How did you meet your wife? First words?
JRG23 replied to Neeranam's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
16 years next Feb. Met in a bar in Pattaya. It’s nearly all been great fun since. First wife was a Thai lawyer. ‘Good’ family, well off, she had a good education and a good job. But boy what a terrible wife. We divorced in 2005. Bar-girl wife 100 times better. It’s funny how it goes. -
Yeah in Thailand. I’ve tried Lazada but don’t trust it any more. says 3m but they’re not

Anyone know where to buy original real 3M face masks. Not the Chinese rip-offs. Any knowledgeable comments would be gratefully received. Thank you

Thank you!

Hello. I have a simple question for some of the more experienced folks on here. Sorry for my naivety! In my passport I have this re-entry permit. It was stamped into my passport when I got the work permit from Chamchuri Square. My question is....... is this re-entry permit still valid? Do the Thai words have any bearing on the re-entry permit? Thank you for your help. J

Vaccine passport - nice to have or actually needed?
JRG23 replied to JRG23's topic in COVID-19 Coronavirus
This is the op. I got the vaccine passport today. Queues at 5:30 am, submitted documents and had to come back at 3pm to get the passport. Lots of waiting around but job done. The folks who run the passport office said they’ll only be running it a couple more days. -

I agree. I'd much rather have the passport but I can't get it! Nowhere, literally, is available before I fly. Surely these places will allow 'walk-in' customers to get passports? Anyone know if walk-ins are allowed? It's a crazy system. It's a crazy country. -
I'm getting a little stressed. I work in Thailand for a UK firm. My boss wants me back in UK early November. I have been vaccinated, have the certificate, have a flight lined up, and have COE initial clearance. But getting a Vaccine Passport is nearly impossible. I have tried so hard in recent days but haven't been successful. So... Is this Vaccine Passport actually mandated - ie, you cannot get on a plane without one? Or is it just nice to have? Does anyone have any experience, anyone actually know? Cheers. J

To be clear.... Is the vaccine passport issued here in Thailand actually necessary (ie, mandated) in order to fly? Or is it just a 'nice to have'? Anyone actually know? Cheers.

I have bitten the bullet and booked the flight!!

I am confused. Do you need the Thai Vaccine passport or not??? Getting one of those things is nearly impossible now. I need to fly early November. And I have two AZ shots and the certificate. So do I actually need the passport? Thanks -
Getting an appointment for a Vaccine Passport in Bangkok is very difficult indeed. I need to fly out in early Nov for work and can't get an appointment. But do airlines actually need the passport - or do they accept the certification of vaccination? Anyone know? Thanks j
-
And does anyone know if this vaccine passport is actually necessary? Can you fly without the passport and use the certificate instead?
-
Yes. As I noted the UK government doesn't require the test. However, some airlines do. And that's where the confusion is. Think best to take the test and get the paperwork.
-
Yes. AZ, two shots.

Hello. I have contrasting opinions on the requirement for Covid-19 tests on flights from BKK to Heathrow. My travel agency says no, not required. THAI Airway says yes, they are required. The UK government says no, not required. Is there anyone who can kindly shed some light? Are Covid tests required before flying Bangkok-London? If so, what kind of test is needed? Many thanks! J

Mr ubonjoe. You are a star. I have lost count the number of times you have helped me - a simpleton - with Thai visas and other related stuff. Thank you Sir!
-
Not in transitin Doha, no. Guessing not anyway. It's so bloody stressful organising flights at the moment! LOL!
-
Qatar. Flying into UK on 4 Nov. Returning to BKK on 13 Nov.

Started to panic....I am flying back in a few weeks!!! Cheers. It's a farce. They want you to do the COE form or something. But the COE is down and there is no replacement. I need to travel and come back early November. So what am I to do? Is Thailand Pass working, when will it work? Anyone know?

Sorry, for coming back. Only in UK for a few days.
