    FedEx hold up

Hi folks, against my instruction a Singapore shipper used FedEx to send a package here and now see the below. Anyone ran into this and know how to clear? Package is in Samut Prakarn.
  2. If anyone is interested there is a lady at the Journal Hotel who carries out book restoration. Hotel is in the Changpueak area.
  3. I've used the above MacCafe. My iMac was 8 years old at the time and would no longer load the operating system and they fixed that and returned in 2 days. Give them a go and be specific as to your requirements and doubt you'll be disappointed.
  4. Thanks I'll pay a visit.
  5. Hi folks, can anyone recommend someone who is skilled at restoring older books. There are several in various conditions that badly need the attention of a skilled restorer. Thank you

  8. I recently used Pattrara Prepress as recommended two posts above and results were fine. I paid 500baht each for 4 posters 75x60cm.
  9. Suggest a bit of homework first to see which on these are not taking the same approach to tax as Thailand.
  10. Couldn't handle Caipirinha but caipiroska was a fabulous alternative that needed to be treated with respect.
  11. I know the owner who I believe is Austrian if it makes any difference and his dogs of which numbered 5 when I was last in Bang Saphan 3 of which are full size Thai ridgebacks and the others are Bangkaew. He walks them every morning at 6 on the beach (he lives 100 yards back) and never are the dogs on a lead. He's had the police called on him more than once before but each time 'settlements are arranged' but this is the first time I've heard of his dogs attacking anyone.
  12. I just completed this quiz. My Score 90/100 My Time 100 seconds
  13. Had lunch today at Norden the Swedish restaurant which has been smartened up since my last visit. One standout item on the menu for this bloke is the halibut which never disappoints. Top spot.
  14. Huen Phen / Dukes / Chippy / Gecko / Billy's. Enough said?
  15. No Sipolle fans out there? May not be the best but never been disappointed.
  16. Closed to foreigners has been for years. Chiang Khong will oblige.
  17. 5 times a day I believe but didn't stick around to count.
  18. Many moons ago I looked at Floral before buying at Rimping. Problem to me at Floral was the lay out but that was for a larger condo 150sq mts 2 bed. Far too much space wasted plus the balcony was smaller than what I was looking for and the unit I looked at was on the mosque side. I ended up buying a 160sq mtr 3 bedroom north facing unit with uninterrupted river and city views. Price for both units was the same all them years ago. The grounds of Floral are far superior to Rimping where the swimming pool is on the 6th floor and covered by floors above (read bloody cold) plus there are no outside areas to match those at Floral. Rimping has condos in the 100sq mtr range but I'm not up on rental prices but if you view make sure you stay away from the southern side which has traffic noise. There is an office at Rimping open 0800-1700 daily but they typically only show condos owned by the people who built and still own a number of condos but there are others posted beside the office as available. Both of these condos are in the 20-25 year old range which has massive benefits over the modern day shoe boxes for similar prices be it rental or purchase. Good luck

  20. Been to Myanmar a dozen times most recently earlier this month and can't relate to too much here: Hard to get to. 15 flights or so a day from Bangkok to Yangon and 2-3 to Mandalay. Additional from Chiang Mai to Yangon. Land border restricted to Kawthoung at present. Visa required. Yes and e visa a breeze with recent dropping of Covid & insurance requirements. 3 days tops to receive. Terrible food. Local food doesn't compare to Thai agreed but plenty of international options in Yangon plus there is the delights of Little India there. Admittedly far less options outside of main towns. Will get sick. Haven't yet and no history of reports on travellers forums unlike places like India. All that said tough to recommend the country due to ongoing atrocities but a trip to Yangon is always a delight. Love the place and back again October for a festival.
  21. Yes aware of colour fade but I take a fair few photos so if I get 6 months out of them I'm content and will go again but just need to locate an outfit that can produce a quality product. Largest banner is 2.90x.80mts.
  22. Hi folks, looking for an outfit to print my photographs onto vinyl banners and willing to pay for a quality product. Any recommendations? I did try one outfit not a million miles from Lotus Kamthieng but colours completely saturated so ready for attempt 2. Previously used a graphic design outfit that used to be on the first floor of Kad Suan Kaew near the cluster of banks but lost track of them once the centre closed. Thanks
  23. Pretty sure letter of the law states 'within 24 hours of arriving back in Thailand' or words to that effect. Think you'll find that to be correct in CM. TM30 can be reported online these days but you need to register to get a log in: https://chiangmai.immigration.go.th/en/front-page-english/?fbclid=IwAR181nuY0QsiH1YtEXjM0UTet0suJttRs_Imu3cRXACS_Ysip4yCctLLcPA#onlineservice-2
  24. Absolutely correct for Chiang Mai. Other immigration offices may abide by different interpretations of the rules.
  25. I did state earlier that I report in Chiang Mai and absolutely no surprise rules are different (interpretation) elsewhere.
