They will never bother to stop this because there is no visible personal monetary gain to the authorities, too short sighted to realise that with clean air there will be more tourist $$$ and a healthier community. The farmers and community need educating and law enforcement but that would make too much sense.

Some basics are dont try and run the temperature too low and use it in conjunction with a good ceiling fan which makes a huge difference to your room temperature versus the temperature you have the AC set on. I run mine on 27C with a ceiling fan and its quite comfortable, especially for sleeping. Most modern AC's are at least single inverter and often double which means your AC's motors slow down when the desired temperature is obtained and speed up when the actual temperature rises above the set temperature. If your are already doing this and feel your bill is excessive find a smart English speaking AC technician and get him to check it out. BTW I presume its a stand alone system specifically for your condo and not a ducted system shared with other condos???

Where there are no panels the heat gets absorbed into the ground unlike a solar farm area where the heat is reflected back into the atmosphere, its not rocket science but logical! Parking, traffic rules and most actions associated with driving in Thailand is a shambles, motor bikes park in car designated parking zones, all vehicles park in designated no parking zones, many vehicles park partially on the driving lane and sometimes as much as a meter blocking the lane for traffic to pass. They even sometimes park fully blocking the lane so they can go into a shop to make a purchase! They drive in the wrong direction in 1 way roads sign posted & flashing no entry lights displayed with arrows painted on the road! The entire scenario is a total shambles and all of a sudden in tourist high season the RTP decide to erect No parking signs, chain up bikes and fine people, why would they do this as parking in many tourist areas is often difficult to find. Property owners have also got on the racket and put road cones and barriers in front of their properties which is again just typical stupid Thailand, they dont own the road, its public property and the police do nothing about controlling this. What a joke!
