OOI, when you have time, all the TP reviews I've ever seen have posting dates.

Precisely! Thus making religion irrelevant.
-
Progress, by definition "development towards an improved or more advanced condition." Progress must, therefore be positive. The problem with accusing certain rules as being minor is that yes, they are minor to you (and me) but go towards forming the tenets of the whole religion.
-
Which is where you're (unwittingly) agreeing with my earlier post. The book is of unknown provenance and rather than development, I'd use the term modification - to something that was imaginary in the first place. The books referenced in other religions share similar characteristics.

Acceptable to whom? "Society" consists of a heterogenous collection of people. It's not a homogeneous "lump"

It's possible that some of the advice was relevant 5000 years ago, but is no longer. Example: Jews and Moslems are forbidden pork because it is "unclean" in their view. Well, 5000 years ago, when there were no refrigerators, eating unrefrigerated pork was possibly responsible for stomach ailments. In 2025, that is hardly the case. Catholics apparently eat fish on Fridays, or rather abstain from meat. Something to do with an imaginary person dying on a Friday. How is that relevant? Now the 10 commandments, taken in isolation, make some sense. Stealing and similar are covered by laws, such things as adultery are, surely, personal matters. @BangkokReady Surely, being liberal and progressive is progress, not as you imply a negative thing? Yes, my opinion is somewhat contentious but only to (respectfully) explain my refuting your opinion.

It's not what other people believe it's more how some of the "believers" force their beliefs on others. See @dinsdale post above. If people want to worship something, and don't harm others, then it's basically harmless, BUT look at fundamentalists of various faiths, taking religion and twisting it to cause dissent, violence and war. THERE's the harm.

Couldn't agree more!

Religion is certainly the biggest and longest-lasting conspiracy theory there's ever been. Books of unknown provenance, people conversing with their imaginary friends. It's all medieval nonsense.

In my albeit limited experience if food cools too quickly, the tasted and texture seem to suffer. As bad is if you defrost food too quickly. To the original point, this is what I believe:. https://www.bosch-home.co.uk/stories/tips-and-tricks/can-you-put-hot-food-in-the-fridge

4 of my favourite comedians - excellent 😆😆

Nobody expected that....

I hadn't looked at it like that - thank you.

Thanks @Sheryl May I add that if I have hot food leftovers, I always wait until it cools, then refrigerate it - if I'm not certain that I'll use it the next day I freeze it. So, in my case, the refrigerator does make the food colder but also keeps it cool and safe from marauding insects etc. But I do think that we Westerners are a little too "precious" and don't allow our immune systems to work. I think (and you will correct me if I'm wrong) that the immune system weakens if unused, like other parts of our bodies, muscles in particular. In England, there used to be a saying "You have to eat a peck of dirt before you die" - in no way is that to be considered scientific but I think it's still true!

My bad!!! 🤬 👍for the correction - geographically challenged or what! 😆 What was I thinking - still, my other comments about the shop and the ease of obtaining such items still apply. -

I remember going to the Cambodian border, (Mae Sot as I recall?) many years ago with a friend who lived in Pichit. He walked across the bridge to do his in/out while I waited for him on the Thai side, just on the riverbank. Strolling around, I spotted a shop selling all kinds of militaria, belts, holsters, flak jackets, balaclavas, batons, pepper sprays but all in packs of 20!! The shop owner came out invited me to visit the back room of the shop, but I declined. I always thought of the place as the "Arm your revolution here" shop - scary 😲 -
Immigration Thailand Digital Arrival Card. TDAC
VBF replied to CharlieH's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Thanks to those who've reported back 👍 So for now, it seems like just "get the TDAC and forget it". I won't be back for a few moths by which time it'll be glaringly obvious whether a printout is even worth the sheet of paper. Of course by that time, some other "genius" will have had a "good idea"...ho hum. -
Who are the other two? 😁

Immigration Thailand Digital Arrival Card. TDAC

The reports so far suggest that if you have done it they can already see it on their system, based on your passport. So the need to present anything is not indicated, although it would be a good idea to have it just in case. Obviously, you need to be connected to WiFi or mobile data, to complete the TDAC so if you download it to your phone, rather than just read it when it arrives it'll still be readable when you're not connected. (Same as any documents you have stored on your phone, like passport copies, travel insurance etc.) But as is being said, once you've completed the TDAC it'll be on the system anyway. As an aside, I never quite understood why the SETV that one paid for wasn't automatically on the system, but one was specifically told to print that. Actually, there is an official answer to the question on the FAQ page - looks like this -
Report Pattaya Launches Air-Con Mobile Toilets for Residents and Tourists

Can I play a bit of "1-upmanship"? "If you voted for Trump, you can't s**t here 'cos your a-hole's in Washington" OR "If you voted for Starmer, you can't s**t here 'cos your a-hole's' in London" One must be fair, after all 😂 -
Your point is valid - your accusation about stupid remark is not! I've been to stately homes with libraries of leather-bound volumes so i get that. To you, perhaps books are seen as you describe - I used to feel that way about vinyl records. I actually value the content more - records have gone! As for clothes, all I can say is "I disagree"...but I'm saying it politely!

Books - get eBooks and the appropriate reader. When I visit Thailand I bring over 200 books in my carry-on....on my Kindle. There are as many free eBooks as there is free music if you look in the appropriate websites. Clothes - have you actually checked the prices in Thailand? Over the years, I've bought so many shirts and shorts in Thailand (and Cambodia) that I now have none bought in the UK. Depending on where you're going to be living, that may be all you need. If you're planning on living somewhere like Bangkok you will probably want long trousers I imagine but if, say Phuket or Pattaya why would you? Digital equipment is cheap as chips (pun intended) compared with UK but i don't know about the US / India prices. Many of the components in my computers are "Made in Thailand" Cannot advise you about art supplies - I know nothing about that.

Travel Fake TDAC Website Emerges as New System Debuts in Thailand
VBF replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Clearly. The ignorance of such people who don't bother to find out often astounds me. It's the same here in UK - people paying over the odds for things like driving licences by going to non-government sites. I'm tempted to suggest that they're just lazy and deserve to have to pay!
