  1. why should they need any more than a prescription? that is all that is required for other drugs, many if not all of which are more harmful
  2. It would actually appear that a few very vocal anti cannabis stalwarts still driven by ancient anti cannabis propaganda just cannot stop whinging . Some of them even claiming to take offence on behalf of imaginary ultra conservative families for fear of appearing pathetic
  3. The fact is there are restrictions, as far as I remember, causing a nuisance by smoking in public could be punished by a fine of up to 20,000 baht. I have not heard of this happening so one can only conclude that few if any members of the public have been outraged enough to complain, or when they have the police have not acted. my money is on option one as most of the complainers seem to prefer to spend their time on here trolllng
  4. personally I never smoke in public, It just the way I have become conditioned due to the illegal status of cannabis I am in my 60's and old habits die hard. I prefer to smoke discreetly at home . However I can understand the behaviour of of the younger generation who wish to enjoy the novelty of smoking as and when they want You can't blame them for smoking in public if nobody told them not to, and that, traditionally is the job of the police. Who were obviously told to step down by a higher authority, as leniency is not their strong point under normal circumstances As far as I can see the "problem" of public use is completely limited to tourists in tourist areas and hardly warrants an outright ban, just a few token arrests and fines would have cleared the problem and still could
  5. It has always intrigued me as to why the staunch anti cannabis brigade spend so much time on cannabis based threads. Trolling and generally insulting others is strange behaviour from people trying to or claiming to occupy the moral high ground. The really amazing thing is that their aversion to cannabis is based on 100 year old propaganda from the USA
  6. A sad day for civilisation as once again cannabis is sent underground on the whim of a politician
  7. The vast majority of the public do not care, you are confusing the whinging of a tiny but very vocal minority with the views of the silent majority who are not inclined to comment at all. As for putting up signs, there is nothing new about no smoking signs and I guarantee the restaurant has similar signs politely asking cigarette smokers not to smoke too so I can't see the point of the photo at all People smoking cigarettes in "non smoking" areas are generally subject to a fine of up to 5000 baht. I see no reason why somebody smoking a joint should be subject to a more severe penalty
  8. It does not need to be a controlled substance in order to stop public usage. just a simple rule forbidding public use, end of problem. Now what were you saying about common sense?
  9. some certainly seem to whinge more than most
  10. based basically on "reefer madness" like all anti cannabis rhetoric
  11. There is always some sort of "study" or "research" that allegedly backs up the leftists usual claims. Who ever it is it that commissions these endless and pointless surveys would probably have a major influence on the results. The fact is most people are just sick and tired of it all, and would rather they were all rounded up and sent home, that is afterall what immigration rules are for
  12. What do they mean exactly by "insured" What insurance are they referring to for Thais, and as for foreigners , why would they need to be insured ? could they not just pay up from their own funds?
  13. strange to see a low birth rate in a catholic country.
  14. is there any difference between a controlled substance and a narcotic in real terms?
  15. Same the world over, but don't forget to include Audis too, especially black ones
  16. That's exactly what I said, that the test itself is not "educational" but as you say, a way of checking that the education has been understood, However they could make the test here as difficult and demanding as they like, I doubt it would do much to improve things on the roads significantly, Its not rocket science to drive correctly and even your average "Somchai" is perfectly capable of operating a vehicle to the correct standard When he has to ie for the duration of the test. the problems start once he has passed and is able to drive unsupervised as he will invariably soon resort to type Some sort of attitude adjustment would appear to be necessary for many
  17. When I learnt to drive the entire learning process took place behind the wheel of a car on the public road. accompanied at least by a qualified driver but normally by a driving instructor it was called a "driving lesson" That was the educational part The driving test was to check I had learnt how to drive correctly it was not educational in itself A "test drive" is for the purpose of checking out the condition of a car before buying it Seems like a strange reaction but Laugh or cry whatever you feel is appropriate. I didn't mention university ! but as far as driving education is concerned "driving schools" are not uncommon in developed countries and can even be found over here Lets just leave it at that shall we
  18. Why not? they are both intoxicants, often overpriced, and have both been subject to prohibition. The users of red wine tend to be a bit more pretentious, but some cannabis users are going that way too.
  19. Sorry I missed that, tell me again what can "extreme violence with blades" lead to?
  20. I think its also got something to do with a morbid fear of failing the test, lol especially if their mrs has passed it lol either way, as you say they could allay their fears simply by reading the OP
  21. no test "makes you better" that is not the purpose of a test. EDucation is the traditional way of improving or learning
