  1. Neither agreeing nor disagreeing with you, @Mr Meeseeks but you've actually quoted my reply to @spidermike007 there....just FYI, you understand.
  2. Merely out of interest @kwaussie how old are you? I'm not asking to have a go at you, merely because with all the faults I see in Phuket, I can still see its attractions for a younger "hipper" crowd. Pattaya which I prefer does attract a lot of us "old geezers" - maybe that's another thing in its favour for some of US - I'm 70 this year by the way.
  3. All credit card statistics mean, IMO, is that a particular place favours that card as a means of payment. In Thailand where a lot of people still prefer to use cash (me for one) statistics from card companies are meaningless - merely advertising and self-promotion.
  4. Thank you Benny Hill 😂
  5. Or if you're Scottish, jobbie done 😎
  6. Don't bother drying - mostly in Thailand it's hot enough not to bother - I just stand up and put the trolleys and strides back on 😂 You could shake yer bootie a bit first of course......
  7. Especially on a moving train, with the track visible below the toilet! 😥 Tip: If travelling by train in Thailand, eat lightly the previous day. 🙄
  8. Once again Mike, you hit the nail on the head. In the late 80s up to the early part of this century, Phuket was approaching idyllic and my "go-to" destination, and I visited every year. That has changed in so may ways, such as you describe. Add to that the fact that nearly all the friends I made there have moved on or sadly died, I've no intention of visiting again. However, IMO, you and the government / tourist association have missed one vital point: comparing Phuket and Pattaya is like comparing chalk and cheese and always has been. Pattaya is as you describe plus it's brash and edgy and you love it or hate it. Personally I'll be arriving there in a little less than a month and can't wait! However 2 months there will be enough - time to go.
  9. Never let the truth stand in the way of a good story 😎
  10. Not knowing the deceased, I make this comment cautiously, but I suspect Mr Di Niro is VERY well set up financially. Therefore if anything was to happen to him, I assume his offspring would be well taken care of. That's NOT a substitute for losing a father of course, but hopefully would assure the child's well-being.
  11. Reminded me of a couple more...... What's pink and hard in the morning? The Financial Times crossword. What's the difference between light and hard? You CAN go to sleep with a light on.
  12. There can be. Although the OP quoted "reading glasses" the prescription might be more complex and include correction for other issues, then that's the way he should go. However if he just needs magnifiers then the glasses available in markets all over the place are good enough.
  13. Was thinking I might try that, sometime this year or next.....
  14. Odd how you put Trump and good taste in the same sentence. Must've been a typo... 😊
  15. I doubt he ever was - he is Jewish after all! 🙄 OK already
  16. Roger, Roger 😎
  17. Shirley, he cannot be serious 😆
  18. Usually they say 'on the tips of your toes'. OK, some fool had to post this.......
  19. Ain't that the truth!!! (But I'm willing to take the risk in Pattaya)😎😂
  20. And on an ever-so slightly serious note, IMO this is the best W&G yet. I watched it and am keeping it to watch again.
  21. When you say "registered", how exactly? Thanks for the response and yes, even apps from the PS CAN cause problems, however my entire Thai phone is logged into a separate Google identity and there are no financial apps on it. (For example if I use Bolt, I'll be paying cash) Set this way just in case the phone is lost or stolen or I use unsecure Wi-Fi in Thailand with the possibility of "man in the middle" attacks. Any pictures etc will obviously go to one account and I can simply download them on my laptop from one Google account and store them locally or cloud and/or upload them to another account' Drive. Done automatically on the laptop when I log in. Never entirely fool proof, but good as it gets
  22. Hey!!! Stop getting ahead of yourself - there's Pancake Day and Valentine's Day to bitch and moan about first!! 😎😂😂
  23. Casino, Casablanca, Dirty Harry and sequels, , All the James Bond films except those with Roger Moore or George Lazenby , Dirty Dozen, Zulu, The Italian Job (1969 original only), The Blues Brothers, The Blues Brothers 2000, The Long Good Friday, Most of Laurel & Hardy's movies, all the St Tinian's movies with Alastair Sim and George Cole, Alfie, The Day of the Jackal, Godfather 1 and 2, any of the Monty Python movies especially Life of Brian, most of the Carry Ons (Sorry!) the Kingsman series, most of Jason Statham's moves, any of the Pink Panther movies with Peter Sellers, most of the Ealing comedies. All of the above in my collection for when the mood occurs!
  24. Being serious (boring!) for just a moment, I thought I'd look at the App. It's on the Google Play Store (Trusted Source) and Play Protect scans successfully, also my Norton 360 scans it successfully. Naturally, I've turned Permissions to "Only allow when using".
