  1. There could be substance to these allegations but I think more likely he has dirt on some guys in higher places!
  2. There is often 2 sides to a story! Anything can happen in Thailand!
  3. Yes likewise for me, I even drove myself home after eating a meal!
  4. In the west you have to go back in the following morning and you are not immediately released after surgery so I guess keeping you overnight is some extra revenue which may well be part of the plan, given the cost of many Thai hospitals it maybe not be such a bad idea. Should any complications arise you have staff on hand to assist, unlikely but possible!
  5. Its an Asian thing, not just in Thailand!
  6. Its an Asian thing, boys are the chosen one's. Cant you tell?
  7. The guy sounds like a loose canon and should better control himself but she ran into his bike from behind so by law she is in the wrong. The fact that she virtually admitted to having cut him off he got angry which isn't so unusual, still no excuse for his behaviour but it can be a frustrating country to drive in given the local driving standards and lack of driving integrity but 90% of the time the foreigner will be wrong even if he's in the right.
  8. If you dont have the common sense to read the entire comment of others I guess thats sad for you. Maybe its you that needs to grow up!
  9. That's a bit of a strange response, "grow-up"
  10. I wonder if he really did full on kick the doctor or did he nudge her with his foot and she calls it being kicked? There is always 2 sides to a story, surely the guys got more common sense and decency than kicking a lady thats sitting wether he feels its on his rented step or otherwise! If he did give her a real kick then sure, charge him with a hefty fine and then deport him with a ban on re entering Thailand but only after the facts are revealed and the legal process is followed. The sad thing about it is if she were a peasant girl then most likely nothing would probably happen.
  11. Chose your weather, very cold in December - February, very hot July, hot & wet in August. I was there in December 2000, not my favourite destination by any means. The Great Wall is impressive in a sense but it is just a wall which has been rebuilt in many parts due to deterioration. Like Thailand with double pricing, queue's for foreigners at several times the price of locals at the wall but they do give you a small book on the history of the wall, not sure if the local queue gets the same.
  12. No I never said that but if that's how you would like to interpret it up to you!
  13. Go to Kaw Thaung immigration which is right at the bottom tip of Myanmar, clear customs at Ranong and its a short boat ride across the water way about 15- 20 mins. Previously you could go to the Island with the Casino which was a little further but that has been shut down for some time now.
  14. Any professional bank does due diligence prior to the loan being approved, if the bank skipped that step then bad luck I guess. Its not uncommon for assets to be over valued whether intentionally or due to market trends but Banks will only lend a percentage of the total value, you and I will never know the truth so no point in spectulating what really happened. If you haven't worked out what is going on in the world then thats unfortunate for you, I guess you will be telling me next how Covid was a naturally occurring virus and that Pfizer with the help of WHO/Gates & Fauci etc did a brilliant job creating a vaccine to save us all despite knowing full well that the vaccine had 9 pages of known side effects of which a number are fatal.
  15. Yes it is permissible but you realise they drive on the right side of the road in Laos. I am told it is a fairly straight forward procedure.
  16. It is not a cranking problem, it just doesnt fire despite cranking as it should.
  17. I have ordered a new fuel pump so will see if this fixes the problem.
  18. I have a Yamaha scooter, Grand Filano 125cc which cranks over as it should in the mornings but the engine does not fire. After quite a few attempts it finally starts and runs as it should. After sitting all day come evening the same problem, when the engine is warm it starts straight up so only when the engine is cold. It is fuel injected so I am thinking its either the fuel feed pump or the fuel injection system malfunctioning. The battery, starter etc is working fine, I replaced the air filter and spark plug a few months ago and its serviced regularly, once running it performs as it should. Anyone have this issue with a Yamaha scooter, Mio, Fino, Filano etc???
  19. It is just a classic case of no discipline, no properly enforced law and the usual Thai system allowing corrupt practices. The authorities should draw up a set of operators rules ( Taxis, Tuk tusk etc ) that are within the current legal regulations and enforce them through the lovely honest boys in blue! The authorities should also advise tourists to not use a taxi that doesnt want to use the meter and to report the Taxi number, install signs in the taxi stating this. Any taxi not using the meter has their licence suspended and the driver fined, ban from driving for a set period of time, 2nd offence double the penalty, 3rd offence, fined and disqualified. Tuk Tuks I am not up to speed with their regulations but there must be some operating guide lines!
  20. Sadly some people dont get it, the Iraq war & 9/11 disgrace, the more recent covid scam, if you think for a minute that the deep state dont exist get your head out from under a rock!!
  21. Yes its time to drain the swamps for the better of all humanity rather than just a select few!
  22. Yes because you are a westerner and thats the politeness we display, Asian's dont share our view here and dont even think its being rude despite being the obvious to us westerners.
  23. I gather she is referring to her fellow country menfolk!!
