  1. So why do you think the EC wants to evict the MFP from politics, it seems like MFP have some movers & shakers who want to curb the shananigans that the elected members and elite have been getting up to. Sadly it will be a long and winding road given how many snouts are in the trough!
  2. You have to ask yourself who is responsible & accountable because all those in the picture are just drooling to swoop!
  3. Whilst Xi's B&R initiative and helping Thailand with its railway project has its benefits China only ever does what benefits China. You may call that good governance but those developing countries often fund chinas gain and can ill afford to do so. If the lovely Xi was a responsible world leader he would not be assisting Putin in his murdering of Ukrainians, he would be encouraging North Korea to focus on peace & development for the people instead of warfare. If he were a responsible leader he wouldn't be supporting the illegal junta in Myanmar and so it goes on. But its suits his cause to have these rebel nations as allies in case of conflict whilst he is trying to land grab wherever he sees a weakness or an opening. The world has become a <deleted>ty place full of <deleted>ty people!
  4. Yes its always sad to hear how many fatalities there are and as other members have pointed out these numbers are deaths at the scene of the accidents. Unfortunately the authorities do nothing sensible to educate Thai drivers, there is no real consistent policing of law breakers, for motor bikes which are the largest fatality's ie not wearing helmets, actually having a licence to drive a motor bike, driving on the correct side of the road observing road lane lines painted on the road, waiting until there is no oncoming traffic before over taking, looking both ways at an intersection before making a turn, maximum 2 on bike etc etc. So I blame the department of transport and the Road police for failing in what they are paid to do. Tourists hiring motorbikes should have to have a valid licence from their own country, everyday I see newbies who have no riding experience what so ever so another accident waiting to happen. For car & pickup drivers again do licence checks, educate drivers that those lines painted on the road are actually there for a reason, if you want to cross lanes check the way is clear and indicate prior. A red light means stop but everyday I see vehicle and especially bikes running red lights. At roundabouts you must give way to traffic on the roundabout, give way to vehicles on your right when turning. Over loaded pickups is a common sight but the police do nothing. An indication of Thailands third world status and peoples greed where money takes precedence over the law and common sense, Its not going to change anytime soon!
  5. Putin will be arriving shorty to coordinate a "special operation" in Phuket!
  6. I have no reason or motive to fabricate a story, I am just recounting what I read to the best of my recollection!
  7. I dont remember where but was reading about the Burmese boys last year from the best of my recollection, an article came up on Koh Tao's history of murder & crime. Due to several unresolved murders the authorities sent a new commander who according to the article was shot dead on arrival at the pier! From memory it was back in the 80's or 90's, It certainly didnt seem like a BS article!
  8. What a disgusting individual, find him, fine him and deport him!
  9. No surprise to discover fraudulant activities in Thailand.
  10. You would hope that Karma eventually plays out on the perpetrator's! Sounds a little like PNG doesnt it Scouse!
  11. Another omonous Koh Tao death with possibly unusual circumstances, they have kept this very quiet as it happened last month. The last fatality we heard about was the Indian couple found lifeless in a swimming pool and very little published about that incident. Reading the history of Koh Tao is rather alarming given that some years ago they sent a Police commander to take over investigations due to other unresolved fatalities and he was shot dead at the pier on arrival. I guess that tells you all you need to know!
  12. If & when Thailand becomes a responsible democracy maybe then that would be a good idea!
  13. Its been like this for years and the authorities do nothing about the blue waste pipes that run from the beachside business's directly into the water of Bophut beach.
  14. As a Samui resident I can suggest a few changes that would make visitors experiences more pleasing. 1) Yes all the blue waste pipes that run under the sand on Bophut beach from the business's beachside, disgraceful and the authorities do nothing so water quality is terrible. Provide public garbage bins around beaches and attractions would be an easy job. 2) Make the Surat Islands a separate province so the Governor is more tourist focused and hopefully address many of the Islands issues for the better of both tourists and residents. 3) No public toilets in all the tourist centers accept at service stations which aren't at tourist areas. 4) Enforce the using of meters by all Samui taxis then no ripoffs! 5) Teach motorists how to drive, enforce proper parking rules as many cars park in a narrow 2 lane road whilst they shop at convenience stores & markets causing huge traffic issues compounded in the high season. The driving standards on Samui are atrocious to say the least! 6) Bangkok Airways monopoly puts many people off given the highest passenger flight charges in Thailand. 7) The collection of garbage is a real problem and water shortages are not so rare! The are several other substantial issue's but maybe they are better left un said!
  15. Yes lucky you added the last sentence, the privileged keep stealing while the underprivileged keep paying!
  16. Subamarines and now space exploration with China, probably some scope to get their snouts in the trough! Get your priorities in order Thailand.
  17. You would wonder why Thailand has prostitution laws because they are only enforced against foreigners, typical Thai justice. We can break our own laws but you cannot!
  18. I think because the northern crossing's between Myanmar & Thailand are experiencing heavy fighting the Prachuap Khiri Khan crossing is in far less hostile territory. Recently the Myanmar Junta requested to land in Mae Sot international airport over 3 days to evacuate citizens, however what they really wanted to do was move cash from the city banks across the border from Mae Sot and fly it to Rangoon, the first flight went ahead but the 2nd & third never happened with no explanation to Thailand.
  19. Yes I have to agree, Blood is thicker than even dirty water and in some cases Thai's will protect Thais even when they know what they are doing is wrong!
  20. There is plenty of Andaman sea coastline without insurgents from the south. Trang to Ranong gives you plenty of scope! Yu man lon likem nambis?
  21. We must remember Thai's are entitled whether they are right or wrong!
  22. Nothing surprises me in Thailand, make it as difficult as possible if you can and yes I am sure many of these supposed laws are made up just to" p" you off!
