This is why I don't care for Australia
JackGats replied to georgegeorgia's topic in Australia & Oceania Topics and Events
There's that of course. But if I'm not mistaken Australia is also one of those countries where any woman I've never met can point at me from across the street and shout "he raped me!", and off I go to jail until she retracts. That's why I'd never travel to eg Sweden either. -
Thailand has no "less well-known" destinations outside the 3 months when temperatures are bearable. Outside these 3 months the only bearable destinations are the (dwindling number of clean) beaches. Unless you consider cowering under a hotel air-con or soaking all day in a hotel pool a holiday destination. Sensible measures to promote "less-well known" would be abolishing dual pricing in the cancerous national parks that pre-empt 80% of wild-life areas, and relaxing the stifling dress codes for tourists in temples and monuments.

This is why I don't care for Australia

People (mostly women) in Europe often ask me why I, a seasoned traveler, never visited Australia. I sometimes reply I live in TH where I keep meeting lots of Australian men who will go to great lengths to never have to go back to Australia again. So, I add, there must be some ill wind for males in Australia, and what is detrimental to Australian men would also be to me. -
Third divorce! I had one 30 years ago and swore I would never marry again. I've got enough things threatening to ruin my life (taxes, health ...) without adding that big no-no, ie marriage.

New minimum wages are too low and need review : PM
JackGats replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Never mind which particular verb of the English language I used. I couldn't write with multiple choice, so I used the verb "volunteer", indeed maybe to emphasize no one is forced to accept a job (much less to have offsprings they can't support). Forcing anyone into a particular job isn't called "forced labour" for nothing. Supply and demand is what determines the price of goods and services. Once you let governments set such prices, the worm is in the apple and you start seeing distortions and inefficiencies. -

JackGats replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
You don't understand how a market works. The value of goods and services is what people (customers and employers) are prepared to pay for them. If a job is too poorly paid, nobody volunteers to do it and employers are forced to raise wages to attract labour. Conversely if a job is overpaid, an excess of people gravitate to it, and employers lower the wages. -

What if the girls were not being forced to have sex but were eager to have it? According to the article they were forced and there's no reason to doubt they were, none at all. But if and when police raid a bar in order to rescue randy underage girls from having underage orgasms, I demand a newspaper article about it. It's not fair to only be fed articles about forced 'uns. I want to know about the randy ones too and how the little brats were rescued from themselves and duly traumatized. -

I didn't know capilalism, indeed in its unfettered form, dated back to the Middle Ages. -

Lots of people on this forum with their EU-socialist frame of mind supporting the minimal wage jobs destruction machine. Each +1 euro on the minimal wage means so many thousands of jobs lost. It is well known even to the socialoids, but ideology trumps everything. So the job destruction goes on, more industries delocalize, even the higher middle class can't afford repair men or household staff and end up living a drudging life. Is it funny to live in South East Asia and not being able to afford someone to clean your condo? The market should be left to set the price of goods and services, period. -

Purple-coloured urine. Vitamin B12 then. -
And they'll make things worse whenever they can, like making Soi Bukhao one-way. The two-way hampered traffic was the only thing that stood in the way of road carnage on Soi Bukhao.

German documentary reignites sex tourism concerns for Thailand’s Pattaya
JackGats replied to webfact's topic in Pattaya News
I'm not a pensioner who's been stuck in TH on an unindexed pension for 3 decades. I travel around the World. I know what it means for a country to be one where prostitution is endemic. There's no prostitution whatsoever in Kanchanaburi, Ubon Ratchatani, Petchaburi, Tak, Mae Hong Song, Buriram, Mae Sot, Nakhon Sawang, Rangsit, Nakom Patom, Lopburi, Surat Tani, Chumpong ... indeed in any mid- to small town in TH. This in itself is remarkable. In similar-sized towns in Brazil, Colombia or Peru, any taxi would drive you to a brothel in 10 minutes's time if you asked. You didn't because you never were there. -

Funny thing is, Thailand is one of the "cleanest" countries in the world. Virtually no sex for money outside a few blocks in Bangkok, Pattaya and Pukhet. Compare with South-America, where every small town has its own one or two well-known knocking shops. -

The femihags in Europe don't want European men to go spend their money on Asian girls. Hence the agitprop. -
Few non-natives speak English with a native-like English/US/AUS accent or understand English well when spoken with a native accent. The English they speak and understand best will be equally broken English, non idiomatic, with the phonetics all wrong, an impoverished meta-language that doesn't exist as a real language. When they watch a movie in original English they will usually not be able to watch without sub-titles. Note that those fools will be proud of their "English". They will flout it at every occasion in order to show that they "can speak English", like a poorly-endowed exhibitionist flouting his small pecker.

Despite Washington’s confidence, US war with Iran would be disastrous
JackGats replied to CharlieH's topic in World News
Bombing strategic military sites in a one-week special operation, then leave the Mullahs to be taken care of by their own discontented population? Easier said than done though. Also, the discontent within the population may be overestimated. Not long ago we saw women demonstrating against the dress-code police, but some of us old enough may remember Iranian women veiled head to foot demonstrating against the Shah (in support of the Mullahs). Western media don't do propaganda. Instead they do wishful thinking by cherry-picking their news angles.
