I don't know what's worse when trying to get to sleep , the hooker next door screaming her lungs out during anal or the Russian guys slamming the door so hard at 3 am that it sends a tremor through the building. The hooker I get but why use lethal force on a door that's not resisting?
That's what you get in "hotel" condos- 1

To a trailer style home in their own country. I doubt the living costs will be that bad especially in some country's that have free Medicare and meds.Possibly true but where else can they go with their income whatever figure that may be?
Beer will be more expensive but homebrew is legal- 1

I've tried every adaptor there is but no joy. In theory just plugging in my headphones to the audio out should cut the TV speakers but no effect at all.I've had a TCL 55" for a year now and have had no problems hooking it up to an audio system. Great TV and a great value. Take a picture of the audio outputs on the back of your TV and go to a decent retailer like Power Buy. They will know what adapter you will need to connect to a soundbar. Also, your TV sound output may be set to "TV speakers only" or something similar. Check your audio menu.
I've spent hours testing the settings on the remote for audio as well.
It's probably something simple but I've sent emails to the service center with pics without really expecting a reply and wasn't disappointed [emoji26]
I've just noticed new TCL 55" UHD 4K smart tv on lazada for 12k. Great reviews about the pic quality but in typical TCL style everyone says the smart bit is clunky and doesn't work -

Bizarre. Immigration blaming expats when in fact agents wouldn't exist if corrupt Immigration were not taking bribes.
Surely the solution without starting a whole new set of rules would be to......
NOT TAKE BRIBES,!!!- 13

Yes it matters. Living in a peaceful condo block vs party central. You want the revolving door neighbour's room and the sex parties? Nothing wrong with that and it's why hotels were inventedDoes it matter?Owners have to pay common area fees and don't want the block trashed..
OP as a renter not much you can do as you can't attend the agm where owners would put it to a vote.
My condo block is strictly prohibited with warnings of arrest plastered everywhere but it took years of bullying juristic but it worked

That's the first time in many years I have ever heard a thai use the words I don't know. Usually they just make something upWhat just happened? Someone in a relatively powerful position admitted that they did not know what to do? That in itself is refreshing.- 6

The difference between the currencies is not so big that 2 week millionaires would even notice.I know a few Aussies who missed going this year due to the strong baht its not a bargain anymore and Vietnam, Bali , Phillipines are better options for a cheaper more value holiday.
Those same guys are apparently going to the Phillipines instead.
The cheap Charlies counting every bean are western versions of zero dollar tourists drinking at 7/11 .
Nobody cares about them -
But can home stay be rented nightly? I don't think that would work without a special licence eg a hotel registrationIt a scheme promoted by the ministry of tourism and sports
During your travel, choosing homestay gives you the best opportunity to learn about local culture and the villagers’ life by getting an insight into their way of life, exchanging knowledge, as well as sharing their accommodation and food as if were part of the family. In addition to the richness of local traditions, travelers are introduced to tourist sites and activities. By this way, travelers can meet many local people and can experience the simple and natural lifestyle of the countryside, an experience they never had the chance to have before.

Also what's the difference between home stay and air bnb? -
What's a home stay property? Home stay is the same as air bnb in other words it's a home for people to stay.
However what ever the building is excluding domestic condos if it's rented nightly then you need a hotel licence. If you don't register it as a hotel then that's OK as long as you you rent it out a minimum of 30 days at a time

Same pattern as always. 1st post as usual followed by a big negative statementThat would be one lonely person to post Crapola on a foreign country forum, I know I would never do that.
It's amusing at best

I doubt he is even in the country. Just another thinly veiled bash that losers like to get off on. Sad [emoji17] reallyAgree, I live in JomTien and the beach chairs are full every day 'cept Wednesday whe they can;t be rented, then the beach is full of blanket/towel crowd. The night market is full of Russian/Northern Europeans..............guess the poster doesn;t get out much dos he??

Why would a thai get angry and pretend punch [emoji109] you in the head for liking chilli? Thanks Naam. I've been coming here since the 80's and have definitely noticed something weird, strange and hostile. It may be that you have already mapped out your "comfort zones" and stay mostly tucked safely within them. I don't know but what I see? For example: the other night I was eating at one of the local road side kiosks and just after I paid the bill noticed a middle aged woman sitting by herself enjoying some soup that looked rather good so I asked the guy working there what it was. She piped in that it was red in color because she added chili but I shouldn’t eat it like that (because I was farang?) so I smiled and said that I like chili too at which point she seemed to grow angrier (she was none to pleasant from the start, I kept looking for a smile to show me she was teasing but it never came.. instead..) and threw a mock punch at my head - really - to which I, a bit startled asked her why she was angry to which she responded that she was not angry blah, blah, blah but I walked away. Just too weird and insignificant to give any more energy too but the anger appears frequently - from total strangers - or - mote often, like at the bank or other restaurants I used to eat at – or a lady I was discussing renting an apartment from just never calling me back, or my dentist never greeting me with even a “hello” – just coming into the room and getting right to work, suddenly ignored as if I did something to offend someone which if I had - have no idea - but it’s happed so often it just seems to me as if there’s an undercurrent of resentment here that is very hard to make any sense of. I’ve rarely if ever seen a tourist be rude and I certainly never am.. So?
If you asked a thousand farang if this ever happened to them 100% would think that you're a crazy person.
If you find yourself badly treated by a thai or farangs or your wife even you need to stop the blame game and look inwards and ask the question what am I doing to attract this hostility? The answer is there if you seek the truth grasshopper..- 1

Keto test strips can be bought from chemists. I find it fascinating that we can forcefully change how are body uses fuel and its scientifically proven to work by peeing on a strip.

Better still bring Songkran forward. It's a win win with high tourism and smog killer all in one packageIf burning incense sticks or gold paper make sure to have a spray bottle of water to spray into the air. Spray should reach one to two meters into the air to work. -
Exactly. My gaming pc was assembled in the shop while I had lunch with no charge. Far better specs and cheaper than buying a take away unitJust buy it all at one of the big IT shops and let them assemble it. You can also let invade IT assemble it for a price. -
If any beer needs to be filtered it would definitely be Chang [emoji16]
I don't usually drink Chang.... But...
I've been debating that. The current filter in my Sharp main bedroom purifier is almost a year old, the original one from purchase. It had been keeping up OK for our bedroom, just until the levels got into the 170-180 AQI outside. Then it started not keeping up... I have several spare HEPA filters for it at home, and am debating making a change.
But meanwhile, desperate times call for desperate measures....
1. the current horrible conditions spurred me to do a project I'd been planning and preparing for for a long time, and that's to install weather stripping insulation on the two door frames in our main bedroom that have exposure to outside air... Just finished that job.
and 2. Unplugged my bigger Honeywell HEPA air purifier from the living room, and brought it into the bedroom to run alongside my smaller Sharp bedroom unit. So right now, after those two changes, the sensor in our main bedroom is now reading 3 mcg... But the unfiltered living room is now at 47 mcg.
I have a screen display showing when filters need to be replaced. I've been away from Bangkok last 2 months and am interested to see the reading on my machine when I get back which usually sits around average 7 -
Total nonsense.Bangkok is on the 89th spot ?! Clearly doesn’t deserve to be at that place since it’s high on pretty much everything ! From pollution to road rage accidents and deaths ( sadly nobody cares either way since they don’t do anything to prevent deaths on the roads ) What Infrastructure?! It’s only about Thai people not accessible to westerns unless they’re well’off.
This also doesn’t help to tackle ordinary problems as I’ve mentioned above but also everything is so slow dangerous and disorganised, in addition to this there’s corruption spread throughout the country, dishonesty ( just to mentions a few ) Plus total lack of English language and clearly an uncivilised society who’s got no manners which is also unwilling to open its mind to the rest of the world so it remains just as insular as ever. Just to mentions a few major issues but as we all know there’s so much more to complain about..Unless, they change their attitude and open their little mind it will only get worse. Also, there’s no point to continue building Towers eliminating that little green left in the city of havoc, I very much dubt they’re selling all those tiny condos to the Chinese people who will soon realise how unliveable it is, unless of course they come from a similar scenario, they’d fit right in comfortably..- 1

I actually gave up drinking several years ago.
It was the longest most boring day of my life- 6

Perhaps a filter Chang is due?Meanwhile, how are folks' air purifiers keeping up with today? Mine are NOT!
When I woke up today, the indoor non-filtered air inside my home was reading as much as 80 mcg of PM2.5....
The best my Sharp air purifier in my bedroom could do, running on high, (along with Filtrete media on my bedroom air con filters) was get those microgram levels down to the low to mid 20s.... that's in an older home with windows and doors that are not well sealed.

It's those that don't have property like your self that need to worry. Not easy to save 800k from a 30k a month pension.. Right?
