Jesus its not rocket science, they could simply supply you with a separate meter, hard wired to your charging device with a tamper proof seal. The new smart meters being forced on the UK population are probably intended for that very purpose, or soon will be , Its just a fad at the moment , once it becomes mainstream , rest assured they will have their pound of flesh one way or the other.

So you have conveniently ignored the possibility that electricity used for recharging EV's will be subject to a levy. If we all stopped buying petrol or diesel how would you expect governments to recoup the lost revenue ? Or maybe there will be a special tax on coffee and muffins, maybe even a public toilet tax. The money will need to come from somewhere.

Some of the Ev drivers on this thread appear to live in a parallel universe, where they spend around half of their lives in public toilets , Amazon coffee outlets, and 7-11s The latter two don't come particularly cheap , so let's add the cost of those "essentials" on to the amazing running costs, Not so cheap now is it?

No of course I have never driven a taxi, but have sat in plenty in Bangkok and without fail toll money is collected at the point of payment never at the end of the journey. They did not refuse to pay the fare the argument was clearly only about the toll fee, we will never know exactly what was discussed and agreed.
