Elderly Thai Teacher Bribes to Avoid Prosecution for Sexual Assault
scorecard replied to snoop1130's topic in Isaan News
Several years back a female teacher here in CM, at a gov't school, hit a teenage boy in her class about 20 times with a thick cane (one incident) leaving severe bruising and a broken bone. Parents demanded to speak to the teacher and they cornered her in her classroom. Boy's mother is also a teacher, at another gov't school. Errant teacher refused to listen to any suggestion that hitting kids like that in school is now illegal. She strongly insisted that the law did not apply at her school and teachers had the right to apply whatever punishment they chose and the teacher insisted there was no legal / regulations requirement to report such incidents to the school head or the police. Parents went to the head who agreed that teachers can and do make their own decisions in this area and agreed that the law does not apply at her school, and refused to discuss further. -

Outrage in Laos as wealthy 17 year old driver kills Thai man
scorecard replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
An example, a young Thai student 13 years old, very wealthy father moved out years ago, boy lives with his Thai mother. Every Saturday the boys personal driver takes the boy to meet his father at an agreed major shopping centre in Bkk. Boy meets father t 10.00 am along with his driver. Father departs the scene at 12 noon and not seen or heard of until the next Saturday and very little communication / conversation between the boy and father. Driver expected to do research late every week to get details of new big brand expensive gym boots / gym shoes now on the market, and new brand name school bags. Every Saturday father buys the boy 2 new pairs of gym boots / shoes and once a month a new big name expensive school bag. Shoes are taken home and the driver repacks the shoes and puts the boxes in a big storage cupboard in the garage designated for the boys personal car and which has a well set up accommodation unit for the live in 24/7 driver. Shoe boxes never opened again. -

Meaning that he sees no need to honour election promises. But next time around his gang will make promises and the public will laugh, because there's no sincerity involved. Longer term I wonder if this means Pita's party will be seen as more honourable and more sincere? -
Buying a condo to rent or for personal occupance needs some dur diligence: - Is there an owners committee - Do they have regular meetings? - Are all owners welcome to attend all meetings. - Has the committee made rules and regulations? Are they followed? - Is the condo 'manager' cooperative if asked questions? etc...

Bigger models (perhaps fortuner) consume a lot more gasoline (which is not cheap), perhaps that's worth checking. Farang friend (with wife and 3 kids) bought a new Toyota Yaris (bigger model) six months ago (hybrid electric / gasoline) . Very happy with his choice of car and with the service. Good luck.

Someone stealing your electricity happens in city areas also. Mu bills were always high in a townhouse in Pattaya )row of townhouses every house sharing a wall with the next house. Next house was sold and new owner asked my adult son if he knew where to go to get elel. bill changed to his (new owners ) name. This all led to discovery that the sold house had never had an elec. bill since the house (whole village) was constructed). Police got involved and then did a broader / more comprehensive check on the old owner (Thai Indian man), he ended up in jail on several charges.

Both of your points just your biased opinions, nothing more.

Well not so fast. People don't always gain a Ph.d. just for the purpose of teaching. In fact the two ideas clash; - Ph.d. study is very very rarely the study of a specific curriculum with numerous specific course with specified text books. - A Ph.d. is the candidates own take on a specific area of life / science / human behavior et., etc. - I have a Ph.D. the area is Organization Behavior (OB). The dissertation I submitted was from my long term observations of certain aspects of Leadership Behavior and how that affected motivation and business / organization results. OB is a subject which has been the subject of much comment and research. My observations were outside of what had been previously explored. Not one word of my dissertation was from text books, it was my own observations, proven by numerous surveys completed by large numbers of people both in m/ment and l/ship, and the subordinate staff who were 'subjected to' their leaders m/ment and l/ship behaviors and dialogue and listening skills.

Do you need a lot of clothes in Krabi? I would doubt it.

Another angle. I've lectured at a uni where the professor knew and could repeat the written law but couldn't explain the intent of the law. Another one, the professor couldn't explain the benefits of the written law.

Not really.

Trump probably not far behind.

'dodgy'... Yes. In an interview when he announced he was suspending his presidential candidacy he was asked: - Will you now suport Harris or Trump? - His response: 'could be either one, more discussion needed'. 'dodgy', lacking in values, morals? Yes. -
Paetongtarn Won't Take Defence Minister Role, Declares Thaksin
scorecard replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Even so, they are both supposedly intelligent strategic adults who would know when to bite their tongue and hold back comment for the next day or whatever or hold back comment so that the 'more appropriate party' makes the announcement. It's obvious Thaksin is the boss and has no intention to play even a mild back seat driver role. -

Thaksin Shinawatra Faces Legal Trouble for Political Interference
scorecard replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Sure there's rules but in Thailand there's no enforcement. Simple example, years back when the Immigration Bureau was at Soi Suan Phlu a Thai lady had a shop opposite the bureau selling: - all police uniforms - all insignia - all caps / hats / m.cycle helmets - all shoes / boots etc. - everything anybody needed to 100% impersonate a police officer. The customers - anybody who walked into the shop, no controls at all. -
seems to me if there was an honest response trump would be annihilated.

Not true.

But trumps comments are often lies and lacking in truth and create division.
