You HAVE to be joking! - Have you been reading those tourist magazines that get paid to publish that rot. In THE VERY SAME WEEK Phuket beaches were declared the "Best in the world" local news headlined the outpouring of the black mess of raw sewage and industrial untreated waste onto "the best beach in the world"
Go to Australia mate and head off around its coastline. Go and look at THOUSANDS of pristine beached - many without a single human foot print they are so unspoiled.
Look at the pic. one of THOUSANDS - -
Not the best comparison. I don't see any people or a single resort, restaurant bar or cheap rent a girls in that pic. How can you compare it to Phuket? apples and oranges mate

Your question was rambling and needed info that only the post office could provide.

You need a HOTEL, not a condo. Condos are for long-term residents only, not short-term tourists.
Ha ha sure . Here is whats available for 3k per night for 2 weeks. 16 pages of it

The Thai trade balance is slipping quite rapidly which indicates that any import increases are not compensating for the export losses.
Thailand is the 20th largest export economy in the world

Yes there are nice spots on Phuket, just like anywhere with bad rep...but does average tourist generally see them? No
Same as Phuket is overpriced? Sure it is ...if all you see is Tiger complex on Bangla...but Tiger ≠ Bangla, Bangla ≠ Patong, Patong ≠ Phuket, Phuket ≠ Thailand.
Exclude Tiger, Bangla is cheaper than similar in BKK, exclude Bangla, Patong is marginally higher priced than Pattaya but cheaper than BKK. Exclude Patong and Phuket is same as any other tourist destination in Thailand..no actually cheaper than many.
As to beaches, Patong beach, the one most tourists see, is filthy. Karon/Kata & Kamala are only marginally better. These are only beaches 90% of tourist see. Bearly anyone see's the beaches at north end of the island beyond expats and cheap charlies...which is kind of amusing, cheapest tourists see best beaches
Filthy is a powerful word. You have done research and can pop up a HD vid no more than a year old to show it?
Problem is half of the TV bar stool boys are nowhere near Phuket ..western currency crash made sure of that but still like to comment and feel a bit important

Can't see what's so hot about sitting on your lonesome in a restaurant every day, watching farang couples not communicating. Is it fun?
WOW ! Didn't mean to touch a raw nerve dude.

Yes . But what makes you think you can instantly rent it out for that exact 2 week period
Forget about it

Then, please speak freely about the property market here
What are you babbling on about/ Where did I mention property in your quote? The set has also performed well
my prediction is based on charts and resistance and the historical low is 15 baht for my oz example
it will get there but will take a few years at which point I will liquidate and take advantage of the OZ collapse of the property bubble and its banana republic currency rate. That goes for most of the western world which are on the brink of recession.

$7.00 AUD for a coffee, a beer about $7 - $10 AUD (no, not talking about sitting in the front of 7-11 or living in some village) and you still get numskulls saying Thailand is cheap.

You gotta be kidding !! The baht against the OZ dollar and most currencies . A 10 year chart that is quite devastating unless of course You were smart enough to liquidate back home and transfer your funds to Thailand but sadly there are dummies still posting even today to never put even one baht in a thai bank..idiots !

What a load of nonsense
These threads pop up smack in the middle of low season every year
And drag on into high season where they mysteriously vanish untill next years Pattaya phuket are dead threads [emoji16] -
Not if you are nose down trying to eject at 1 footAmerican aircraft including air force trainers are equipted with a 0 feet ejection seat, meaning you can eject from the ground
and still have enough altitude for your chute to open. -

The newest, 2 year-old 'bundle of joy' is just the icing on my already sumptuous cake of life.
Being alone is way, way easier but being attached is way, way more fun.
We are all different but the thought of pushing a pram and a screaming kid at midnight in my 50's sends cold chills down my spine

Yeah it's a surprise any of us are still alive. According to the medical pros I should have been dead at twentyAaaah! - the old "too much" routine by health "professionals" justifying their existence.
We've seen them all:
"Too much sun gives you cancer"
"Too much alcohol gives you brain damage" (some people I know are immune to this)
"Too much fish consumption gives you mercury poison"
"Too much Thai vegetables gives you pesticide poison"
"Too much spanking the monkey will send you blind"
I'm still alive, have to wear glasses, enjoy all sorts of food and no bits are falling off me yet - - - --

But mysterious men in black running around propping up the baht and the economy and the condo market is much more fun and easier to understand for the lower class poorly educated farangThe strength of the Thai Baht is not "artificial".
The reason it is so high is because:-
Increasing foreign exchange reserves.
Low inflation rate.
Low unemployment.
Resilient economy.
Concern about European economies (their currencies losing value).
The Thai Central Bank has the same job as other Central banks; to keep inflation in check. This is why they have very limited options with regard to the exchange rate.
The foreign exchange market is far bigger than any single countries power to influence their own currency.
Britain tried to support Sterling in 1993, but, still crashed out of the ERM.
Thailand tried to do the same in 1997 and spent most of their foreign currency reserves.
In both cases, it was the foreign exchange market that determined the outcome.-

Been either married or in a relationship my whole damn life and finally its nice to wake up and not have to think about what a partner has planned for the day.
There is no need to marry a Thai when they are so freely available for pleasure , daily I see farang /Thai couples sitting in a restaurant both staring off into the distance and struggling to communicate. Many farang are lonely in their marriage and that's the worst type of alone..

RIP to the pilot.
What a remarkably dumb thing to say because first world jets "whizz around" without incident ?
