  1. But will be be capable of properly carrying out the duties of the POTUS? NO.
  2. Further: My Thai son grew up with things being insured. His Thai mother (Dr. of Medicine) spent 12 years studying in Australia living with one family. The Oz family, typical, insured / renewed everything. Back here is LOS we built a house in a good moo bahn, wife had explored available insurance and was ready to start a house and contents policy and she did. All of this explained to our one Thai son . Later son married, built a house, started house and contents insurance in his and his wife's names. Brother of son's Thai wife tried to stop then taking the house and contents insurance. "INSURANCE IS A TOTAL SCAM". Son's brother in law even tried to convince son's wife to cancel the insurance and get a refund. He was serious "INSURANCE IS A TOTAL SCAM" Sons spoke to the insurance company and they agreed to change the name on the house and contents policy from names of both husband and wife to son's name only and insurance company then agreed that my son was now the only person who could cancel the policy.
  3. Strange comment: - It's well proven / well documented that Oz citizens who have started the '2 years back inOz to re-establish a home in Oz' can do trips abroad during the 2 years. There are no concerns on this. - It's not 'home detention'. During the time spent back in Oz there's no restrictions whatever on local travel / local activities. All of the above has been discussed and made clear many times but some members seem to be determined to continue to submit wrong information on this. Why?
  4. I'm aware of an autopsy of only one farang. Reason: the farang involved very regularly took young urchin / street boys to his house (often as young as 13) for sex, nude boy parties etc, then refused to give them food or 'tips'. Several times he had been severely beaten up by gangs of these kids and neighbors called the police who took the beaten up farang to the local gov't. hospital for medical attention.
  5. At my request last year my Thai adult son did a 'survey' of temples for cremation costs near us here in Chiang Mai city. Lowest was 30,000Baht, that included one monk to do some initial chanting. In my case there will be no other costs (no parties, no food, no Chinese style multi table food etc.). Why, because the 'events' after I pass have been discussed many times by the outer circle Thai family with their requests for big money from me in advance. One family member asked my son for 500,000Baht in advance. In this case the request is to support impressing the community, showing the community that the family is rich (not true) because there's a farang in the family. Son has now told all of them no party whatever. Why? Because dad has given an instruction that 100% of his funds are to be kept for the education of his 4 grandchildren. They didn't try to argue with that.
  6. However there's some 'rules': - Age of the deceased must not be older than xxx., so that reusable parts can be harvested quickly. - Body must be free of many diseases. Some teaching hospitals can use the body for dissection by medical students but only is the body is free of certain disease. - Some use the body for research data into a number of diseases.
  7. And there would be a good chance someone would discover this arrangement and your wife charged / punished re a serious offence for not notifying the authorities of your death. You're just crazy. Hopefully nobody would take your advice seriously. Bottom line: it can be very simple to inform the appropriate offices of the death; the Thai police will be called and they will quickly inform the relevant embassy. In my case the embassy in BKK will instantly do a broadcast to all government agencies at home to stop any further benefits. Maybe different process for other countries. Local simple Thai temple cremations (no frills whatever, no parties etc.) can cost 30,000 to 40,000 Baht and the NOK take the ashes away in a small jar and dispose of the ashes as agreed, not necessarily any cost. Family arrangements can be made to remove funds from banks. Simple example: I have several Thai bank accounts (2 Thai banks), all are joint savings accounts myself, and my Thai adult son, only one signature needed, all have an ATM card, son knows the PIN numbers. When it's time the family will quietly drain all the accounts. With my son present we have spoken to the call centre supervisors at the 2 Thai banks. Both indicated there's nothing wrong with draining the accounts (para above) and given that one of the two signatories is still alive this person (a Thai citizen) has every legal right to drain the accounts. Bank accounts abroad reduced to one bank now with a very small balance.
  8. I would ask the poster 'how perfect are you?'
  9. I'm aware that the SSO aimed some years back for all members to be using their national Thai ID card number (for Thai members) and the pink card number for non-Thais as the member number. For about 15 years prior my member number was from the old / previous member numbering system. In a conversation with an English speaking SSO officer (SSO 1506 Hotline) the officer mentioned that my old records (old member number) were locked but could be accessed if it was critical. She did mention that she could not 'on the spot' open / unlock my old records. I don't know what critical means).
  10. Very tired of your posts, you're now on 'ignore'.
  11. " Normally people get paid for modelling jobs, not have to pay." True but in this industry in Thailand (and many other countries) the fail to pay rate is very high.
  12. Wish there was a way ASEAN NOW members could ban morgan.
  13. Well no doubt he believes / wants to believe he's above the law therefore he cannot be jailed. I certainly hope that's not true. Sad day for the US if the president is above the law.
  14. Not surprised.
  15. This has come up numerous times in my uni classes, usually brought up by visiting international students. The most regular response from Thai students: "But if cars have to stop it will show down the flow of traffic". The usual Thai response to comments about 'pedestrians have the right to safely cross the road too' are seen as not relevant. A long way to go with this.
  16. And seems to me to be obvious there must have been a specific reason why she said that. But that background now seems to be ignored.
  17. 'You have to stop!' Actually not difficult to understand.
  18. Stupid comment.
  19. Note: honesty, sincerity, values, morals, not mentioned.
  20. 'All talk'. And I guess many folks have noted his claims that if he's not reelected WW3 will start. Hoping the punishment coming soon for the recent conviction is severe.
  21. Well there's a big assumption.
  22. A further point. We have several 'outer circle' local relatives who are totally convinced the drowned child had bad karma and the child is better off dead. This came up at our house and my Thai son went berserk at the person who mentioned bad karma etc., and especially as the mother and father of the drowned child were listening. the person (lady) who made the bad karma comments is now banned from every house in the family and the local police have told her to sell her house and move to another part of Thailand.
  23. Lots of different issues with design and doomed on day 1 because the design didn't work at all to attract large numbers of shoppers. Reality is that for the original developers (from Europe) Promenada is a second failure (first time in an EU country - from memory Poland). Will Prom. CM ever open again? Well a big question mark of course. One factor is the reported complex legal issues involved especially land titles. But seems to me the land / development already there must be attractive to a buyer at the right price. We wait and see.
