  1. i dont know where you are living but you cannot apply for anything in khon kaen or nonthaburi if your visa is expired.

i tried both immigration. they told me they cannot and wont do anything because my visa is expired. im talking about expired visas 60 days extension. Not talking about 1 year extension. Khon kaen IO is ok with 1 year extension even though its expired but Nonthaburi IO still says no.

  2. Well i have really good friends in nakhon sawan immigration. we are really close. go drink together and do other things. we are good friends. She is a great person, honest and doing her work great. anyway, one day we were out for some drinks and i was talking to her about the behave of IO officers and why they really like to refuse or trying to find things with the documents... what she told me shocked me: because many IO officers started to open visa agencies under some family name or likewise. Then they refuse the docs and send people to these agencies.. to get some money.

  3. Hi,

im not sure about the documents but i dont think you need anything to get a driver licence. Your retirement visa should be enough. If you want the car on your name, yes you need residence (again not sure if the yellow book would be enough or not). No rental document needed as the house is your wife's.

A lawyer or agent can do all for you in few days for some extra bucks.

    UbonJoe,

In another post you had a list of required documents for a one year extension of stay based on marriage.  When you say "updated" Kor Ror 2 marriage registry, does that mean i have to go back to the office that did the original kor ror 2 and get another one?

i'm renewing my one year extension of stay (based on marriage).

yes, that means you need to go to any amphoe near you with your wife. They will print her marriage status in 2 min. Check the stamp, sometimes they forget and its the most important thing. i suggest take it 2-3 days before going to IO.

  5. Well, basically i was rejected because of my bank statement.

I got clear 43k but when its cut from governmnet insurance + tax + common company investment the money on the statement is around 38k not 40k

Because of this im rejected. It was not a problem im working in bangkok, it was not a problem anything...

And yes i show them my salary slip, but they clearly said the money coming to bank os important..

Well no other options. Called my lawyer friend... 25k + 2 weeks time.. will get my 1 year non-o..

I didnt want to do this way, i plated all ok. But they didnt give me another option. So my plan is get this 25k 1 year visa and then do the real one after covid. And yes after september i will see clear more than 40k in the bank statement...

If your wife has a house in KhonKaen, it will be easy applying there.

But most probably IO will want you to do your TM30 first.  So don't forget to bring your house-book when your wife and yourself go there on monday, so that it can be done on the spot and open the road for your 60-day or 1-year extension application.

    Cheers and success!

    thanks, @Peter Denis

but i can do both at the same day, right? TM30 and the 1 year or 60 day application?

Nonthaburi have a reputation of being the Roguest of Rogue offices, so I am not surprised you encounter problems when dealing with them.

Temporarily relocating is indeed an option when your local office does not want to accept your application when your permission to stay already expired, and you are now on the Amnesty.

But simply going to another more accomodating office as you are planning to do, won't work as you need to be 'settled' in the province of that other IO in order to apply for a 60-day or a 1-year extension (not required for a 30-day extension of stay application for those on a VE or Tourist Visa).  So you would need to have a rental contract (or the house-book of the place your wife owns over there) and do your TM-30 (or TM-27) for change of address first.

Note: It is not necessary to physically relocate if you prefer staying at your place in Nonthaburi, but without having first administratively relocated the Khon Kaen - or any other - office will not accept your application.

Well my wife is from khon kaen. We have house there on her name. And shes working as a hight position government officer. Me and she callled the IO 2 times. And explained that house is in kk but working in bkk. Visa expired.. can extend it or not? Both calls they said no problem can.

Well we will see on monday. If still cannot i have someone will help me for.... 25k ehem ehem..

I will write kk io report after come back to bangkok which is wednesday. Ohh i never did tm30 since ia have non-o like 4 5 years now.

  8. Well i know how relax and happy you are and im happy you are ok now. And no more stress or headaches.

But... i dont think you beat them. At the end of day they got what they want.. more photos.. more copies..

But yes you did it in 1 day. I dont know wht its a common thing with the IO that they really dont want to do it at your first visit. There must be something with it. Maybe they want to check like you can do it or not. If you made fake things maybe you cannot do again or likewise. Dont know. But yes they have this habbit of not to do at the first visit.

Im going to khon kaen from bangkok tjis monday to extend my expired non o and im doing it just because nonthaburi IO refused to do it for some reason that i dont know... im full ready and sure i have all the paper work.. but im also sure they will find something and send me back to bangkok and do new things...

Wish me luck, i hope i can beat them too. 555

Thank you all for your replies, I have been absent for a while since my first post.

After reading everything , if I understand well, in theory I should have canceled my worpermit / visa and have a letter from the employer to pass airport immigration but in practice we can leave the country without all of that and without any problems..

Anyway appreciate your sharing of experiences

    hi again,

your employer can do it for you. No need to worry about they will do or not because they have to. They need to show that your not working there anymore. But if you are someone want to play really safe and feel ok, yes you can do that at labor office by yourself. You need a letter from your big boss telling you want to cancel your work permit and not working there anymore. Now after this you really need to go to immigration office and tell them your not working there anymore and give them the letter. They will stamp your passport and tell you that you have 24 hours to leave the country. Or you can pay 1900 baht and stay 1 week more. (if this not changed)

You also need that letter to leave the country. At this point im not sure you need that or not because you already cancelled everything and theres another stamp in your passport. Please bare in mind that after cancelling your visa at IO your not on non-b anymore. So at this point probably you can leave the country. But if you havent done these steps and you want to leave the country while your passport still has non-b you really need that letter.

also your last working day is the date on that letter. thats very important.

easy way: just get that letter, check the date on it (its your last day in thailand) then all is ok

    What? who ask? where ?

Im not sure about airport but if you have non-b and want to leave the country without a letter from your employee telling your not working there anymore, you just cannot leave. land border IO will not let you go. happened to many of my friends. they dont because of legal things. Maybe you are running away from something and likewise. its a well known thing.

I think you are confusing Thailand with Qatar. No letter or proof of paying taxes is required.
