  1. Just an idea , you could try to learn a few basic Thai phrases.

No sugar is "Mai Aow Nam Tam" .

This is central world food court in Pattaya where they speak English. As I mentioned already the guy taking the order says " no sugar" in English to his staff. They Just brain dead

If I was in isaan then yes I would say it in thai it's not rocket science, just a few words

  2. Your last paragraph , I like the baguettes in Big C , I don't know if it helps but I buy the ones in a wrapper , Thais love to touch stuff , give the bread a squeeze , 10 more come past and give the bread a squeeze , end of the day it has been reduced in price and is now flat from all those hand giving it a grope.
Dead right. They pick up meat from the trays at Tesco with their hands and inspect it before dropping it and walking away

They need staff to slap them and they may stop one day,!

  3. Mikes is the most aggressive sales pressure in the whole of thailand or maybe the world.

But it's due to the stalls are owned by individuals and not the mall itself so they are all in competition. I'm a sales trainer in a previous life and completely avoid Mikes unless I need to crap in their toilet.

Home pro has a hundred useless staff just follow you around untill you reach check out and claim commission for whatever you bought.

  4. Rubbish... Most rental bungalows have cheap door locks that cost a few hundred baht.. If it potentially saves a friend's life, even a few thousand baht is peanuts

Awwe your so nieve it's kind of sweet.

Police will be called when the door gets kicked in usually resulting in the smashing of the door. You think your in a chuck norris movie? Break a door is nearly impossible without extreme force!

Break and enter is an offense that will get you arrested 100%

The dumbest advice I have ever heard on TV!

How about use what's between your ears and have management or police open it.

    Duhhhh!

  5. I can agree, but let's be honest. There are almost no expats here under 50 without the need to work (somewhere). Under 50s with the cash would almost never pick a country like Thailand. One can hardly even find any Westerners at all who aren't near or in their 60s, excepting tourists.

Thailand does not attract well off young or middle aged people.
Probably because those people are still working in their home country.

If your sub 50 and successful then you still have some good working /bussiness years left
