Further, I've e.mailed to division 1 several times, every e.mail has been fully clearly answered between 2 or 3 days up to 2 weeks. Some answers needed reading a few time to get the meaning , some in perfect English. Best example was when I got caught in Australia couldn't return because of covid- 19 retrictions. I have PR (25 years). I e.mailed to seek clarification about the extension of time for PR holders to return (past the stamped re-entry date). I got a prompt response excellent English, it was obvious the officer had checked with the managment, the answer was complete and shared that for PR holders the return date had been extended indefinitely. The e.mail included an invitaton to e.mail again for any changes in the policy. I did that a month later (and again), every time I got a quick answer (same officer) with valuable comment.

Good advice. I got PR 24 yrs ago, I'm aware there have been changes but not aware whether your points have changed. Best check. Don't be frightened to call CW, they don't bite. Their e.mail address is [email protected]

Thanks for asking; My Thai wife has sadly since passed away (lung cancer, she never smoked one cigarette, got it from her very heavy chain smoking father. My wife, her 2 sisters and their mother all died from second hand smoke. Years later the father also died of lung cancer). My son now well qualified (Singapore and Thailand) and in very good employment helping society, he's happily married to a great Thai lady (same eventual qualifications / work), and they have 3 happy kids (my grandkids) all doing well at school and in sports.

Your message makes it sound like Australia is utopia (and it's not far off that) and it's compulsory to like/live in/remain in Australia. All folks have different views/different desires (all sorts of desires) which drive their actions. Right now quite a few Oz folks are leaving to live in the old East european countries because of the very high cost of living in Oz. (Example: Check the current and ever increasing cost of electricity, I was back in Oz for a while, returned to LOS 6 months ago. During the time I was there many folks indicated they aren't using their air conditioners in summer (Oz has very hot summers) because they just can't pay the bills it generates.) Others leave (me) because of very good job/career offers. Which long-term provided me a path to snr. executive management and all asia directorships. Others leave for LOS (and the Philippines and some to Bali etc.) because they have a strong desire to live in an Asian culture/society. I was transferred to Bkk from a posting in Singapore and very willing to go, I had all my life as a kid asked my parents for books/picture books about Asia. In Thailand I met a wonderful Thai lady, Dr. of Medicine, plus two med. board certificates and a Ph.D. in Sociology, all gained in Melbourne. She spoke very advanced English with a strong Australian accent. She was a devoted and funny partner, good listener and a good mother (we had one son). She conducted free clinics 2 or 3 times every month in the NE. Always many people came to her clinics because they got to know that she wanted them to talk and share full details of their ailments and she listened, and to see her young son (my son) from about 9 yrs old listening and carefully preparing their medicines and getting them back into a pick up truck or onto the back of the family mo cy etc., plus to see the farang (me) taking care of getting people seated in the shade with a glass of water and speaking to them politely in Thai / returning their wai. And my few farang friends (mostly in in Bkk) always asking her to translate a situation etc., knowing that she would give them focused and insightful explanations etc. What more do you want? (I hasten to add: yes Australia is a great country, there's many plusses indeed.)

Moving from Australia to Thailand

I've noticed before that there's sometimes difficulties with importing cars/motorcycles/vehicles into Thailand (perhaps all counties) in terms of complicance with various engineering specs as required by local laws. -
As we all know the local attitudes to medical cover is widely different per country. In Australia most people visiting the country (most types of visas) have access/cover from the Australian social health care plan 'MEDICARE'. I was back in Australia for a couple of years. My Thai granddaughter (16, speaks very advanced English) was initially accepted to receive a 6 months scholarship to study in a normal Oz local high school and take part in their swimming coaching activity. I called MEDICARE, gave them the details and asked 'would she be covered fully under Oz MEDICARE benefits, same as a local resident OZ citizen? Quick answer 'Yes, fully covered, but make sure she is registered very quickly on arrival at a local Centrelink/Medicare office, or you can probably complete this by phone, just depends on whether they want to see her to prove her identity (prove she exists). (Ultimately if was all canclled. Her Thai Matayom school wasn't happy and made noises about reducing her overall grades. Her father immediately withdrew her application for the Oz opportunity.)

Normally you can get an 'exit/re-entry stamp' at the airport near the departure passsport desks, (I have PR 24 yrs but I've never done that), so perhaps other PR holders can confirm that the posters 'under consideration' status is acceptable for the member to get the 'exit/re-entry stamp' at the airport. Good luck.

Plus, if potential taxi travelers don't use the taxis 'stationed' outside the hotel they get punished also. Which also means if the customer doesn't want the next cab in the line then there's also punishment in some form. As said Bkk drivers not all that bad compared. In Chiang Mai there's some taxis with meter but they all refuse to use the meter, must be by negotiation and of course far from cheap.

In a phone conversation my Thai bank mentioned Malaysia ranked very highly in terms of card number theft (15 years ago). -
Attempted credit card fraud.

For me it happened as follows: - VISA issued in Thailand by Thai bank. - Not used often. - Bought a small item at a gift shop at Kuala Lumpur Inter, Airport using the card. - Next cycle there's five or 6 purchases all around US500- each on my statement. - Quickly called my bank in Bkk, They established that each of the large purchases was in a different city (S'pore, HK, Seoul, Manila, Djakarta etc.) but all on the same day at nearly the same time. - Thai Bank quickly contacted VISA international. - VISA 'detectives' established their had been a string of card no. thefts at several shops at KLIA, and they established my card number had been stolen by a shop employee then sold to an internatiional CC card gang who have the resources/know-how to create 'charges' in multple cities at same time etc. - I had to send clear copies of my passport details page and the pages with recent travel stamps proving that I was in Thailand on the date of the charges. - VISA promptly reveresed all the charges, and the Thai bank quickly issued a new credit card along with a request to please NOT ever use the card in Malaysia. -

But it seems it's time for such a precedent, otherwise it will happen again and again. -

And the bottom line for me is very simple - I wouldn't believe/trust anything he said/wrote. He's told so many lies and untruths, twisted so many things deliberately to create divisions and make unrue claims; time to elect different, genuine intelligent people. -

Was ir really/actually 'state sponsored' or was it a result of someone (a clown) breaking a serious law and the appropriate authority doing their assigned job according to the law? Seems to me very clearly that it was the later. -
Because it's violence. It also needs to be said, teaching is hard work, like many jobs, and yes there are challenges, same as in many jobs. It seems that some folks see hitting students (violence) as the only way to control them. Not true! Teachers in most countries are taught how to control students and there are many methods, not including violence.
