Immigration Thailand Digital Arrival Card. TDAC
VBF replied to CharlieH's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
It's just a thought (!) but quite a few people have asked "what about this bit of the form" or similar. I would suggest that when completing a TDAC web page, if you're not sure about an answer AND it lets you move on to complete the application by leaving it blank, AND acknowledges with a QR code, then assume its done. It's not as if it costs anything after all. -

No "Ocean front property in Phoenix, Arizona" then? -
Absolutely right - found this AI-generated definition which sums it up perfectly: Police in UK typically refer to traffic collisions as "road traffic collisions" (RTCs). The term "accident" is generally avoided as it implies a random, unavoidable event, whereas collisions often involve human factors or other contributing elements.

Economy Thai Baht's Rise in Jeopardy Amid Political Uncertainty
VBF replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Try reading beyond the headline, like even the first 1/2 sentence: "The Thai baht's recent four-month rally ......" Well I cannot see it either. 4 months to now is March to July. Between Feb to April this year, I was getting an average of 42.69 to the UKP at TT Exchange Today, July 8th, TT Exchange is offering 43.98. https://ttexchange.com/exchange-rate 129 Baht difference in my favour on a £!00 exchange How is that a 4-month rally that is decimating tourism? -

I agree - i wouldn't have thought that combination should raise any questions, given Singapore's history. Ignorance abounds! -

They did get some practice with the eVisa a few years ago. That was "somewhat unwieldy" when introduced, but last time i used it, was easy as you like. Maybe learning lessons? -
Report Thai Pensioner Scammed 51k Baht in Silicone Doll Fraud
VBF replied to snoop1130's topic in Isaan News
Has one ingested a thesaurus, perchance? 🤔 Seriously though, three key points here seem to be: 51,000 baht for a silicone doll 😲 ....a seemingly legitimate offer he encountered on Facebook. (Isn't that an oxymoron?) ....import and sale of sex toys are technically banned under the Customs Act..... Well, who would've thought it? This guy doesn't seem to have acquired much common sense despite his age. -
From memory, we were so busy that yes it did. It's a long time ago, so such details are a bit blurry but hat's how I remember it.

I worked in the US some years ago. On the morning of July 4th, I was greeted in the workshop with cries of "It's Kick-a-Brit day" As you might imagine, I was expecting it and replied: Well, we call it "Cure-a-haemorrhoid day" There followed a stunned silence.....

Thanks 👍 Next time i'm in Thailand i'll open TuneIn and have a listen. I'm into Radio 4 Extra for comedy and BBC6 Music.
-
That is interesting BBC stations are not on TuneIn IF you're in UK. I hadn't realised i could get them on TuneIn outside UK. Are you sure that's still the case?

Bet the spin cycle was fun....

I have no idea of the visa requirements for Bahrain and China. Many years ago Brits could enter Bahrain without a visa - when I worked in Saudi we used to go on "Rugby tours" for the weekend, but that was back in the 80s. Border crossing - i don't know - sorry TDAC - as you say. (DTAC is a phone company 🙄) When will you mention address? In my OPINION - NEVER! That might make them think you're something other than a tourist - just say you're going to Bangkok - that's what tourists do - Surin...not so often. I suppose you could email a Bangkok hotel asking about reservations, or start one on a booking site, and print it to show the IO. However I think that's a bit overkill. Once they grant you entry, they'll have no idea what you do or where you go (assuming you obey the laws of course!)
-
Ahhh....as you say, your original post was unclear - i thought you were asking about a visa for Bahrain. I can't offer you any advice for Bahrain except to say cross yer fingers and hope all is on time! As for Thailand: Are you a a British PP holder? My comments are based on that being the case If you're not, I just don't know the answers to your questions If you haven't been for 2 years, and can show that you're leaving Thailand after a holiday , then you should get a Visa-Exempt entry of 60 days NOT a VOA. So have an air ticket leaving Thailand within 60 days of arrival, if you can show the equivalent of 10,000 Baht that might help but that is rarely asked for (never in my case), look respectable and be polite to the IO. Good Luck 😎
-
Just to clarify, if you're a transit passenger, although you're physically on the ground in Bahrain airport, you stay "airside", or, in other words, you never actually go through Bahraini Immigration to enter Bahrain. Therefore, no visa required.

Thanks - I'm not a doctor either but my procedure above worked so all's well. 👍

You're welcome. My approach is to apply the drops at night, put cotton wool in the ear and sleep on the other side so that gravity makes the drops seep into the ear. That avoids poking foreign objects towards the very delicate ear drum. I found that as the drops feed through, you can feel them in your throat which is odd but not unpleasant. Considering "ENT" that makes sense - it is not an instant procedure though - you might need to repeat over a couple of nights. Eventually it clears itself - you can always tug on the earlobe and / or blow your nose to assist the process. This can help too https://www.cuddlefishdivers.com/post/blocked-ears-after-diving#:~:text=Another technique to help clear, deeper into your ear canal.

Immigration Thailand Digital Arrival Card. TDAC
VBF replied to CharlieH's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Thanks 👍 I somehow got it into my head that Immigration were separate from RTP in some way. Your clarification makes it even stranger that they don't all have access to the same database. Perhaps in time......
