When last in vietnam Saigon I was warned on separate occasions not to take my man bag due to motor bike snatch thieves. Never warned even once in Bangkok in 12 years.
Both Cambodia and vietnam far more dangerous than thailand

I'll disagree. I was barely using banknotes in Bangkok, apart from 7-11 and some cheaper coffee shops or at food courts.
Debit card from Kbank for everything else: supermarkets (Tesco, BigC, Villa, Tops).
Gourmet Market : QR code payment (because it's cool).
Markets like Chatuchak or food courts still take cash, although if they follow China's example, you might pay QR code there as well.
7-11 accepts AliPay and WeChat pay, but I'm not Chinese, and wasn't bothered to buy the 7-11 card to put money on it. Tue Money app was too complicated to set up and in Thai if I am not mistaken. They take credit cards over 300 or 500 baht, not sure about debit.
Every other place that is priced in the range of 200-300 baht took my debit card. I think there was 1 restaurant out of 100 that said to me they only take credit cards.
yes of course supermarkets and 7/11s but that's not necessarily what tourists use cards for. A 2 week millionaire isn't going to stock up at tesco ..Russians excluded lol
The point was Vietnam and philippines were so far out they didn't even make the the top twenty where thailand had 3 cities mentioned. You need to go back a few posts with my discussion with britmanto to see the relevance

Like chalk and cheese. Why are you trying so hard? The Philippine bashers don't even rate compared to your relentless pumping
There is good reason why Thailand wins every award every year as the top tourist destination and The Philippines barely rate a mention

And they have shown their passion in the past as evidenced by the yellow and red shirt movements with widespread occupations of the streets, etc.
But they never seem to protest against coup leaders with the passion they have in the past against democratically elected governments. They seem to enjoy the stability of a dictatorship. The last 5 years were certainly very quite and if there was another one the Thais would probably embrace it, sad but true

OK - you do need to count calories on KETO if the end goal is weight reduction. That said, I would think this is not the time to start, given that she is pregnant and would not need the keto flu, nor the initial lack of energy/motivation that she will have to go through in order to achieve ketosis.
To the op - look at your caloric intake, reduce it slightly & go for a walk/increase your activity. I would think exercise of any form will aid in your weight management & mood.
Wrong!! I have been hard core Keto (atkins) less than 20 grams of carbs per day and never ever counted calories and dropped 20kg to my target weight which I maintain. Ketosis itself will take care of overeating because the cravings just go away.
I never had keto flu or lack of energy, quite the opposite and keto flu never killed anyone. Walking will do not much for serious weight control, you need to get your heart rate way up to gain any benefits and walking doesn't cut it, you can see fat people walking every day..yep still fat!
I strongly suggest you do some research on ketosis

I'm not a fan of "go fund me"
No worries there nobody is going to fund a dirty 70 year old pervert sexpat.
Well that's how the west see expats in thailand and cant blame them really because its partially true
Go fund me works for 20 year tourists wanting to go home and not for expats that will stay on

Let whoever you want in, but actual clubs with good music, based in selling alcohol and not tush. Music, dancing, clubs, you know, real clubs. The kind people travel the world to come to, the kind top DJ's get flown to play at. As it stands Pattaya is an absolute bore. It is the world's most pathetic senior living community, Get some clubs in there and change the entire vibe and image!
People don't fly halfway around the world for something they can get back home and that's serious nightclubbing in classy venues. You sound young and naive

Singletons renting cheapish digs probably won't feel a squeeze. We all know how easy the life can be and most would probably like to stay, but if the figures don't tally and it's more trouble than it's worth (esp if one has kids), then time to go surely...
Singles renting cheap shoe boxes around 4k/month do so for beer and girl money. The numbers don't add up when the shock of health insurance premiums come into play . lets face it nobody renting cheapish digs as you put it do so to channel savings into a health plan they may never use ..health care has been out of mind out of site until this last year when the government is now insisting we all have it,,, time to go surely for many

"Very Hard to Sell"
Doesn't make sense. If it was easy to buy then for the seller it was easy to sell

Of course, it is a higher risk/reward relationship, but I think even the market average tends to beat property prices.
Unless of course you were holding 10 years ago during the global financial crisis that wiped out millions of stockholders. market dropped so damn quickly that stop losses were unable to be triggered . That's liquidity for you

Not another gloom and doom topic on Thaivisa, We all know the exchange rates are not in our favour and we don't need reminding everyday that it isn't.
There is nothing we can do about the strength of the BAHT let's move on to other more interesting topics.
Not gloom and doom for those of us who transfered wealth to thai banks many years ago. Of course the Tv financial gurus saying " never put even $1 into a thai 3rd world bank" did not do to well.
many more years of the baht destroying most foreign currency still to come..bring it on ????
