New Thai Police Chief Sets Bold Crime-Fighting Agenda
paul1804 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
It would be personally reassuring if we for 1 minute believed him but sadly for Thailand they are chair warmers and tea money collectors. He may well have good intentions but what about the other 249,999 officers ??? -
Well what we do know is the Thailand supplies them with aviation fuel so they can bomb the "S" out of their own citizens. Remember the Junta are an illegal entity so everything they are doing to their people just to name a few from human rights abuses, torturing innocent people, numerous killings of civilians, openly torturing and killing the resistance, destroying dwelling, schools, hospitals and infrastructure, stealing, land grabbing, displacing probably many more than a million people etc etc is illegal and Thailand doesnt have the morals or ethics to come out and condemn their actions, it sounds like you condone them as well!!!

Thailand urges swift release of citizens detained by Myanmar
paul1804 replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
The trigger happy Burmese up to their usual antics, no need to open fire on the Thai boats, either escort them back to their own waters if in fact they weren't already and if they we're illegally fishing in Burmese waters take the boats and negotiate a release. Thailand is up to their filthy ears in shananigans with the Burmese Junta so maybe there were some breakdowns in negotiations so the Burmese thought they would stir things up! I wonder which neighbouring country gave them the ammunition used, china, India, Thailand or maybe it was Russian!!! -
Very sadly for that fisherman who lost his life and those injured in the encounter, whether they were in Thai or Burmese waters is to be established but no need to open fire on fishing boats like they did. Thailand shamefully supports the Burmese Junta who are murdering their own people which the Thai authorities are very aware of so this type of behaviour is both very foolish and unnecessary by the Burmese Navy, an indication of their aggressiveness. When will Thailand gets some morals and ethics and condemn these murdering scumbags, I guess there are some financial benefits for the Thai's so that means morals & ethics get shelved!

Thailand Criticised for 'Forcibly' Deporting Cambodian Activists
paul1804 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Did you really expect anything different from the Thai authorities, they do the same to many Burmese knowing full well that the illegally instated Junta are killing innocent people daily & those deported young Burmese men are then conscripted and made to add to the misery & killing of their fellow people. Looking at Cambodia's history these so called activist who most likely are just political opposition will get imprisoned and tortured just like in Burma & China, and to a lesser extent Laos, Vietnam, Pakistan and a few others that call themselves a democracy where the military controlled or run governments are in reality dictatorships. -
Trump's Cabinet of horrors exposes his totalitarian drift
paul1804 replied to simple1's topic in Political Soapbox
I am not an American so have no axe to grind either way but it astounds me how so many Americans didnt understand that their country under the Biden/Harris administration was sliding into poverty!! Do they walk around with blinkers on not seeing the demise of a once great nation? For the world's largest economy their food culture is the disgrace of the world and the old saying of "we are what we eat" is so evident in the USA with so many obese unhealthy people. But the chosen few reaping huge profits from GMO food, the FDA and Big Pharma along with the medical institutions are happy to keep filling their greedy evil pockets at the peril of their nation and people! I dont see how the same nation could legitimately elect people like Biden & Harris to run their country and to be so stupidly naive to for 1 minute believe that Harris could lead the country after a disastrous 4 years at the helm! Obviously the number of votes counted in the swing states was far to great to manipulate the outcome so lets hope the Trump/Vance admin can end these current global conflicts sooner rather than later, get their food chain and medical institutions back on track and the US can hold its head up as a responsible super power. -
Kamala had to pay celebrities to appear.
paul1804 replied to Cryingdick's topic in Political Soapbox
We the public get told so many lies and in many instances the main stream media is the biggest distorter of the truth, especially when it comes to politics & money. However I am sure the Harris campaign gobbled up a huge amount of money that has a questionable distribution chain, remember the BLM scenario! I guess choosing Harris was like backing a draft horse in a sprint race and if she is the best candidate the democrats can offer then fortunately for Americans the Republicans won! -

Many Thais that moved abroad mainly for marriage gain PR status and are quite happy to do so. If their children are born abroad most countries recognise this and they can easily apply for PR, Its about time Thailand moved on from the last century and had some reciprocal laws without the interference of small minded individuals with overly nationalistic views !!!

Phuket Taxi Mafia Confronts Tourists Over App-Based Ride
paul1804 replied to webfact's topic in Phuket News
I first visited Phuket in 1988 and it truly was then a magnificent destination, I rented a Suzuki 4wd and drove myself and a couple of Austrian ladies that I met the day of my arrival around the island for the next 10 days. We had a ball and those ladies both cried when I departed 10 days later saying it was such a wonderful place to visit and they had enjoyed every minute of their stay. Bangla road was really very quaint with half a dozen bars and about as many restaurants. I returned 25 years later and couldn't believe my eyes or how the very nature of what Phuket was had deteriorated. I blame the governor's of the island for allowing it to become what it has, however these taxi Mafia are also on Ko Samui so not just a problem in Phuket and with the same lack of action from the authorities! -
Did he really kick her or was it a nudge to move her on? Why did she return after apologising on the first encounter, also the court initially found in his favour! If he did in fact actually kick her then he should pay the price of assault but somehow I believe there is more to this story! It does seem that he is an angry man if the reporting is factual but again we know how inaccurate & misleading reporting in Thailand can be. We also know the brown envelope scenario!!!

Why Kamala Harris was always destined to lose
paul1804 replied to NickyLouie's topic in Political Soapbox
It amazes me how blindly naïve a population can be, Biden is a dottery old man unfit to hold the position and his current VP despite not being old is no better choice, maybe worse! She has changed many of the Dems policies just to get elected and once in office it will be back to the status quo and the US will sink further than it already has!! -
Dancers at Police Station Spark Outrage Among Netizens
paul1804 replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
Maybe not quite the appropriate place for scantily clad ladies to be dancing but it looked like harmless fun to me! I guess the Police had to issue the reprimand statement regarding the incident but I bet underneath they were smiling and why not. -
Pattaya Official Seeks Justice in Sea Urination Row
paul1804 replied to snoop1130's topic in Pattaya News
There are many cost effective ways for providing simple basic ammenities, if Thailand wants foreign tourists that spend then provide the basic's otherwise the streets and beaches will be covered in litter, garbage and urine which is already a problem! If thats the way Thai's want to live so be it, quality tourist numbers will eventually decline, Chinese & Indian's will feel quite at home given similar scenarios in their home countries & the Thai people will be the looser's -
Phuket taxi driver hits foreign man on airport zebra crossing
paul1804 replied to snoop1130's topic in Phuket News
If he didnt stop to assist the person he just skittled he will more than likely have done a runner!! Again an indication of Thailands driving standards and the authorities total inadequate response to these situations are the real reason the standards here are so poor! -
Pattaya Official Seeks Justice in Sea Urination Row
paul1804 replied to snoop1130's topic in Pattaya News
Quite honestly where are they supposed to urinate given that there are most likely no public toilets in the area. Thailand wants tourism but lacks foresight in providing public ammenities like toilets and garbage bins. This is an ongoing problem all over Thailand and the government keeps talking about promoting tourism yet has no idea about providing the ammenities needed to service the people/tourists! -
Horrific Bus Fire in Thailand Sparks National Debate on Safety

Horrific Bus Fire in Thailand Sparks National Debate on Safety
paul1804 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Thailands road fatalities is an indication of the authorities lack of enforcing the laws of Thailand and changing the laws to be in line with modern day standards starting with the Thai driving licence tests, public motor vehicle inspections and road safety standards. The driving standards in Thailand are attrocious to say the least and the law is constantly disregarded by vehicle owners and drivers themselves. Its in your face every time you drive down the road and the police in 95% of the time do zero!!! Drivers need proper driving education, testing stations need to adhere to & enforce the correct standards & Thai road law enforcement need to get off their backsides and enforce the laws! The recent bus tragedy is just an indication of the poor level of ethics, morals and intelligence of both the vehicle owner and the driver! -

Minister Pushes for Bangkok F1 Race Plan with 2024 Deadline
paul1804 replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
The bus tragedy was a sad day for Thailand but again it is an indication of Thai peoples ethics, education and poor standards just to make a dollar! So its all connected, an F1 street race in Thailand would be disasterous given their levels of safety, integrity and lack of attention to detail. Buriram track would be ok but too far off the beaten track with insufficient supporting infrastructure. -

Minister Pushes for Bangkok F1 Race Plan with 2024 Deadline
paul1804 replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
The lack of discipline and the dismal safety standards would be the first hurdle! The ethics and morals of the authorities there would be the next and so on! A country with one of the highest road fatalities on the planet speaks for itself, the carrot for the FIA would have to be ginormous!!!!
