  1. There is no need for South Americans, enough Americans already believe that the earth is flat and created 6,000 years ago.
  2. I always keep my laptop unlocked in my carry-ons. In the forty years I have been crisscrossing the world, I have never had my laptop stolen. My rented car trunk was rampaged, and the laptop was taken out of the backpack once in a rest area in Portugal while I was eating inside the building. A person told me that he saw earlier that a Spanish guy was going through my trunk, and as he approached, he ran away. It was a close call, but I still wonder today how he knew it was a Spanish guy and not a Portuguese. On a side note, I noticed a lot of illegal Bangladeshis in the Netherlands, Germany, and Denmark are moving to Portugal. I met a few of them, and they told me the pressure from the authority (raids, unexpected document checks, etc.) is less in Portugal compared to other countries they moved from. I also met a crazy Portuguese driver obsessed with Trump and wondered how stupid it is for Americans to vote for a dictator. I applauded him for his extensive knowledge of American politics. 🙂
  3. Not for cash advances using CC but for ATM withdrawals using debit cards. I tried this at three banks, and they asked me to punch my pin, and a charge was levied. Of course, my bank will refund any ATM charges worldwide, but I wanted to check this feature as many members have posted here. It's useless for me to line up for a bank teller; instead, I now use ATMs and CCs exclusively.
  4. There has been an uptick in Chinese nationals stealing from carry ons on airlines. This is the third report.
  5. I have posted her multiple times. I get four girls here for the price of one in the US.
  6. What do you expect when Westerners are trying to work illegally in Thailand and many still do. Maybe not in the jobs that Thais do in Dubai, but illegal work is illegal work. I met a guy in Samui who said he would work for free beer in any place that offered him free beer, and he wanted to live in Thailand. I asked him what is so great about Thailand that you wanted to ruin your future working for free beer. He says he likes the relaxed approach to things in Thailand. I told his what you're seeking is illegal work.
  7. You are correct. For me, more bike riding is okay in the back alleys for errands. I never drive on Sukhumvit (part time Pattaya resident).
  8. So be it. Foreigners have travelled 10,000 miles to find a life and a woman in a foreign land, but locals have not. That is the difference. If you cannot figure out the difference, you're lost.
  9. Comparing with Thai people is meaningless and gives you more stress. All foreigners must behave, and the slightest deviation must be dealt with harshly. The gall of these people travelling 10,000 miles to find a life and women in some cases that they could not find in their home country and then behaving rudely with the locals because the locals can go scot free for the same behavior. What a stupid arguments. Locals did not travel 10,000 miles to find their life and love in a foreign land. If foreigners are not dealt harshly for the slightest inappropriate behavior, it will cause chaos, and foreigners will go berserk in Thailand, as evidenced by their postings on YouTube, TikTok, and other social media platforms.
  10. Have you seen the amount of posting in Facebook groups about finding jobs in Thailand and offering to help strangers with their menial work like moving, babysitting, etc.? If not, please go to those groups and find out. And most of these job seekers are from Western countries. When I point this out, I am attacked for not helping people.
  11. If not Russians, some others will take the job. I see constant postings in various Facebook groups, specifically Pattaya and Samui, about finding work in Thailand from other nationalities in Western countries. I wonder why they want to come to Thailand to work there. Are they rejects of their home countries?
  12. Why do you need income documents when you can transfer your income to Thailand and show it to immigration? I don't know about any other countries, but I knew a few Americans getting bogus income certificates from the embassy for extension purposes.
  13. Where (location) and which bar. I will make a visit and make a determination.
  14. The day I landed in Bangkok and went to a bar, I realized bars are brothels in Thailand. All bars in this country are brothels, but if you want to see very upscale brothels, come to Pattaya. Hey, Pattaya has everything. Thailand should make prostitution legal. If you want to see the largest adult entertainment area in the world, come to Pattaya. Of course, there are other nice places as well. Pattaya just needs a university campus in the Sri Racha area to make it a complete, cheap, and decent retirement heaven in the world or for a break from your home country.
  15. It will never make sense to foreigners whose only voice is on this forum. Johny foreigner, could not make money in his home country and came to Thailand to earn money. What a shame. Must be deported.
  16. Sure. He could not make it in his homeland and came to a foreign land to make money, have a wife and kids, and openly flaunt their laws and rules. No mercy for them. Deport them.
  17. Please move to warm countries. I bet you won't or cannot. Show me by moving. I will bet you'll keep posting in this forum to enrich the forum owner. Your only voice is this forum made specifically to make money from people like you, and nobody on earth cares about your opinions.
  18. They may be 100 years old now, but ever wondered what happened to the wealth. Wealth does not disappear just because a person becomes old or dies.
  19. She was doing a job that is reserved for Thais only, like driving passengers in a rental car or using her own personal cars to drive passengers for money.
  20. Russians may have spent lots of money to escape to Thailand, but those working illegally should be arrested and deported after getting their money. They have the gall to come to Thailand to work illegally. It is not free for all. If you are a retired westerner and have contributed to Western societies but still cannot live a decent life in your home country, you can come to Thailand and enjoy your golden years in 5000 baht rooms eating 50 baht meals, or you can build your dream house in the boonies, surrounded by dilapidated structures and open rice fields, to rejoice in your accomplishments.
  21. Even with a work permit, you are not supposed to work in jobs reserved for Thais, like carrying passengers, tour guides, flipping burgers on the streets, working in salons, etc.
  22. Anybody working illegally (without a work permit) or legally (with a work permit) but in a job reserved for Thais (like driving passengers) should be arrested and deported, unless from a low-income neighboring country. Imagine the gall of the westerners, unable to earn in their own country, had to travel 10,000 miles to work illegally in Thailand. Thailand is for unfortunate western retirees who could not make it in their own country and had to travel to Thailand for life and love. It is not for young people to discover 5000 baht rooms and 50 baht meals working illegally in Thailand.
  23. Prudent people keep money stashed away in other countries and Switzerland, oh no, the stash spot of stolen wealth of Nazis.
