Actually it doesn't have a question. It has a box to check in the accommodation section so you don't need to enter address details. In any event if you are not passing through immigration you don't need a TDAC. I wonder why they even bother with that box then. Maybe if you tick that, it responds with something like "No TDAC needed" . Of course it would be helpful if, on the portal, it actually stated that, if you're staying in transit, you don't need one, whereas it actually says ". All passengers must complete the Thailand Digital Arrival Card.".

Not actual help, (sorry) but a comment on my experience. I had to renew my UK PP and attempted to use some (allegedly approved) pics I had taken in Pattaya. I'd used them for Thai and Cambodian visas / extensions with no problems. However, they were refused by UK's Identity and Passport Service, and i had to get others taken. I had checked the file sizes and picture resolution (PPI and DPI) and they appeared to be compliant but were refused by the automatic checker. It was no biggie as i was in UK at the time but something about the UK checking process caused them to be refused. I have to assume that they were regarded as a security risk of some sort but I don't know for sure. I suspect that Oz might be the same.

I agree - done the same even though i'm not affected personally, I find it reprehensible, that people who've EARNED their pensions are denied them just because they choose to live abroad. Spot on! 👍 The original article (and several of those following it in various media) mentioned Immigrant Visas so why the hell potential tourists were getting all wound up beats me. I think many people read news articles and see what they want to see or what they fear seeing, rather than read and think about what the article actually states.

Indeed - in the UK the Health and Safety Executive examine proposals in microscopic detail before permits to work are issued. Woe betide any organisation flouting their rules. I worked as an IT contractor and years ago, one of my contracts was with the Royal Mail on a new sorting office. Despite us working in offices and sorting areas, the whole site was, at the time, still in the control of the building contractor. Therefore, it was defined in law as a building site, therefore we all had to wear safety boots, hard hats and high-viz jackets..or else! Perhaps that was OTT, but the adage "Better safe than sorry" comes to mind. Sadly, in Thailand, "mai pen rai" seems to be prevalent. And on another tack, adding a little light hearted comment to this grimness, I remember, years ago being in Pattaya watching workers building some shop-houses. The workers were clad in baseball caps and flip-flops running around on bamboo scaffolding - no guard rails visible. There was another Brit standing there watching and audibly counting something. Curious, I asked him what he was counting. His reply: "In UK I work for the HSA, and I've just counted 27 ways I could shut this lot down." My response was: "Well go inside and touch a light switch and you'll probably make it 28" it was his first trip to Thailand and he was just incredulous.
