  1. Where ever I am, because without fail I see a new beautiful girl and even "most beautiful" girl. Let's face it, as men we are blessed as there are so many beautiful women here, whether they be pale skinned or dark skinned. Find a girl you like, keep her because she has something more to offer than just a pretty face and good body and discreetly oggle the eye candy.

  2. ManinSurat summed it up wonderfully. Am I near 90%? No, but I could go a full day without speaking any English. I have been here for about 4 years and after 1-2 I felt comfortable. I did move back to the US so I would say about 6+ years speaking it, 4+ where I seriously tried. My ex had a MS TEFL and would help explain complicated subjects, however she rarely corrected my incorrect pronunciations. My new GF is much better with being honest about my Thai. A few weeks ago I took up a private tutor for reading and writing because I find myself bored with self study and if I pay for something I keep at a schedule. I have grown a lot in a few short weeks and hope to pass the 6th grade equivalency test within a year.

  3. I have a 3 brm 3bath fully furnished detached house in a land and house moo Baan in San Sai/ Mae Jo about 15-25 minutes from the old city. Beautiful neighborhood . Two security checkpoints to my house. 30 baht a day extra Club house privileges with pool, jacuzzi, sauna, treadmills, weight machine and free weights. Modern kitchen with oven and stove. Extractor fan above stove. Washing machine, AC in master bedroom and living room only and two car carport, completely fenced with moderate garden/yard. I just rented it for a year for 18000 baht a month. Many people I talk to say I got beat. Now I am wondering if I am paying too much. Any input?

People say you got beat because there are tons of 5-10k baht houses of similar size out that way. But what it comes down to is the quality of the furnishings, security, and amenities versus these other places.

  4. I lucked out, I rent the top floor of an art tutoring place (townhouse) There are kids here Sat and Sun 10-4ish, but I am friends with all the instructors, I am alone M-F except for when said friends are hanging out here. I have free reign of the 3 story town house, which is in Nimm. I pay no utilities, free 20mb internet. And all I pay is 3000B

GF lives in BKK and I am younger and a teacher, so the kids are no trouble and when my Gf is here there is no trouble as well.

Added bonus, the water pressure on the 3rd floor is insanely strong!

  5. Performance depends on the car. Back in the US my 02 mustang saw no performance gains from the EGR delete, the only reason I did delete it was when I swapped LT headers on and the dam_n thing wouldn't come off the stock exhaust so we hacked it off, plugged it and used a hand held tuner to turn off my check engine light. I passed inspection and emissions with this done.

  6. Kwai Puak, Just Puak when we are not only around friends.

I know it means Albino Buffalo and that's the point.

After drinking with my Thai friends one night we were just going at and fuc_king around, and I believe my friend was getting up to go to the bathroom so I asked him "Bai doi paw mung law?" Going to a****ck your father? And I got an "Oi, Kwai Puak" back. I called him "ling dam" but couldn't stop laughing about the name and it stuck.

Now it's a joke about a comparison to the albino elephants. I may be a buffalo, but I am the best and most important buffalo!

Honestly, if this type of banter and bullshit bothers you or think that Thai don't give each other equally discouraging nicknames, it might be time to see about getting some thicker skin.

However, being called kwai by someone I don't know is going to get a totally different reaction.

  7. Friend is getting on this week, so I will take it for a spin, I wish it wasn't automatic, takes so much fun out of driving...

Well i guess the closest thing to a manual Zoomer would be a KLX 110.

150cc GY6 conversion to a ruckus/zoomer and then up bore to 190cc, and then realize you could have bought an ERN6 haha

  8. 5 months, I'm picky and would rather be single than date someone I don't see things working out with. Been on plenty of dates during that time, but nothing of the like to make me consider a longer relationship, until a few months ago.

When I was young a "date" involved taking a young lady out to the movies etc, but no sex was involved. Has the meaning changed now?

For some it might, but that's the exact way that I am using it and for reference I am 30.

I recently moved back to Thailand in April and the previous year divorced my Thai wife. We actually remain great friends and work together 3 times a week, we just are like a flame and a keg of dynamite together,

So, I started meeting girls through friends, coworkers, meeting them at night spots like Warm Up and Riverside. Then go out on a date with them and get to know them. More often than not it ended with one or two dates, though we still might meet up for drinks, because our ideals didn't line up. I figure you either end up together for "good" or separated, so why start something off when things don't look promising. My my current girlfriend on a whim as I went to a going away party for a coworker, she was visiting said coworker and we hit it off. The ex I met at work.

I've never had a chaperoned date though.

  9. Sorry, but I want some steel around me when there is a crash. Plus, who wants to sit in the hot sun whilst riding a bike?

Sit? I zip around traffic, and pull multiple let hand turns to bypass an intersection and the second you accelerate you are cool again.

  10. I'm divorced and my inlaws still invite me over for dinner.

If I see them when I'm out it's wai's and hugs and we might even catch lunch or dinner together.

I also help my Ex with her tutoring business 3 times a week.

It was a very amicable divorce and we both realized it was easier to forgive and move on with life rather than spend it being spiteful.
