Have a Thai friend who exports mangos to Japan, has done for 20 years. She's extremely careful that nobody ever sprays any form of chemicals near her mango trees, and the mangos are packaged exactly as dictated by the Japanese importer and not one tiny mark or discoloration. She personally monitors/supervises packaging. Fullly tested and inspected on arrival in Japan. She gets paid a premium for best faultless quality but any issues and loss of contract very likely.

True, It does come and go, and often with long periods of time between 'episodes'.

You say 'generous DVA pension' (which is just your personal opinion rather than a structured calcualtion from a experience based systematic calculation embraced by experts as suitable and fair). To be honest I'm not interested in your opinion on this point. The DVA Disability pension also embraces many other disabilities; examples; loss of legs, arms, hands or all limbs and other items. By the way have you served in the armed forces? And do you have war service?

So how did you get access to read all the case files?

That's a strong assumption. There must be false claims, were dealing with human beings. In terms of PTSD from war service please note that as an example the Australian DVA (Dept., of Veterans Affairs) has much experience and knowledge re PTSD. Other countries also and I'm aware that many countries regularly study what other counties are doing re PTSD and how they assess PTSD. I can tell you that re the Aust. DVA, if a veteran lodges a disability claim saying they have PTSD, their claim is taken very seriously and there's many very well structured long self-assessments and assessments conducted by licensed and experienced physicians (approved by the DVA) and several long structured sessions with qualified and very experienced psychiatrists (approved by the DVA). I've been through this, took many months, I very much doubt 'fakers' would pass.

Actually I'm not American. I suggest that a very large % of Americans have no understanding of / don't want to understand the Social Democratic model of sharing and supporting each other aiming for a good quality of life for all. It seems to me many Americans see Socialism as Communism and that's of course not what, in modern terms, Socialism means. I'm from a solid Social Democrat country. I've lived in a Social Democrat society / discussion all my life. At home my parents attitudes to everything was underpinnned by sharing, equal opportunity and all (of society) supporting each other. This framed my attitudes and values today; sharing, equal opportunity and supporting each other - Social Democrat. Many countries today are Social Democratic and are peaceful, balanced, have a good quality of life, and quality medical care for all at zero to very very small personal cost. It works.
