  1. But trumps comments are often lies and lacking in truth and create division.
  2. Then how come about 1 Million Americans died from Covid- 19?
  3. I've seen reports that biden and the snr. dems ignored her, gave her little to do. And at that level it would be expected that she follow instructions.
  4. Yes some do that but it's mostly folks who are poor and need 2 incomes a distance from home to survive.
  5. Not true, Vance is an awful presenter / orator, plus he talks total rubbish and not even common sense.
  6. The headline 'prawit faces jail' is a little over the top. Sure he was violent to the lady journalist but it's NOT instant jail. And maybe there's history between the two which prompted his violent outburst, but that doesn't make it OK to hit anybody including the media. Seems to me he thinks because of his military history etc he can do anything.
  7. Resend message with 2 photos. But still need to find a shop which can take care of this. A different question. Can 2 or 3 suitable remotes by coded with the same code number?
  8. 2 of 3 original remotes have failed. Son bought 2 new remotes from PAT, 650Baht each, cannot find a shop can code the new remotes. PAT want 1,000Baht to recode the 2 new remotes at their outlet in CM. They say will take 2 weeks and no guarantee the remotes will work. Yes I'm aware there's dozens of places online but I've contacted many with a photo of the internal wiring of the original remotes, but always same response - 'never seen this brand / this internal set up before'. Heard several comments about small shops in CM which can do the coding for the new remotes quickly and not expensive but so far cannot find any of these shops. Any suggestions / recommendations much appreciated, thanks.
  9. Good points. In Australia this subject is very serious, all zebra crossings 24 hrs a day. And at a very large % of crossings there's 24/7 HD cameras. Break the law and there's very serious punishments including jail. At all schools even more strict. Before start time, lunch breaks, after school numerous crossing monitors (paid adults not school kids) with flags and drivers must obey the monitors. Plus HD cameras, break the law and there's even more serious punishments including jail.
  10. I don't buy that. Zebra crossings exist to provide legal safety for pedestrians to cross the road and at zebra crossing drivers have a responsibility to check it's safe to proceed.
  11. Good Idea. Our condo didn't have that and any suggestion of such a sign would be ignored. Why? Because the lady who was the office manager (she didn't own or rent in the building) had no hesitation to tell all that ideas where her job, others should mind their own business. That came to a head and generated her instant dismissal at a later owners meeting.
  12. Agreed, plus, if another person claimed a highest number of lying medals trump would instantly change the numbers to give himself the medal.
  13. But who believes the numbers he quotes? I don't.
  14. "“Everything happened so fast. If she only had the presence of mind to press the alarm button.” 1. Do you ever use the alarm button, do you know where it's located? 1.a. Does the alarm button in the lifts in your building automatically connect to / start a conversation response from the condo office or the maintenance company? 2. If the lift starts to freefall I suspect many (many, not all) users would instantly grab anything they can hold only and keep holding on; e.g. most lifts have an internal railing about waist height inside the lift. 3. “We should press the button for every floor if the lift falls; it helps to slow it down.” Is that true?
  15. "We should press the button for every floor if the lift falls; it helps to slow it down.” Is this a fact or an assumption by a non-qualified person?
  16. Years back, the red truck drivers and the tuk tuk drivers aligned themselves to the red shirt movement. Their self appointed leader was a loud thaksin / red shirt mouthpiece who appointed herself as the decision maker for many things related to Chiang Mai. Hotels, civic organizations and more had to approach her for permission to breath. She tried at one point to dictate that red trucks and tuk tuk used for taking / returning kids to and from school had to be only red supporters. A mass gathering of parents put a stop to that, after a serious skirmish between red drivers and a group of fathers. Until that point the local RTP had turned a blind eye to the red lady leaders many proclemations.
  17. Additionally many of the the CM red Baht buses won't start an agreed journey until they have waited 10? minutes to see if there's any other passengers. And their prices are often a lot more expensive than GRAB, BOLT, etc.
  18. Just wondering what happens nw with the guy who has been a full minister but did some 8 years in Jail for various serious drug offences. Opinions / comments welcome.
  19. Reality is that the military machine controls all. The military machine has controlled the whole situation right back to 1932 ane further back than that. An old learned Thai professor mentioned at a seminar similar to the Siam Society decades ago that the military controlled everything, his e.g. 'leaders on elephant back fighting the Burmese'. Then 1932 happened as an attempt to install democracy but wasn't really a success and the whole sorry tale has bumped along ever since with the military keeping ultimate control.
  20. When I was a kid we often travelled by steam train (many carriages, always pretty full) to Adelaide, about 8 hr trip. The speed was 'very slow" and in some patches teenagers (and others) jumped down and ran a few hundred metres then jumped on board again. In fact they ran faster than the train / carriages were proceeding. Always several ticket collectors on board who were watching for potential accident spots, and a few times the 'runners' did hit posts etc. On one occasion a teenage boy suddenly appeared in our carriage sector with blood coming out of his head. The boy's mother was horrified any to explain that as he was getting ready to jump back onto the carriage stairs he had hit an upright pole and some fittings on the pole hit his head. He was 'running' with 2 buddies who managed to get him onto the carriage steps quickly then passengers on the train got him to his carriage section.
