  1. Even if motrcycles are involved in many accidents, there's still large numbers of car/pick up etc., crashes and large numbers of deaths from car/pick up crashes.
  2. I've read before: - Yes viruses can transfer to my phone. and - No they cannot transfer. Which is correct?
  3. I'm in a wheel chair. I used AirAsiaX CM to Sydney through KL. I booked for wheel chair assistance and I was delighted how well AirAsiaX was organised, and their positive friendly caring attitude etc. AIrAsiaX provided the chair 'pusher' all the way. As said, all very well organized. On arrival in Sydney their team (2 pleasant focused young ladies) pushed me through passport, luggage collection etc. After passport they stopped and asked if I had any firm arrangements for a car service to meet me. I confirmed yes and gave the AAX girl the booking. Whilst waiting for the luggae she returned and said 'I've spoken to the driver, he's all organized, I've agreed a specific point to meet him. Then they asked if there was someone they could call at the final destination to give them a progress report? I responded by giving them the name / number of the 'New Residents manager of a War Vets village just Nth of Sydney. A minute later one of the AAX ladies said 'they're expecting you in about 90 minutes'. They slowly / carefully got me into the car, checked that I was comfortable they opened a small bottle of water, then put the cap back on the bottle and put the bottle near my hand where if couldn't fall down. Well done. I'd be very surprised if you didn't have the same positive experience to Danang regardless of which airline (but to be honest I wouldn't expect too much from Thai International). Have a great trip.
  4. Some negative reviews on the canteen food?
  5. I've been (for a few minutes to complete some paperwork on a charged soldier) inside 2 military police jails. One was an Australian military police jail. The another operated by another western military. The brutality and severe violence (part of the 24/7 standard situation) every day, enacted by soldiers in detention and the MPs very severe, very frightenng and debilitating. Terrifying and never forgotten. Over 50 years later the memories of what I saw (just in the military jails) still come back.
  6. Yep, real busy doing important service in the roadside tent serving fake coffee and helping folks relaxing to recharge their mobiles so they can text for longer periods when they are driving.
  7. I think you're missing the point.
  8. So that's brings an important point; what evidence would be accepted by the manufacture and/or the consumer ptotection agency? I don't know the answer but some quick thoughts from a layman: -Dated photos from different angles? -Detailed/structured analysis report on the rust or corrosion which has been analysed by an accredited laboratory? -Detailed rust/corrosion description by an accredited engineer? Good luck.
  9. Well I wouldn't be surprised at ll what the paymster 'gang' and 'contacts', and 'cronies are capable of negotiating and I have little doubt they would have no hesitation to ignore the law and the underlying reasoning for the law, for fainess, balance and for integrity. they will go whatever hey want regardless of respect for anything.
  10. What about following the actual law and the police stop playing maverick to 'adjust' laws as they please, which they have no athrty to do. Total joke, no wonder there's tota; confusion about law and order and the rules of the road and all of course opening opportunities for .... and more death on the roads.
  11. Severe and long-term I hope.
  12. The report didn't mention any detail of whether he would go direct from the airport to jai / to house arrest / to negotiaions etc. It wasn't mentioned.
  13. English is not the most widely used language in the worls, spanish and Mandarin and neck in neck for that title. English is recognised as the language of business across the world.
  14. The immigration officer said online that there were an ever increasing number of tourists coming into Thailand and leaving but there was not enough officers manning the booths. So 120 officers from the north and south were brought in to handle the extra work. The obvious question, why are they not already well prepared for the workload?
  15. Australian immigration etc., staff at airports use a 24/7 phone translator service. Severalother gov'r agencies use the same service. I know one farang in Oz speaks reads writes perfect Thai and he's got the certificates to prove it. Also speaks English and German at native speaker level He gets good rates but must be available 24/7.
  16. The hospital you mention is owned by the man who owns all the Bangkok hospitals (Bangkok Pattaya, Bangkok Chiang Mai hospital and more). He also owns the airline Bangkok Airways. Had a farang friend in Jomtien hospital, the hospital insisted on friend signing an authority for the hospital to take their twice daily bills to the bank for instant withdrawal of funds to keep the bill paid right up to date, never outstanding more than half a day. As to be expected the half day bills were far from cheap and included every item known to man.

  18. I now use BOLT for all my taxi travel, great service and good fares. Not sure nowadays but some years back they were active to talk to customers exiting from the luggage hall, take the passenger to a nearby desk to pay the money, then tell the passenger have to walk to the car, parked in the depths of the car park and you had to handle your own luggage to the car.
  19. Hey rooster, your not my mother, I'll ditch the mask when I'm ready!
  20. Not that Simple, this subject has been raised many times before, and not only in regard to buiness class. For several years I did day trips Bkk to S'pore and return. I was entitled to travel business but I chose to save a few Baht on such a short fligh and fly economy. Many times I saw Thai passengers needing help on boarding who were very obviously being ignored by the Thai cabin crew. Even worse; a couple of times Thai ladies with a couple of small toddlers being ignored. On one occasion an older Thai lady nearby got up quickly, took one of the toddlers and told the cabin crew woman to take care or this family. Her respons was loudly 'NOT MY JOB'. The older Thai woman ensured they got seated and she went to the galley to ask for some coloured pencils etc. She came back and shared 'coloured pencils finished'. another olderThai lady went to a different galley and came back with coloured pencils and other toys. Mealtime; the cabin crew just stacked 3 trays on the fold down tray for the young mother and walked away. The older Thai women quickly helped to feed the toddlers and give the mother a break. This was in an era when cabin crew were very arrogant and totally lazy. My own Thai staff came back from business trips regularly and complained about the lack of service and the rudeness of the cabin crew. My company policy was that each office had to use the national airline of the country where the office was situated. I was at the TG HQ and found a snr. manager and shared the comments / complaints. His response was 'I'm so sorry you were disappointed with the service, I'm sure it will be better next time. And he walked away.
  21. If your referring to coming and going from Oz during the 2 year period; I've asked Centrelink to share a web address showing this and i've had the answer 'it's policy but the gov't don't want to publicize it'. Several times when I was in Oz (bored) I spoke to the 'Older Australians Line staff 132 300, they all gave the same answer 'not publicized', and you can come and go quite a few times each year, 3 or 4 weeks each time. One officer did say 'If you push too hard penalties are possibe. e.g. stop and start the accumultion of the 2 years, but it rarely happens'. The website (as mentioned above), says the pensioner should inform C'link they are going to travel abroad etc., but most don't, and if you do tell them you're going to travel you don't have to say where and C'link cannot ask you 'where are you going'. MAF666 clearly doesn't like the whole idea and especially being away from his family and I certainly respect what he's saying, and wish him good luck. I live in LOS with my Thai son and his Thai wife and 3 kids (my Thai wife <doctor of medicine> passed away quite a few years ago), I've always been very close to my son, and his wife when she came into the picture and their 3 kids. I missed them so much but LINE was a blessing in disguise with video calls, and maybe 3 days a week helping the kids do spelling practce etc. I asked my eldest g'daughter to make me a birhday cake and my son got them organized to have little party for my birthday and youngest g.daughter (then 4) tasked with blowing out the candle for me. And son drank an extra Chang for me for my birthday.
  22. Why did he snub the idea? 1. He wouldn't be the king of the circus? 2. He wouldn't control eveything. 3. Have to share spoils with too many people. 4. Doesn't advance his aim for a political family dynasty.
