Pattaya Bars Empty Amid Low Season and Shifting Tourism Trends
Sou 6 has been dieing for the last 6 or 7 years. Leave it to the tourists....there are far better places in Pattaya now.

Pattaya Bars Empty Amid Low Season and Shifting Tourism Trends
Who the hell cares what people think? Worrying about "society's opinions" is basically a sign of insecurity. As long as all involved are consenting adults, just go your own way. Talking of which, just off to a Gentleman's Club 😆

Thai Airways Eyes Global Top 10 Ranking with New Strategies
I'm minded to try Qatar next trip. I need to check if they fly to LGW and if they offer the limousine service. One thing does irritate me with Emirates and that's when I book, all sectors are on the A380 but last year and this, they changed DXB - LGW to the Boeing 777. Still last time I complained and got 10000 air miles compensation. We shall see what happens this time 🤔😯

Thai Airways Eyes Global Top 10 Ranking with New Strategies
Will Indeed be interesting. My comparison of TG Vs Emirates was both in biz class on an A380. If you think of it, update this thread please.

Thai Airways Eyes Global Top 10 Ranking with New Strategies
I was forced to fly TG in 2020. They've got a LONG way to go to even approach the quality of service offered by Emirates. I'm told the same applies to Qatar.

How to reduce the risk of insurance claim denials?
Thanks Sheryl.... that's exactly the case👍👍 Mine is travel insurance which I thought I mentioned but maybe not.

How to reduce the risk of insurance claim denials?
I don't....just looked at my trip extension document and THAT PART is clearly stated as an ANNUAL CONTRACT So each year I must renew that part of the policy to cover myself against heart attacks and related ailments. Any new issues are covered as the year rolls on but they may then become existing issues at renewal. Respectfully, whatever anyone else thinks the wording of my policy is what counts. Your understanding may well be true for YOUR policy, I'm certain about mine. Cheers!

How to reduce the risk of insurance claim denials?
Sorry but you're incorrect. The basic policy continues but the covered preexisting conditions are ONLY covered under the extension I mentioned earlier. Mine is for a previous heart attack so without the extension, any future heart problems are not covered. This extension is valid for a year at a time. Does that clarify @richard_smith237 ?
-
How to reduce the risk of insurance claim denials?
I disagree. I have to notify my insurers about preexisting conditions and then pay an extra premium for an extension that is actually extra cover for said conditions. Whilst the basic policy rolls over annually, this extension is clearly stated as being for 1 year only so I shall need to renew it again next year.

Future Uncertain for Retiree Bank Accounts in Thailand
A cynical or in other words REALISTIC view with which I agree! I use Google wallet or cards in UK when it suits ME but REALLY hope the cash option remains available Cash in Thailand as I only have UK cards. By the way, a little but anyone know if Prompt Pay can be funded from a foreign card?

Thailand Visa Exemption (60 days) and Visa On Arrival (VOA) (15 days)
Exactly that happened to me at SUV in 2024. Despite having been given my printed TV (necessary then) the IO stamped me in for 30 days. I handed the passport back to him and he apologised and corrected it and stamped my boarding pass as well . Needless to say, I kept everything until I left Thailand ALWAYS CHECK BEFORE YOU LEAVE THE IO DESK, land or air arrival.

Resurrect old bank account
Indeed not. My comment was meant more as a general "FYI" for those unfamiliar with the rules.
-
Resurrect old bank account
Please remember that the credit of interest does NOT count as a transaction in this situation, at least in the case of SCB.
-
Resurrect old bank account
Well it's not lieing. You did say you emptied rather than closed it.... perhaps that's why. I presume different banks have different procedures.
-
Resurrect old bank account
My understanding too regarding procedure. Possibly, even though the account appears on the app, if you click on it, perhaps it goes nowhere or issues an error message?? That was the case with one of my UK accounts until I asked the bank to remove it

Why do people still believe in covid?
Try looking around you instead of intentionally baiting people on here. @Lacessit Ralf001 is probably better ignored as a troll.... Look at his replies to me in this thread😙

Tourist Brawl in Phuket Sparks Debate on Visitor Behavior - video
Saddest thing is that 30 years ago Phuket deserved to be called by that name....it was lovely. I'm glad I had my good times there - sorry for those who'll never know what it was like.

Why do people still believe in covid?
You've had the answer both ways whether they are or not. And I'm not specifically talking about Thailand when I discuss my personal behaviour. THAT remains the same worldwide

Why do people still believe in covid?
You don't? If I happen to be out and about with no access to hot water, then I would use sanitiser. Either way I'm a nice clean boy😎
