anuything about people outside of Thailand that have visas/re-entry permits running out and cannot enter?
just my opinion.
you are not in thailand i believe. so.. i think this 2 laws has nothing with you but for the people who are in thailand... so i would say your visas are dead.

Similar story here - we are both on 60-day extensions of 90-day Non-O entries - but I applied before the initial amnesty was announced. They assured me I would not be allowed to get another Non-O Visa - but I will be, as soon as the borders open.
I am assuming this amnesty covers us, because our initial 90-day entries ended *after* the March cutoff date, But if anyone believes otherwise, feel free to advise on what Immigration expect us to do, if the borders are still closed when our 60-day extensions run out.
im sure it covers all visas. no need to worry. they are just being government and trying to look pro, thats all, i entered the country around 3 march with my non-o multi, my 1 year visa expire 5 may.. so i will not go to savanakhet and get a new non-o till july 31, but after 5 may, i need to leave if they open borders before 31 july. same for everyone. and yes i have a feeling they are going to do that, like open borders before 31

My non-o will expire 5 may. i must go to savanakhet and do a new 1 year one. But it seems i can wait without any problem till 31 july.

Watch That mate, I Went to Immigration Yesterday to Extend my 90 Day Permission to stay on my Non-Imm " O " Which was due to expire on the 30th April, I Was Denied the " Free One " But They DID Sell me the 60 Day extension based on Marriage & Told me NO MORRE Unless I have 400k in the bank......Baffled Me, But You daren't Argue with them Even when you think THEY are in the Wrong !!
Hi,
im not sure but it seems they rejected you because you went early and asked for that free visa. You should stay at home and do nothing and free visa would come to your house ???? I think thats what happened to you tbh.
After i personally read the official government website, im pretty sure non-o marriage is in the auto extension. it says 'who are allowed to stay in the kingdom according to the type of visa are allowed to stay in the kingdom' so.. you & I have non-o which is a type of visa allowing me temporary stay in thailand... so we are in the situation and in the order here.
I think we are safe bro, no need to worry. Of course officially they need to play safe and add something like some visa types, blah blah.. maybe they are talking about like ppl come here for seminar or likewise.

My understanding is if you have a retirement extension that you do not want to renew then a embassy letter is needed however oz embassy has said recently no more letters since automatic extension.
sorry dont know about retirement one, but for this auto extension (for the april and the new one) all you need to do is sit at home and relax your 3 free months. No need to go to immigration too.

How about those in a non B extension???? My visa will expire on the last day of April and the paperwork for it isn’t ready yet.
I think this auto extension is the same as for april, all visa types. no need to go to immigration.. just wait at home for july.

Great news, so its the same as the first extension, for all visa types, no need to go to immigration... because my 1 year non-o multi marriage will expire in 5th may. so i can wait to go to savanakhet for another 3 months..
